Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sweetwater Holiday Inn Expr - Room 109 Upon arrival for our reservation, an upstairs room with double beds, we were advised the elevator was out of service and we'd have to take the stairs, however the manager, Mr. Lane, did offer to assist with carrying luggage upstairs if we'd like. Instead, he then offered to place us in a downstairs room - #109, with a king bed, if that would serve our needs. We agreed. Upon arrival in the room, we found it to be extremely dusty, with accumulated dust and dirt, together with crackers in several places scattered around on the floor. I decided to clean the mess myself, since we had already lost our preferred choice of reservation. Once I had cleaned the entire room, I decided to carry the dirty cleaning cloth out to the front desk, and discuss the matter with Mr. Lane. He advised he was surprised that the cleaning crew had not done a better job, and then stated the room had been used for the entire last month by a sole long term renter. Based on the color and texture of the dust and dirt it appeared that repair work with drywall had taken place recently and the drywall sanding dust had never been cleaned away. Other than this, the room was satisfactory. Mr. Lane did advise he would take the matter up with his cleaning crew. December 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff and comfortable bed! Was happy to get off the road and be welcome by a very courteous staff who helped us with all of our needs. Our suitcases were in a UHaul that I didn't want to open because we hadn't planned on having to stop, but the weather was bad. The staff ensured we had extra shampoo/conditioner, etc and towels since we had three females with long hair. The room was very nice and comfortable and we were able to relax and get a good night sleep. Loved the hot tub after a long day on the road!! December 7, 2014

She had to look to she if a room was the right room to help so my wife would be more comfortable and she did. She was Great. My wife was great and fit right in. Saw her later that night and she was still smiling and welcoming made me feel like I was home. Ended up stopping there the next night instead of coming home and there she was. Open Arms. Came to Sweetwater from PA for a wedding so being able to get much needed rest was important to us......staff was amazing and always lady on our hall was especially sweet...and the icing on the cake was the military discount that we were able to use and save a lot of money!! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Staff is the Question mark. This was my first stay here and hotel is quite nice. Check in was very slow. I did have a reservation and there were no issues with my check in. Just really slow. Enjoyed my nights sleep. In the morning needed to speak to front desk at 7:30 am and there was nobody there. Waited and could hear all about I assume the front desk persons conversation on the phone in the back. Her Jimmy was sick for a week and not working, Her Mom was down on him about it. She said it was contagious like shingles... I could not interrupt as it was so loud she could not hear me. I dropped a plastic pen and I heard her say Hello? She did not stop talking and went back to Jimmy. At this point I had been standing there in full view of the camera long enough and decided to move on. I love staying in small towns but I expect a level of professionalism at HIE. November 2, 2014
