Second time to stay at this facility. Staff was helpful and congenial. Room was neat and clean. Location to Sycamore and Dekalb . Should we be in Illinois again we would definitely stay here. Only negative ..difficult entry and exit access.

This Express is what the rest of the Holiday Inn Express wish they could be.
- Breakfast is ready at 6 am.
- Rooms are clean and well maintained.
- The price per room is very economical.

My 3 children, husband, and myself all stayed it the 2 queen suite. While the room was very spacious, it needed a major overhaul. There was a jacuzzi bath from 1975 that was so old it's literally falling apart. Not to mention the shower head is so close the wall, u have to sit on the soaped edge of the tub to shower. The mini fridge did not work, it kept shorting out, and the hotel pool is about as big as the jacuzzi tub in our suite. All said and done, the beds were comfy, the room large, and the service as always at express, was excellent. It just needs a face lift and some repair.

On a recent trip to the Midwest, we were not expecting to need a hotel. So I dropped into the Sycamore Holiday Inn Express to ask for a reservation for the following night. The desk clerk was so accomodating, pleasant to talk with. She acknowledged our IHG membership, presented us with a goody bag, gave great directions and made us feel very welcome.
The hotel room was clean & bed was comfy. It did not appear to be a new hotel. While our room did NOT smell of smoke, the hallways and common areas DID smell heavily of smoke. These areas also smelled very musty.
The breakfast offerings were meager, and we felt that the room rate was a bit higher than it should have been in such a small rural town.

I stayed here for 8 days in a row, great service and super staff. This was the best Holiday Inn Express coast to coast. I started the month traveling from California, thru Washington State, and across the midwest to Sycamore. Always stayed at Holiday Inn Express Hotels.

1. WIFI SIGNALS WERE VERY STRONG AND RELIABLE WITHOUT ANY DROP OFF FROM ANY LOCATION IN THE PROPERTY.
2. ROOM COMFORT WAS VERY SATISFACTORY WITH HD TV
3. SERVICE WAS EXCELENT AT CHECK IN, DURING STAY AND CHECK OUT.
4. GOOD BREAKFAST SELCTION- HOT AND COLD.

Frendly staff and clean hotel in a great location. As a Business traveler this is one of my favorate Holiday Inn Express Hotels. The staff makes you feel like you are at home. Great place!!

The staff was fabulous!!! Very helpful. They went above and beyond helping us with various things. The 3 bed room was great for our large family. I wish more hotels took the lead on this. I would highly recommend this hotel to EVERYONE!!!

Booking by internet was easy. I am a member of Priority Club, looking up and making reservation while traveling was quick. Within 30 minutes before arriving, we were looking for a place to stay while driving on highway. Hotel was close, made reservation checked in and was resting with in the hour.

Spent one night at the Holiday Inn Express prior to my daughters competing in a swim meet the next day. Very friendly front desk staff, clean, comfortable accommodations. Our room was quiet, even though it was on the first floor just off the lobby. Breakfast offered many choices, including several hot entrees. The food was very good. Would have liked a slightly better price, but it was a special event weekend with the large swim meet in town. We would stay here again.

I was actually disappointed upon entering my room at this hotel in Sycamore, Illinois. I paid the exact same price at the Holiday Inn Express in Jacksonville, Illinois the weekend before and it was so much better, I rated it 9 of 10 on almost all questions. I can not say the same for Sycamore. They would be lucky to get 3 to 4 rating from me. The Jacksonville location's sleeping / living area and bathroom was much bigger, cleaner, and appeared more up to date than the room in Sycamore, Illinois. I can not say at this time if I would stay there again.

Check In was fast and a pleasure desk clerk was great she made recommendations as to where to eat and what to do. Nice little package for elite members. Rooms were comfortable and the climate was controlled easily. Great property safe and secure out of the Chicago hustle.

We as a company and myself in particular have stayed here for many months this year and I have to say that I will continue to do so.
In particular, I wish to highlight Casy & Marlene as exceptional hosts.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and guests such as me who stay for many weeks at a time can be a bit demanding (i acknowledge that I am), but they deal with all questions, etc. in a professional, curteous and timely manner and that is all I can ask.
Weekends tend to be a challenge with the noise and disruption other ungrateful and uncaring guests tend to bring to the hotel, but at least during the week, all is well.
The most frustrating feature is when they have had a large group stay for the weekend, (for example a wedding party), then the breakfast items are completely consumed by the Sunday, so until the next delivery which is I believe Thursday, some food items are off the menu. I find this perplexing to say the least and don't understand why they can't buy hard-boiled eggs or sausage gravy locally, for example.
For the future, I hope they ban smoking throughout the hotel, depending upon which room I'm in, (308 for example) I get smoke odor coming into the room, but the rooms themselves are very well equipped and suit my needs perfectly.
Overall I would give this hotel 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone.

I arrived at 2 pm for check in. There was a taxi picking myself and other wedding guest up at 4:30. The hotel forced me to wait until 4:05 before I was allowed to check in. I was forced to hastily get ready and run downstairs to make my ride. Even though check in was at 2 pm, I was made to just sit in the lobby for 2 hours before someone came to clean my room.
What a nightmare.
