Drove over 500 miles from Florida for a two night stay to see our young grandsons. We chose this property specifically because of the heated indoor pool and spa for the grandsons, going so far as to call the 800 number of HIE to ensure the pool and spa was available. We were assured that it was. Upon arrival at approximately 4:00 pm, the first question we asked was, "Is the pool and spa working?" We were told no, the spa was not working but the pool was. We unpacked, the grandsons arrived shortly after, and went directly to the pool. Much to all of our disappointment, the water was freezing cold.
The next afternoon, management called and told us the heater for the pool was broken as well and wouldn't be fixed during our stay. They offered to find us another hotel if wanted to move. It was late in the afternoon and I told them no, we didn't want to pack up and move to another property late in the afternoon, for one night, not knowing any rates or pool availability, etc.. We were offered Priority Club points instead of being comped on the room rate.
Also, we were placed in a room near the lobby. It is next to the stairs and when someone used the stairs it echoed into our room like a herd of elephants was going up or down. The room itself was nice enough, roomy with two queen beds, but we had to look for the housekeeping staff and ask them to clean our room at 1:30 in the afternoon.
The breakfast was the redeeming factor in our stay. A great variety of food choices, a very nice lady working there, above average.
Would I recommend this HIE - no. The staff was not knowledgeable about the pool situation. We were told several different stories by different desk personnel. If we had been told upon our arrival that the pool and spa were broken, we could have made other arrangements. We should have been offered a reduced rate on the room instead of Priority points. This hotel severely compromised a vacation that had been planned and looked forward to. Not a good way to do business.

Room was clean and comfortable on arrival . Nice size frig in room.
Second day no cleaning of rm. Called front desk and gentlemen was rude saying we don't change sheets everyday. That is not what I asked I asked for clean towels,beds made and trash emptied. Some brought towels to the room and said maid told her we requested no service which was not true. Next day room was cleaned after 2 request on my part. Food was not the best but adequate and server was friendly and helpful.
First night in room we were awaken by someone in next room be able to open the door adjoining room door..It was terrifying to be awakes with someone entering your room. Thankfully it was a child and not an intruder. Front desk notified and their answer was oh, ok!;

The employees were courteous and helpful. This is one of your better properties as far as those aspects of our stay was concerned.

the manager was very accomodating. the last time I stayed, I had inadvertenly booked the wrong date and I was not penalized.
That is one of the reasons I stayed at THIS Holiday Inn!

We've stayed here a couple of times. This is a very well kept place. I would have marked everything excellent, but we were not greeted as Priority Guests this time when we arrived and our beds were really very 'squishy'. Perhaps the mattresses need to be replaced because I don't recall this the last time we were here and we come here about twice a year. This also will not prevent us from returning. I'm just saying that our beds this time were different from past stays.
The hotel is beautifully maintained and everyone is very friendly. The breakfast area is exceptionally clean and the choices of breakfast items is commendable. Good Work!

helpful, friendly staff....comfortable, clean, tasty breakfast, can't go wrong staying here.....only a couple exits from casino , on an exit with nice restaurants, reasonable price....go for it!

Had a great stay, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, a good breakfast for the price. The breakfast area was very well maintained (serving area cleaned, food kept well stocked, and employee "CODY" had a great attitude). The lobby always clean and stocked with fruit. We've stayed here several times, enjoying it every time. Relaxing!
