Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient to everything I frequently stay at HIEs and this is a typical property. The rooms are clean and the value is good. This particular property is convenient to downtown Austin, the airport and virtually every other destination I needed to find in the area. For that reason I have stayed there on several occasions. The one thing I would say about HIEs is that the breakfast gets old after three days and we find ourselves not availing ourselves of it after a couple of days. Having said that, if you are in a rush and need a quick bite, this is a good option. But for my wife who avoids dairy and gluten, the choices are very limited. My only suggestion to this particular property is that I usually reuse my towel, but this property did not give a reuse option. This seems odd in a state that is experience a serious drought. All that said, I will likely stay ther next time I am in Austin. May 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Nice HIE We ended up staying for three nights while touring Austin. The hotel is neat and clean, and well maintained. The staff is very nice and welcoming. In particular, we want to recognize Rhenna, who was there when we checked in each evening. She is the best of the best. She is warm, welcoming, caring and extremely helpful! A genuinely nice person who is perfect for that position or any public relations position. She, along with everything else she did for us, recommended the Royal India Restaurant, which is right next door. She was spot on; it is the best Indian Restaurant we have ever eaten at. The desk personnel, including the desk manager, were most helpful, and professional. The room is large, clean and comfortable. I do recommend you request a pool view room, this will keep you away from the traffic noise that naturally comes with a property so conveniently located close to major roads. April 15, 2014

The room was spacious and very comfortable, with a luxurious king bed, queen sleeper couch, coffee and dining table with two chairs. The room had four big windows. Unfortunately, the suite was situation right on Highway 290 and a giant cement culvert. Very noisy. I had to wear earplugs to sleep at night. April 2, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean & Comfortable Although not the easiest hotel to find, when we called the front desk at midnight to get clarification on directions, the man was very helpful and pleasant; we were close by and he was so detailed that we had no further problem getting there. We found the room to be clean and the beds comfortable. All the staff was friendly, happy to assist with any questions, and eager to please. Our trip centered around the downtown area so it was wonderful being as close to our points of interest as it was. The only thing that needed attention was the tub/shower. It did not drain very well; I forgot to tell anyone, as it was not a serious problem. Otherwise we had a great experience and we would definitely stay there again. February 20, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Lousy cleaning crew Eight in the morning, the cleaning crew started to knock on the doors. Between 8 and 9 they had knocked 3 times on my door. I felt that I was staying in a third world hotel. Why can't the management tell the crew which rooms have been checked out. I will never stay in this hotel again. February 10, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Been here several times Most of my stays have been very good, but a few times I've had not so good rooms and service. I stay in Austin frequently and have been at this HI before. I book in advance (don't even try to use the HI app) and check in after 3 pm but usually before 5pm and have requested certain rooms due to knowing which ones I DON'T want. Most of the time I get a good room, but a few times the rooms and service have been lees than par. For instance, I notice that the maid service isn't shy about eating breakfast with the guests and have come back to my room, turned on the TV and had a spanish language station tuned in. They have made some improvements though. Now the water heater works and the police have caught the vehicle break-in ring. All joking aside, this part of Austin does not have crime. In fact, crime is almost unheard of around the hotel, so this was an isolated incident that hopefully won't happen again. I do like staying here, as most of the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful, and it is a convenient place to stay. Food is average for breakfast, and there are plenty of places to eat or shop close by. Morning commute from Hwy. 290 is always congested, so you better leave by 7:00-7:15 am if you want to get anywhere. If your not in a hurry, relax until after 8:30-9:00 am before venturing out. Rush hour is pretty bad between 4:30-6:00 pm, so plan accordingly. I will stay here again and again, as it is one of the better south Austin hotels. January 12, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Better places for price. Booked this room on rewards points and was still charged my credit card. Yet to see refund. Beds not as comfortable as usual in HIE. Breakfast food as usual in HIE sub par. I am platinum member and received two half size bottles of water on arrival. Hope that didn't break Holiday Inn giving away stuff that way. As I have said before HIE seems to be losing their edge that they originally had. Travel a lot for business and will start staying elsewhere. January 6, 2014

The beds are always great. Only complaint is this place is hard to get to due to all the freeway set up around the location. For some reason the address did not show up on our GPS but we found it after driving around the freeway system. The location was very close to our family we were visiting, so location is good, directions not so good. January 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Staff Stayed at the location twice and both times were great. The only hang up that I found was the fact they only have one washer and one dryer. However, they did provide me complimentary laundry detergent, softner, and dryer sheets. The front desk staff was very helpful. I wish I could remember her name but she let us borrow her scissors so that we could finish or last minute Christmas gift wrapping. Thank you. The housekeeping crew was top notch. They kept our room very clean and even left a courtesy note for a cleaning because we accidentally left the privacy tag on the door. Thank you. The wonderful lady working the breakfast room did a great job. She even helped my wife make pancakes for my children. Thank you. If I stay in Austin again, I will definitely consider staying here, and I would recommend this location to my friends and family. December 30, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Milliken Stay At Holiday Inn Express The staff from the maid survice to kitchen to front desk were all friendly and knowledgeable. Everybody smiled and said hello (you don't get that in California). We had an excellent stay. Our son and his family just moved to Austin and we will be coming back. There was another set of parents who have been coming to your hotel and when their son moved farther away they told us they would keep coming to your location regardless because they liked the place so much. We really enjoyed the breakfasts. The gravy was top notch and a lot of things to choose from. Your pancake machine was a hoot. December 29, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in From the staff to the bed this hotel was atrocious. I travel frequently for business and have experience many different hotels but this is hands down the WORST hotel I have stayed at. The bed was below average which is tolerable if you have good customer service. The staff is very unfriendly and when the customer brings up an issue they point the finger at the customer, instead of accepting responsibility. When the issue was brought to management's attention they take the employees side and never looked at evidence that would support the customer. I have not even heard back from the General Manager.... This has ruined my relationship with Holiday Inn and they have lost my confidence in how secure my possessions are in my room and more importantly how I am valued as a customer. I am very disappointed in how this was handled but even more how they completely avoided responsibility and pointed blame where it was not due. December 27, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Temperature horrors Got to room about 2pm. Room was cold. Set unit for heat with setting of 72F. Got back to room about 11pm. Room must have been ~85F. Turned unit to cool, but never felt any cooling. Ran setting to minimum, still no cooling. By morning, room was comfortable, just in time to leave. Duh! November 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great palce to stay in Austin This was my first experience with a Holiday Inn Express and it was a great one. I was unfamiliar with Austin so the front desk folks went out of their way to be helpful and explain what was going on around the Hotel and where the good spots to eat were. The room was modern, clean and up to date. The shower was great with plenty of water pressure and hot water in the morning.The TV was great, and the free wifi helped me get some critical business done as well. I stayed four nights and had a very good time. I will stay again for sure. Thank you. November 18, 2013
