Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Location and a very comfortable stay The location exactly fitted our needs and the stay was very comfortable. We frequently travel between Virginia and Illinois due to a death in our family earlier in the year. We are usually quite beat when returning home and the St. Clairsville Holiday Inn Express just fits our stopping point when we return home. The Hotel is very comfortable and it gives us a chance to recharge some over night. October 9, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great rainy night with grandkids We had the grandkids overnight to swim in our pool. Due to the rainy weather we took a chance and called for a room. We were able to check in pretty early. Our room was not what we had expected. the girl at the front desk was new but she was more than willing to accomodate us. She moved us to another room which was great. The pool was very nice, the breakfast was very good. The housekeepers and the lady taking care of breakfast was very friendly. We will definately stay there again. Was a very nice relaxing night we got to spend with our grandkids. August 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Will be back next year! We have attended Jamboree in the Hills for the past two years and have stayed at this location both times. Rooms are clean and comfortable. A/C worked great which was definitely a bonus as it was very humid outside while we were there. The hotel is located approximately 7-8 miles from the venue and is very easy to access. Lots of restaurants and shopping very close by. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was wonderful with things like sausage gravy and biscuits and omelettes, not your normal continenatal breakfast fare! If we attend Jamboree again next year, this will definitely be our choice for lodging! July 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel & very relaxing We've stayed at this property several years in a row for an annual event. The hotel seemed to have undergone some remodeling. Everything was great. The staff was very friendly. The only thing I would ask (if I had to come up with a 'negative'# would be to have more healthy choices at breakfast. The hot selection was great for those who may not need to diet #eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, etc#. There was a nice variety of yogurt but only had bananas for the four days I was there. Maybe some apples and/or oranges would be appreciated! Will definitely be back again for Jamboree! July 26, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well kept and very clean premises. This hotel was very impressive as far as cleanliness. They were updating the flooring in the entrance and hallway when we were there and we didn't hear a thing. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was more than I expected when I booked a handicapped accessible room for my husband. The room was very conveniently located on the first floor next to the side parking lot so I didn't have to carry our luggage far. My three small granddaughters and I went to the pool the first evening and it was absolutely sparkling. The water was warm and well maintained. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone. We did not take advantage of the Continental Breakfast, but the smells coming from there sure were good. Again, everything was very clean and tidy. June 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and very comfortable Nice Inn, clean and fresh smell in room, nice shower and towels. Enjoyed the stay, however breakfast area was a very small tight area and food was mediocre. We were traveling from Arizona and this Inn had the best bed so far. So getting a good nights rest made the breakfast a non-issue. Will stay here on our return back. June 1, 2013

The lobby was immaculate and smelled very clean and fresh, The girl who attended the breakfast bar was also very friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable. Like the soft and firm pillows. The only thing that wasn't comfortable was the easy chair in our room. It felt & sounded like cardboard when you sat in it. But such a minor thing, otherwise very nice. We stay here twice a year when attending events in Wheeling and will be back. March 23, 2013

There are several shops close by, the cost for the room was more then I pay on an average. If you pass this Holiday Inn Express going West it will be another hour until you find another HIX. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wake up call I had ask for a wake up call for 1:00AM, I woke up on my own at 4:30AM. When I was checking out I ask why I never received my wake up call. The young man looked and told me it had been written down but never entered in the system. He said he did not check it because the girl had put her intials bedside the time. He acted like it was no big deal that I was starting my day 31/2 hours late because I did nor get my call. February 6, 2013

The professional staff is exceptionally helpful, the room quite tasteful, and the location perfect. Once at check-in I asked to change for a different type of room. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful stay My wife and I checked into this hotel on 1/15/2013 and was greated by a very friendly staff and we were recognized as being a priority club member even though we are no longer platinum. We were in town to attend a event so we chose this hotel due to proximinity to the event. My wife needed a shower to freshen up prior to and the in room hair dryer broke, they had someone at the room in 2 minutes to replace it. Awesome.... not all hotels respond at all let alone that quickly. The room and hotel was very clean and I found the room to be nice. I didnt feel it was outdated at all . Again... I chose this hotel because of proximity and only read reviews prior to writing mine. I was very satisfied with our stay and will choose again if our travels ever take us that way again! I cannot speak on price as we redeemed a reward night for our stay January 16, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Most Excellent Stay After a long drive, got to the hotel at around 11 pm. Was greeted by Clif at the desk, who recognized my Platinum PC status. The checkin paperwork was all ready and I headed to the room. Though it was late, I noticed the shiny tile floor in the entry and bath areas. The room was tidy, and the beds were the raised type. Off to bed, out like a light. Breakfast in the am was standard, and though I'm gluten-free, did not go away hungry. It was not too crowded in spite of the full parking lot. And also in spite of the number of contractor trucks, there were no noisy workers, dirty floors or trash. Compliments to the staff on a well kept property, friendly demeanor, a most excellent experience. Should also mention it was a Free Reward Night from Priority Club Rewards, so they appreciate loyalty, and so do I. November 28, 2012

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by High cost Perhaps the highest room price at any Express (our usual group choice) at which we have ever stayed. Many trucks in lot. Unclear, at high cost, why their drivers, or any except those desperate, would choose this location. Older, drab facility. Room with inconvenient, unappealing open lavatory across from small enclosed bath, toilet space. Clean, relatively comfortable. Room staff, pleasant; desk staff, less so. Food as good (not a negative comment) as at most Expresses but much too little space for size of hotel. Would now drive extra miles to another Express location. November 16, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It was Ok We travel often and stay in the Holiday Expresses as much as we can. The rooms were clean, (cleaning ladies were very polite on our floor) Always asked if we needed towels or anything. Our toilet clogged and the bathtub drain wouldn't stay plug..which was a bit of a disappointment as our daughter likes to soak in the tub after weve been traveling all day. Beds were soft and fluffy. Room temperate was a bit of a hassel as it always smelled a bit stuffy in our room. We had the pool all to ourselves everyday, which kids LOVED!!! Suggestions would be to have more than 1 washer/dryer in the whole hotel. Would be nice to have one on each floor. Also, breakfast wasn't that great. Sorry Holiday Inn, this was one of your downfalls. Also a TV and sitting area would be nice in the lobby. ALOT of guys and their families are traveling and don't like to be cooed up in their rooms and a sitting area would be NICE!!! Overal I would give a 6/10. November 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, quality Holiday Inn location! We stayed at 3 different Holiday Inns during our recent trip, but this one was the best. The staff was incredibly friendly (one person in particular at the front desk), the breakfast was better than the others (despite being an express as opposed to a full Holiday Inn Hotel), and the location is convenient. PLEASE NOTE, Google maps has the location of this Holiday Inn incorrectly listed. If you have any questions on how exactly to get there, you may want to call the front desk prior to your stay. They're used to dealing with the Google inaccuracy, and it will save you lots of time searching (especially good if you're getting in late as we did!). October 25, 2012

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Did not receive what we had confirmed We had a written confirmation for a king bed. We arrived at about 4:15 or 4:30pm (certainly not late) and were rather abruptly informed that a king bed wasn't available and we had to have two queens. Not the friendliest of staff and she seemed entirely disinterested in our frustration. We are priority gold members and are usually greated so friendly and get the feeling that our business and loyalty is appreciated. This clerk was not the least bit welcoming or particularly friendly. It sort of dampered our whole evening. We stayed at Holiday Inn Express throughout our entire vacation and this was by far the worst experience (and also the most expensive hotel of the trip - which was a double whamy) October 22, 2012
