Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Came for business but...
The only reason I am not recommending this location is that the Internet did not work. I was there on a business trip and needed to work in my suite but couldn't because of poor wireless reception. I was forced to work at Barnes and Noble and Starbucks in stead of my room.

Hotel was in decent shape and the room was clean. The biggest problem was the WiFi. It was intermittent and I was kicked off every 5 minutes or less. Very frustrating This made it very difficult to do work and communicate with my office.
The staff at the front desk was no help. They were constantly on the phone and would not speak to you until after they had answered all the calls on their line. I had to wait for over 10 minutes.
There are a lot of decent Holiday Inn hotels in the Tampa area. I would not go back to this one again.

I chose this hotel for its close proximity to my business meetings for the week I stayed in Tampa. Online, during my booking, it looked like it was going to be a great place to stay. That was about the end of my good experience. The property is hard to find, even on N Dale Mabry, because it is behind an overgrown, closed-down restaurant. That's not a shot at the hotel management, but it makes finding them trickier. Once I got to my room, I found that I could not dead-bolt my door, and when the door was closed, there was light shining in from the bottom and the side. There was almost a half inch of space because the door did not secure properly. The A/C units in this hotel are still the old floor units by the windows that make an insane amount of noise and are hit or miss when setting the temperature. The manager's reception which was advertised on the website for weeknights, had been cancelled without any updates to the website itself. That may sounds trivial, but it was something that was advertised, so it should have been there. When I asked the front desk about it, they said that it had been stopped a few months earlier. The last straw was the terrible internet reception. I had an insane amount of trouble connecting to the hotel's wifi. So much so, that I was given the hotel next door's wifi password, and it worked better!
For all that is wrong with this property, there is one good thing. Felicity, who works at the front desk. She was wonderful and accommodating. She was constantly friendly and always a pleasure to work with, even when I told her that I was leaving early because of the issues I had.
I would not recommend this property to anyone, and I hope that they can get their property up to what is expected from the Holiday Inn Express Brand.
