Pool area was extremely hot, our room had a very strong smell.
Said they could have someone come one morning with deodorizer, but no one did.
Overall, we had a good stay, but I wouldn't want room 208 again.

My wife and i have stayed at this property 3 times in the last 4 years. The location is great for exploring the smokies. The staff is excellent and always friendly, the service and breakfast bar is outstanding. However we did notice as other reviewers have that this time the cleaning crew was not as good as in the past. We stayed 5 nights, the room was always cleaned and stocked in towels and other items, but every day there was always some small minor obvious trash that was not dealt with and other restocking of cups etc. that just was not replenished. This is the only complaint i have and it only stuck out because in the past the room cleaning was stellar. We really enjoy this hotel and will not hesitate to stay again due to the great staff, great breakfast bar, and nice quite location.

My wife and I have stayed at this Hiliday Inn Express on several occasions over the past several years. Our stays are usually for approximately one week while visiting family in the area. Our recent stay (July 12 - 18, 2013) turned out to be the worst experience. A young lady by the name of Sarah and the lady who manages the breakfast area were both very professional and pleasant. They both acted as though they appreciated our business. The manager seemed to be preoccupied and not responsive to our needs. Specifically, we reported equipment issues in the exercise room and also issues with someone removing our laundry from the washing machine without our permission or approval.
I have been a Priority Club member for many years and Priority Gold for several years. My wife and I travel long distances several times per year and typically like to stay at HIE hotels. Most treat us well and seem to appreciate our business. Some hotels, including this one, should be required to participate in training on customer service.

We stayed at this motel after spending the day on the GSMR. It was very clean, the staff was very nice and very relaxing after a long day. I would definitely recommend this motel.

The Wife and I picked Dillsboro for its location on the south side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Walking into the lobby the strong smell of heavy duty cleaners was the first thing we noticed. Due to the recent changes in IHG the front desk staff didn’t know just how to handle our check-in, a sign of things to come. Upon opening our room door we were welcomed by a smell of heavy duty cleaners again and a distant order of smoke, smoking may have been allowed in the past. The room decor was dated with a few updates. The bed could have been mistaken for the floor for how hard it was. I only booked this room due to my loyalty to IHG, but the next time I am in the area I’ll be checking out some of the other brands. On the plus side the staff taking care of the breakfast area were friendly and on top of every need.

We spend the weekend of June 28th thru the 30th just to get away and relax. We were treated very friendly at the front desk by Chad who helped us upgrade our room. The pool and the hot tub were great. Breakfast was always good and well attended by Becky. Over all this weekend was just what we needed and our experience at this hotel was excellent and we will be back.

My wife and I have stayed at HIE Dillsboro 5 times in recent years and this is the first time that I could not give a 5 star review. It was still good and we will probably return again so obviously we weren't too disappointed. The only thing that we found to be lesser in quality this time around was housekeeping services. Finding an empty water bottle left by a previous occupant behind a bedside table was not good. Nor was not having the towels for the Jacuzzi replenished or the tub itself cleaned or even rinsed after routine housekeeping. The breakfasts were excellent as was the lady who serves them. She is an excellent ambassador for HIE due to her fine service and great attitude.

Comfortable room, clean bathroom, prompt attention to needing new batteries for TV remote, very nice breakfast selection and service. This is the only hotel we stay at when visiting our daughter at WCU.

Location is really nice, The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was polite. I have to agree Becky really shines in the morning at breakfast. She greats everyone she meets with a smile and always offers her assistance I enjoyed that.
The room was clean and enjoyable easy to relax.
The Hotel is not Motor Cycle Friendly. I say this with a grain off salt because its only because they do not allow parking under the breezway. I have noticed that some breezways are small and some are large. This hotel has the large one. But parking of bikes in this area is up to the manager at each hotel. They have no problem with parking in the regular parking areas.
I was not told about the parking policy when I arived, This holel does have the large breeze way. The nights before at another HIE I was told were to park and how to park in there breezway, it was great. So I parked the same here. The first night was uneventfull all was well. However the second night I get a call in my room telling me to move my motor cycle as soon as possible if not sooner. I have a problem with this for a couple of reasons. One its pouring down rain and two its pouring down rain!!
I was very nice and explained that I was a Royal Ambasidor Platinum Elite priority club member and would very much like not to be throne out in the rain, but did not get any simpathy. I moved my bike out into the rain. The girl at the front was doing what she was instructed to do by the night manager. I must comend her , she didn't give an inch and I was really trying to stay dry. But I thought then and do still think it was tacky; One would think a Platinum Elite club member would entice the manger herself out of her nest for a little One on One. But this seemed to be consistant, I did not recieve any special treatment for being a Priority Club Member I usually get at least a bottle of water and a snack.
So what do I think, well I guess I would like to see a couple of white lines on the ground out there in the breezeway were theres room for three bikes with out obstructing and loading and unloading. You could comp the Club members and rent to the non members. Club members like that little bit extra .

The beds were comfortable, the pool relaxing and the hot tub... well, hot!!! But none of this comes close to the wonderful friendly and helpful staff. We got to breakfast minutes before it was to close but the staff was great. Weent in the kitchen and brought items out for us, so very kind indeed. Front desk staff, Ella, was so very helpful with all our needs, and she was clearly happy to help.
The owner needs to be sure he keeps these people on staff.

My husband and I had a long weekend and decided to stay in Dillsboro as a change from our usual Maggie Valley stays. So glad we did! We can't say enough good things..from check-in staff, to maid service to Becky in the breakfast room, it was a delightful stay! We love the location..not too far from Franklin, Bryson City, Waynesville and Cherokee. We wanted to hike in the Joyce Kilmer Forest and it was an easy shot down highway 74 to the exit to the forest. I noticed how many wonderful comments Becky has received and they are well-deserved! She made us feel right at home and wanted to be sure that we had everything we needed. We travel often and this is first time that we have had such a friendly person in the breakfast room...kudos to Becky. We didn't get a chance to use the pool or the fitness room but they looked very nice. Our room was clean and comfortable and thank goodness they have electrical outlets in convenient places for us to plug in our laptops. We will definitely return and I highly recommend this for a great mountain stay!

You will be most happy to stay at this lovely facility. It's easy access and most of all it's CLEAN!. If you're like me, clean is the most important. But this facility is that and more. We checked in very late and the young lady at the front desk was extremely accommodating and gracious.
The room was beautiful and I felt like I was in a far more expensive hotel than the cost. Breakfast was great with a large variety of foods to meet even the pickiest eater.
The Smokey Mountains are beautiful and this cozy getaway is just what you need for tranquility and relaxation. Stay here and enjoy....

Just wanted to let everyone know, if you have a pet, do not stay here. the manager called and advised that someone had complained on our pet for barking during the night. We tried to explain it was from the staff putting the copy of our bill and the news paper under the door. It scared him and he did bark. house keeping went to the door and he started barking again. Like we stated, it scared him. So if you have pets, you may want to stay somewhere else. we thought this was a pet friendly place...I guess not!!!!!

The hotel staff allowed me to check in early and kept me informed of a problem with the plumbing. Unfortunately, the plumbers activated the fire alarm which was a new experience for me. After the water issue & fire alarm were resolved, I had an uneventful stay.

Room was very clean and comfortable, EXCEPTIONAL Breakfast Staff....Catered to everyone who came into the room!! Breakfast was very filling and breakfast bar was kept well stocked the whole time the area was open. Everyone was very nice....only complaint was that the hot tub and indoor pool was not open.

The staff are fabulous, the room is comfortable and the exercise room, pool and spa are great for unwinding after a stressful day. Ms. Becky, who runs the breakfast, is the sweetest, nicest ambassador your company could have. I was greatly impressed with this hotel. I was properly greeted and enjoyed our two night stay at this hotel. In fact, the lady at the front desk upgraded our stay which included a wonderful suite room.
I will definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

WOW!!!!! We were not expecting what we got at this Holiday Inn Express. We stayed in a Jr. Suite and IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!! On our way out in the morning, l asked the young man at the front desk if the hotel was new. He said, "No, but it was recently renovated." Well........needless to say, the decorator, or whoever was in charge, had good taste!!!! The breakfast was good, too. The lady there was also right on top of things. I/We will definitely stay there again if in the area.
