Front desk staff/reception staff needs thorough re-training in standards of the hospitality industry! The staff appears lackluster and does not show concern or interest in the needs or satisfaction of the hotel guests. Sister IHG properties in Tampa feel completely unrelated to this property as the level of hospitality and service are far superior (I am talking about people, not amenities- customer service standards need to be uniform across the brands at all price points). Hotel shuttle service is unreliable and spotty and one of the drivers actually appeared to be irritated when I requested a ride after I had waited for quite some time for his arrival.
The swimming pool was filled with debris/leaves upon arrival and remained in this condition for my 5-day visit, it was never cleaned. There were never towels available in the bin designated to hold fresh towels for use in the swimming pool area during my entire stay and I had to retrieve them from the front desk each time.

This Holiday Inn Express was a disappointment. The property needs to be renovated, and the rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned. I reported on check-out that both the bathroom sink and shower faucets need to be replaced. The bathroom sink faucet continuously dripped, and I really had to work adjusting the shower faucet, to stop running water, continuously. The alarm clock was broken, and I could not correct the time, so I had to unplug it. We stayed at this hotel, due to the fact that our flight from Tampa to Dallas had been cancelled due to weather, on Saturday, and we were rerouted through Houston, the next day. Upon check-in, a man reported to the desk, that someone was in the room, that he was assigned. We have stayed at many Holiday Inn Expresses, and this was definitely the worst, that we have stayed. The staff were doing their best, but there may be problems with house keeping. Also, guests should be encouraged to report problems, so they can be corrected, prior to the next guests checking in. I feel the points and cash price we paid, were not a good value. The breakfast bar lady did an outstanding job, keeping up with the crowds at breakfast.

We checked in late and requested a later checkout which was granted with no problem. Breakfast was good and ran later than at many other hotels which was nice as we did sleep in. Room nice and dark and hotel quiet for a good nights sleep.
