Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Summer Rental Experience I was surprised to find out that this property is only open during the 6 summer months...I thought for sure all Holiday Inns would be open year round. That fact lead me to believe that the shortage on quality employees and services were due to seasonal employees. Only half the cable TV stations worked, which was inconvenient after a long day of running around with kids. I mentioned this to the staff on 3 occasions, but nobody ever came to check it out. The breakfast area was clean, but short on food, with items running out and not being replenished. Why they use the pancake makers that never work is beyond me. While it is likely that the HI Express is one of the better hotels in St. Ignace, and I would probably stay again (I prefer the devil I know to the devil I don't know), this was easily the lowest quality I've experienced with the chain. And HI Express used to be my go to for business travel. I've since branched out to other chains. September 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very nice view of lake I love this hotel, hospitality, cleanliness, comfortable bed. We especially like the fact that customer service will help you with whatever dicounts are available. The one thing that my husband and I have a problem with is we would rather have natural and scrambled eggs without the cheese. However, I am lactose intollerant so I bring my own milk and was able to enjoy the cereal available. There were fruit , muffins and a few other breakfast items, but we come from a generation of home cooked meals and breakfast, so considerating the whole of it, it wasn't a bad breakfast. I would come again and enjoy the view , pool and the comfort of everything. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Yes, we will be back so leave the light on. September 25, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great View I recently spent 9 nights at this hotel. I would not recommend to anyone. When we first arrived we went to the room that we were assigned. When we got there the door was open and the bed pillows were on the desk. Looked as if someone was sleeping in the room. We had to haul our stuff all the way back down to the main desk. They reassigned our room. Ended up just being the maid service goofing around in the first room. Our bathroom toilet seat needed fixed. I had to call down and report that it needed tightened (why the maid service didn't take care of it was my question). Some man from behind the main desk showed up to fix it. The two men on duty that evening at the front desk was dressed in slouchy t-shirts with no Holiday Inn Express logos. I asked him if he worked there? Then to show up to fix my toilet? While we were there the cleaning people did not once vacuum the room. The same dirt was there every day for the nine nights!! The switch on the hot tub didn't work. Needs ALOT of cleaning!!
