Although not the easiest hotel to find, when we called the front desk at midnight to get clarification on directions, the man was very helpful and pleasant; we were close by and he was so detailed that we had no further problem getting there. We found the room to be clean and the beds comfortable. All the staff was friendly, happy to assist with any questions, and eager to please. Our trip centered around the downtown area so it was wonderful being as close to our points of interest as it was. The only thing that needed attention was the tub/shower. It did not drain very well; I forgot to tell anyone, as it was not a serious problem. Otherwise we had a great experience and we would definitely stay there again.

Eight in the morning, the cleaning crew started to knock on the doors. Between 8 and 9 they had knocked 3 times on my door. I felt that I was staying in a third world hotel. Why can't the management tell the crew which rooms have been checked out.
I will never stay in this hotel again.

We had a good time last week in Austin. We found the staff very helpful and accommodating to all of us. We had a great time at the wedding.

Most of my stays have been very good, but a few times I've had not so good rooms and service. I stay in Austin frequently and have been at this HI before. I book in advance (don't even try to use the HI app) and check in after 3 pm but usually before 5pm and have requested certain rooms due to knowing which ones I DON'T want. Most of the time I get a good room, but a few times the rooms and service have been lees than par. For instance, I notice that the maid service isn't shy about eating breakfast with the guests and have come back to my room, turned on the TV and had a spanish language station tuned in. They have made some improvements though. Now the water heater works and the police have caught the vehicle break-in ring. All joking aside, this part of Austin does not have crime. In fact, crime is almost unheard of around the hotel, so this was an isolated incident that hopefully won't happen again. I do like staying here, as most of the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful, and it is a convenient place to stay. Food is average for breakfast, and there are plenty of places to eat or shop close by. Morning commute from Hwy. 290 is always congested, so you better leave by 7:00-7:15 am if you want to get anywhere. If your not in a hurry, relax until after 8:30-9:00 am before venturing out. Rush hour is pretty bad between 4:30-6:00 pm, so plan accordingly.
I will stay here again and again, as it is one of the better south Austin hotels.

Booked this room on rewards points and was still charged my credit card. Yet to see refund. Beds not as comfortable as usual in HIE. Breakfast food as usual in HIE sub par. I am platinum member and received two half size bottles of water on arrival. Hope that didn't break Holiday Inn giving away stuff that way. As I have said before HIE seems to be losing their edge that they originally had. Travel a lot for business and will start staying elsewhere.

We always stay at a Holiday Inn Express when we travel. We had a great experience as we can always count on the room to be clean and homey. The beds are always great.
Only complaint is this place is hard to get to due to all the freeway set up around the location. For some reason the address did not show up on our GPS but we found it after driving around the freeway system.
The location was very close to our family we were visiting, so location is good, directions not so good.

Stayed at the location twice and both times were great. The only hang up that I found was the fact they only have one washer and one dryer. However, they did provide me complimentary laundry detergent, softner, and dryer sheets. The front desk staff was very helpful. I wish I could remember her name but she let us borrow her scissors so that we could finish or last minute Christmas gift wrapping. Thank you. The housekeeping crew was top notch. They kept our room very clean and even left a courtesy note for a cleaning because we accidentally left the privacy tag on the door. Thank you. The wonderful lady working the breakfast room did a great job. She even helped my wife make pancakes for my children. Thank you. If I stay in Austin again, I will definitely consider staying here, and I would recommend this location to my friends and family.

The owner and staff of this hotel were outstanding in providing us with excellent service and responding favorably to whatever we requested. We have returned to this hotel for several years(staying for up to 2 weeks at a time) primarily because the owner and staff give us the feeling that we are with family. We wouldn't even consider staying at another hotel
