Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Crowne Plaza Clayton - Room for Improvement Some staff are trying hard to please - the facility needs some work - room temperature was comfortable given that St Louis was hot and humid - some of the breakfast buffet staff could step up their game - no need to be pushy in the morning. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room for Improvement Upon check-in I wasn't told about the free concierge room with cocktails and appetizers from 5-9 p.m. if I signed up for the rewards program, the bellman did (which necessitated another visit to the front desk!). The room was very spacious, but it wasn't as clean as I would have expected. The complimentary toiletries were used, so they were unappealing even though there was still some product in them. The first day at breakfast we had a lovely woman from Yugoslavia who was very attentive. The next day a different waitress basically ignored me after collecting my breakfast coupon (wish I was seated in the Yugoslavian waitress' area!). I decided to order a slice of cake late at night to go, and I waited 15 minutes after paying the night waitress for it (yes, I included a tip in the bill, the same thing happened at a previous stay- very slow service at night in the restaurant/bar unless you are ordering a drink). Doors slamming all hours of the night you could hear all conversations as if they were in the room with you, and the best one of all is you could hear anytime anyone was using the bathroom, gross! Breakfast buffet was good but omelet lady and man assisting her just bad mouthed all the guest while we were in line like we could not hear them. June 20, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It depends... We stayed at this Crowne Plaza on the 6th of June. We knew that it was an older hotel and were pleased with our room. We chose the executive floor as it was supposed to have quiet hours and we had a family outing planned to start early the next day. Unfortunately there was a wedding reception on the top floor of our tower which took precedence over sleep. When I called the front desk I was greeted by an apologetic lady but was simply told that the reception would be over at 11 pm. While the hotel was as expected our nights sleep was not given priority. June 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Couldn't be more impressive! I picked Crown Plaza-St.Louis/Clayton because it was within blocks of my business meeting. This hotel is outstanding and should be an area destination in its own right! Upon check-in, Eric was so friendly and engaging I felt I'd known him forver! He assigned my room, handing me a an ice-cold bottled water with my room key. Eric asked if I knew the area or needed recommendations for dinner. He supplied a list of eateries near the hotel, clearly plotted on a map, plus names and address info for all of them grouped by type (Italian, Steak, etc) When I expressed an interest in Italian, Eric suggested a new and popular place only 3 blocks away..fantastic restaurant with a counter-seating view of kitchen/prep, ideal for solo diners. Same evening, as an IHG member, I enjoyed Arlisa's hospitality in a special room with a nice selection of wines & beer. Sadly, too full from dinner to partake of chips/salsa, salty snacks, or fresh cookies! :-) Next morning..panic! I'd forgotton my hair product, and no woman wants flat hair! Concierge Nick (30+ yr employee) asked bellman David to drive me to a convenience store and WAIT for me while I got what I needed. It was only 2 blocks away, but this is how "over the top" the Crown Plaza folks are. Breakfast is complimentary...and it's a REAL breakfast, with made-to-order eggs and wafffles, fruit, juice, cereal, breakfast meats (even corned beef hash!) and table service on the coffee. Hotel OWNER, Pete, walks among the tables, introducing himself to guests and welcoming them to his hotel. Impressive! Oh...and the sleep was dreamy.... You can't do better than here! June 19, 2014

Staff don't know what to do with an item that is lost - it's clear they don't have a process in place. 2. I never received a printed receipt that morning at my door. Nor did I get one in the email. I logged on to get one - hence I ended up filling out this survey. Great staff - very friendly - I loved the place. The above are observations not criticisms :-) June 17, 2014

The attitude of the staff was dismal and I got a rude call from the front desk that I was overstaying my reservation when in fact I had reserved the room for the following day, The guy up in the front desk demanded to see my reservation email and scolded me to get the rooms in the future with the persons name rather than my own.. I asked for service for the shower pressure and was totally ignored (Room 2034) I am very disappointed with the service and will consider staying somewhere else June 16, 2014

Ate most meals there for three days and all food was excellent. Very clean room. Nice to have tub (nice and deep) as well as shower. Many hotels have done away with tubs. Concierge club was wonderful, quiet way to relax at end of long conference day, Friendly staff. All around a great stay. Couldn't think of any way to improve. June 14, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Paid for breakfast, left hungry. The hotel was in a great location. Also, getting from the parking garage to my room was easy. However, when I arrived downstairs for breakfast with two hours left on the serving time, the buffet was wiped clean. After chasing down a waitress who seems to make a point to ignore me, I was told that she "had no idea if the kitchen was making more food. Probably not." This left me with a poor taste (well... no taste) of the hotel. It would be shocking if I decided to use this specific hotel again when staying in the area. June 12, 2014

The staff was friendly and helpful providing maps and directions to sites. Jamie at the front desk is very efficient and knowledgeable. The food at the restaurant is very good. Breakfast had more choices than other hotels we have stayed in. We would recommend this hotel to others and plan to stay here again when we visit the St. Louis area. June 8, 2014
