I am hopeless at remembering names, and if I could I would mention them but have to say the staff at this hotel excel on all fronts.
My booking was messed up on the website (to be honest it was probably me) but it was sorted without fuss and very much to my satisfaction.
We had a slight issue with my meal which again was down to me not presenting a voucher at the correct time - no fuss, sorted and when I left the next morning the member of staff apologised!
I have stayed at Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Express's all over the country and this ranks way up with the best.
For service with a smile I would definately recommend this hotel and will be staying again very shortly.

the lift was broken which I know is not fault of the staff but the way they dealt with it was terrible
rude, unhelpful, dimissive, lazy generally useless

Have stayed at this hotel a few times and was once again a very enjoyable stay. Rooms are very clean and tidy, with a lovely bed and a choice of firmness in pillows. The reception is very welcoming, have been very helpful when we have forgotten toothbrushes before and have some behind the counter. The breakfast in the morning is full of options and very filling. We will definatley be staying again.

Our second stay over a number of years. Son lives in Swindon. First time we had our 2 grandsons with us and it was excellent value for money.
Just the 2 of us this time and still great value and quiet, despite being close to the M4, and spotlessly clean. We are staying in a London Express in May when I am doing the Moonwalk Marathon and again good value for money.

The beds are very comfortable and the the showers are excellent . The rooms are very clean and having tea and coffee in the room is good. Breakfast is not brilliant but it is adequate. Booking in and out was very quick, and the staff were very helpful. Would certainly use them again.

I cannot praise the staff enough especially the two female receptionists/staff members on our first night. Arriving on my own after a long journey with two tired hungry small children and elderly parents i just couldn't have asked for better service and warm welcome.

We used this hotel as a stop off on our way back from Somerset to London. We were impressed with how clean and modern this hotel was, we presumed it had recently been built or refurbished. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, no problems at all with check in. Our room was on the first floor - everywhere was immaculately clean. Our room was a good size, we even had a seating area with comfy sofa at one end of the room! The bathroom was clean and the shower was good quality. We went out for dinner in the evening and the reception staff recommended where to go and how to get there. We were disappointed with the breakfast, as there wasnt alot of hot items on offer. But there was a wide selection of fruit, cereals, yoghurts and pastries. We will definitely be using this hotel again when we make this journey - a real bargain at £39. Would recommend to anyone viewing this hotel!

So sorry but I am unable to recommend this hotel (despite Holiday Inn express being one of our favourite chains) . These are the reasons why: the initial welcome to the hotel was fine ,as was our room (although the bathroom was very cold ....even when I turned up the room heating . Who wants to get out of a warm shower into a cold bathroom ??). On a minor level ...there was 1 tea bag and only 1bath towel .....this was a twin room with 2of us staying in it ....so I had to ring reception to actually ask for another towel ...my son and I stay regularly at hotels all over the UK in order for him to compete in tennis tournaments (approx twice, three times a month). We stay at a variety of hotels and will often return to the same hotel or brand if we ve had a good stay there. This was the reason for our stay at the Swindon West hotel also . ( tennis tournament the next morning) I had asked at the time of booking if we might have a room in the quietest area of the hotel ....as my son needs to get a good night s sleep ahead of playing the next day . However , around 10pm , by which time we were in bed about to sleep, loud noise ie , music and loud voices started . I phoned reception to see if they could sort it and at that point thought it was coming from the room next door. The noise continued and we realised that it was coming from the room above. Once again I had to ring reception and ask them if they could please do something about it. Although the girl was polite , she said she would see what she could do .....but didn t, as far as I m aware do anything . Nearly an hour later and with my son worrying that he couldn't t sleep because of the noise and how tired he would be in the morning , I made yet another (third) call down to reception . A man answered this time and said he would sort it out which he actually did do . But all in all , it took an hour for someone to sort it out and denied my son an hour s sleep ahead of his morning tournament . The next morning , the final straw came when I opened the bathroom bin to see waste left in there from the last guests!! Unbelievably disgusting and I was so shocked at such poor hygiene standards of your housekeeping team . What should ve been a pretty easy , quiet one night stay , turned out to be anything but that . We were both tired the next day and I believe that this had an impact on my son s performance at the tournament the next day . I felt compelled to mention these things to Lee the receptionist the next day who ,although apologetic for our miserable night , I felt that you should know these things ,as like I say , I feel dissapointed in H.I.E. as this has always been one of my favourites . We had stayed at other hotels in the area but never that one and so we were hoping that it would be one we d stay at again . It s a shame that after that experience I wished that we had stayed elsewhere else.

We have stayed a number of times and once again received a warm welcome. All the staff including the lady clearing the breakfast table were polite, friendly and and a pleasure to meet.
The atmosphere within the hotel made it very easy for us to feel at home and be able to relax after a long day.

We just wanted a weekend away. Swindon is nothing special, but lots of places around and about, and some gorgeous countryside. Holiday Inn Express was convenient, clean, friendly and peaceful. Not exactly gourmet dining - we visited at the weekend- but the bar had the basics, and snacks included excellent pizza and a choice of Chinese-type noodle meals that were more than adequate. Breakfast again basic but well presented. Free parking, air conditioned rooms and free wi-fi in the public area. A nice getaway.

We always stay here after arriving long haul at Heathrow on an evening flight. We like the self service breakfast and the general hands off approach. A good night's sleep before our drive to Cornwall.

I love staying at the Holiday Inn Express, junction 16 of the M4.
Having been a regular guest throughout 2012, I plan to do the same for the foreseeable future.
Good rooms, excellent cleanliness, comfortable beds - all as one would expect.
The manager, Danny, has built a fantastic team: friendly, courteous, thoroughly nice and helpful people, I cannot recommend them highly enough

We arrived and checked in, the room was nice and clean and comfortable, would have liked more coffee and milk just arrived from Cornwall, bed was veru comfortable, in the morning we where surprised with the breakfast once we new what to do, the member of staff was a bit off when we asked but was fine when we booked out, must have been a bad morning it was a Sunday after all.
