When we went to the room the remote for the TV it did not work but the maintenance man was extremely helpful replaced the batteries and came to the room to check all ok. The only other issue we had was with the door key, we had to go to reception on our last morning to get it reset. Would prefer a king size bed April 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet comfort and friendly service A clean and comfortable room and attentive friendly service from all staff. The hotel 'does what it says on the tin'. The lack of a safe or closed drawers/wardrobe means you can't leave valuables in the room. The addition of more storage space for clothes would be a significant asset. The new breakfast service, with excellent bacon was long overdue and very well received. A minor point is that the fruit compote should be replaced with orange or grapefruit segments. The compote is very runny and if you splash any of the dark red juice on your clothing it is ruined. April 23, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellence and Consistency I stay at this Holiday Inn Express 2-3 times per year when I visit the UK to see family. This hotel, built on the foundation of a strong and consistent team, continue to provide excellence relative to the cost of the stay. These staff know they are not in the world's most expensive or extravagant hotel, but they seriously care about giving great consistent service. Well done Epsom Downs Team. I would also like to personally thank one of the reception staff. I believe she was from South Africa. She took extra time to engage with my son, provided some paper and pens and made him feel as important as all other guests...chatting with him, talking about his drawings. He's 7... She did not need to do that...but she chose to go that extra mile. That is typical of the team at Epsom Downs. Thank You April 17, 2016
