Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed Bag Clean, comfortable and with pleasant staff sandwiched between a run down industrial area and a modernized refurbished UW campus. My wife would not walk around the area alone. Pet friendly? Not so much. First room had no frig or microwave. Our room was changed with little effort. Closest grass was down the hall, down the elevator, through the lobby, down the ramp, down the crosswalk, across a very very busy intersection and onto the UW campus. The property is close to museums, sights and the Convention Center. Unfortunately, when we left for our conference at 8AM on Sat, we had to stop by the front desk to report a backed up toilet. We were appalled to find it in the same condition when we returned at 4PM. We called the front desk and waited. At 4:25, we called again. After a few more minutes, maintenance arrived and fixed it in two minutes. This episode was unacceptable. Since we travel with our 20 pound mini-Husky, we would probably not return to this property. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great experience The room was ready when we arrived, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and available when needed. The bed was soft and the remote worked great. A great place just to relax. August 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff and very nice hotel My family and I were greeted immediately when we walked in by the gals at the front desk. Once determined my status level with priority club we were given an upgrade to a suite which was great. The gals were so helpful with dining recommendations and were knowledgeable on Celiacs (wheat allergy) that they narrowed down which restaurants to consider. The room was clean with plenty of space for the four of us. Then for breakfast they had Udi's blueberry muffins, I have never seen that before. As any of you know who either have this issue or your child you understand just how big a deal it is to be able to go down to the hotel breakfast and just be normal without having to ask someone if something has wheat in it or not. Huge deal and WAY to go!!!! The downtown area was impressive and a great place to walk. Truly appreciate the staff and service we received during our stay. Will definitely stay here again and would recommend anyone to stay at the Tacoma HIE! August 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great time/kids loved it Our family loved our stay. The kids would have lived in the pool if we let them. The breakfast was great! They even had gluten free muffins which was a pleasant surprise for my son who cannot have any gluten. My complaint would be the first night we could not get our A/C to turn on. We were so hot. At 2am my husband turned the thermostat off and then back on which seemed to fix the problem and we soon where able to sleep comfortably. We would definitely stay again. August 20, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great HI Express What a well run and friendly hotel! From the moment the four of us walked in to the lobby till when we left we were well taken care of. We stayed in a 2 queen bed suite which was more than comfortable. The gals at the front desk greeted us by name every time we entered. Gave us great restaurant recommendations and information about the area. Two family members are gluten free and the hotel had Udi's gluten free muffins at breakfast. If you don't have a wheat allergy you wouldn't understand how big a deal this is. It made them feel normal in a world full of wheat. I have never seen this at any other HI and I stay at a lot. STRONGLY recommend this hotel. The hotel is easy to get to from I5 and is in a trendy area of Tacoma downtown. If we ever get to the west coast again we will stay here again. August 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Consistent Over the last 5 months, I have been staying at this property 2 to 3 nights a week, when rooms were available. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the rooms are very comfortable. Only one negative is the ongoing construction in the area, outside noise levels can be rather distracting. August 18, 2014
