Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel In The Poconos Stayed with my husband and son for one night. Hotel was super clean and front desk staff were excellent. Our room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was nice size and also very clean. Beds were comfortable and room had flat screen HD TV. My only complaint was the breakfast, eggs tasted like plastic and seating was made more for a lounge area than a breakfast area. July 2, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beware of the Architecture Overall a very comfortable stay. Bed, bathroom, pillows were all fresh, clean and cozy. Water temp and pressure were good. Room came with a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Large television with many channels. However, the downstairs experience was quite different. We did not use the pool, but the exercise room could have been enhanced with a television. The breakfast bar featured unappetizing-looking pastries, and the eggs resembled hard little taco shells. The coffee was weak and lacked flavor. The biggest concern is the decorative metal bands that encircle the square pillars throughout the common areas. The lower edge of the bands and the corners where they join are razor sharp. According to management these are supposed to have protective plastic edge covers, but when luggage trolleys bang into them they break. Some were repaired with duct tape. Workers there reported receiving cuts and tearing clothes on these edges, much as we experienced. I assume this is a design element in many Holiday Inn Express locations. If you stay at one of these locations, steer clear of the walls! (NB the staff is trying to compensate us for the damage caused, I appreciate their efforts, but better attention to detail - they knew the edges were dangerous and should have at least made sure all the bare edges were taped - would have prevented any damage.) Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Housekeeping needs work First found a clear plastic bag next to the door. Later found a long hair stuck to the wall of the shower. Sorry, I left no tip. Breakfast could have been better, even the sausage was cold. My stays normally are better. June 23, 2015
