Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Commercials Are Right! I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable my stay was. I had previously come to Tampa for USF orientation and stayed at an over priced, uncomfortable hotel with awful customer service for the sake of it name. On this visit, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. My room was spacious, clean, and beautiful. The beds were heavenly. The staff was accommodating, and the amenities were perfect. And it cost me $30 less a night than that other hotel I stayed at. I'm coming up to see my child again in January. I will definitely be staying here! Thank you for a lovely USF Parent's Weekend. I was given reasonable time to get to my room and settle in and the front desk call to make sure I was comfortable with my room. He informed me about the surrounding dining areas which was walking distance from the hotel (next door). After a 6 hour drive I did not want to drive for dinner. The staff here helped me with anything I needed from directions to helping with my gear. They were eager and happy to do it!!! I can't say enough about them!!! It is really a nice hotel that has excellent staff who are very attentive and accomodating. Most recently they added a trial healthy breakfast- which has been phenomenal- hope it stays! Although the staff upon checking in seemed quite nice, they made a huge to-do about my wedding ring, which left me feeling fairly uncomfortable. So much so that I felt somewhat at risk to leave my room. I was traveling alone and I didn't know who had overheard their cooing and overwhelmed remarks. Being unfamiliar with the area, I opted to stay locked in my room rather than go get something to eat. I realize this isn't the Weston, but some decorum would have been appreciated. Once in the room I noticed many maintenance issues. The toilet seat was broken. The floors were very dirty, even in the hallways, they all could have benefited from steam cleaning. The mini fridge wasn't very cold and the microwave was broken. The coffee maker didn't work in the morning when I arose so I had to go downstairs for coffee. All in all, I think it was like being in an overpriced Motel 6. I won't be staying here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. Save your money. September 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall experiences We have stayed at your hotel many time and all in all are very happy. The breakfast is very good and the rooms are always clean. However, when we stayed in July the room was very warm and even though we complained and they came to repair it it never cooled enough. This time the A/C was fine but the bed was very stiff and every time you turned from one side to the other it made an awful noise (and I am not heavy so that was not the issue). Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly We stay at the Holiday Inn Express in north Tampa frequently due to its proximaty to the Moffitt Cancer Center where my wife is being treated and due to the special rate for the rooms because of the cancer treatment. We went to several hotels that gave a special rate but once we went to the Holiday Inn we never went anywhere else. The staff is so friendly and so accomodating, that we just felt at home there. The rooms are always clean and the breakfast is just great. Britt August 24, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ok hotel The room needs new carpet, fridge cabinet rotted and warped. Bathroom smelled like mildew, very unpleasant . I've stayed at this hotel multiple times and that smell is always in the bathroom. Smells like towel that has been left wet too long or that it's from the shower curtain being wet too long since there is no curtain liner. Finally, the last time I stayed there I left a blouse in the closet and when I called I was told it wasn't there. That means its possible that housekeeping either stole it or threw it away. Called a second time and they said they found it. My daughter went to pick it up and was told they did not have it. Disturbing to say the least. If it wasn't for the USF rate that now on competes with, I would not stay at this hotel anymore. August 22, 2013

There were a couple of hiccups: Had to move rooms because TV and refrigerator were NOT working. The bed slept well, a little stains on the bottom of the skirt of the bed. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I got the room with problems The staff was great but the room was in need of help. Comfy bed but the AC did not work well, In August in Florida this is a must. The only light in the room was a standing lamp. I needed to read for my convention the next day but had to stand to use the light. No bedside lamp or lamp at the desk. My instructional materials all curled by morning due to humidity and my hair was a frizz. Breakfast was satisfactory. But I will say it was quiet. I mean really quiet and peaceful. I did sleep due to my exhausting daytime activities. Perhaps a recheck of the previous room occupants car may turn up the missing lamps. Friends of mine also stayed at this inn and had no problems with their room. They had a wall thermostat instead of the wall unit controlled model I did. Also their lamps were in place. We were greeted with a smile and professional courtesy. We had a very nice clean room, the continental breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hard to Find The signage for the hotel is almost non existent. We passed by it and drove all the way to the end of the street, only to have to retrace our route. There is no sign at the street. The only sign is on top of the building and is not lighted during the daytime hours. Once we got there, the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. There was only one clerk at the check-in desk and she went off to show a room to another client, leaving us to cool our heels for quite a while. August 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Service I really hate to tell you that this last stay was not a good one on July25, 2013. We scheduled a wake up call for Friday July 26th @ 4am and ordered a cab for pickup @4:45am. I had to be @ Moffitt @ 5:15am, surgery at 7am. There was no wake up call and unfortunately the cab came and went. No one at the front desk seemed to know what was going on. I was stressed enough for the upcoming surgery; but this experience put the icing on the cake. It turned out, I was 45 minutes late. Nurses were concerned of a no show. . We made it after all; but I was very stressed out and nervous. We had stayed at your hotel back in April 18 and again July 18th 2013. for 2 days again for surgery. Never had any problems. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tampa's best kept secret Without looking at the map, I booked this property because I thought it would be near a location I had a meeting at. However, it was located on the opposite side of Tampa from where I wanted to be. The staff was very pleasant and the room was very nice. It was a great value compared to where I normally stay when I am in Tampa despite the location. I will definitely stay here in the future since it only added minutes to my drive compared to where I normally stay. I was surprised that I had passed this location several times previously and never noticed it. A hidden gem and they definitely take care of Priority Club members! March 18, 2013

It was very close to I-75 and the staff are friendly. I really love my huge king size bed and the bathroom. It was very clean and decorated nicely. I have nothing bad to stay about this hotel. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fine Stay We drove in to visit our son who lives near USF. This hotel is very good for our needs, we've stayed twice now. It's close to I75 and USF. It's in a quiet location, nobody's around the area on the weekend. We belong to Priority Club so we visit several HI's during the year and this is a very nice, new hotel. Nothing different from the other HI's which is fine with us because we like the Express. Breakfast, hotel staff and room were all excellent. Two places to eat within a stone's throw if you want to go. March 9, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great room and large walk in bathroom we enjoyed the room very much i would stay here again. the only thing we had a problem with is when we booked th eroom i told the lady aboutmy health concerns and needed a recliner, she told me they could get one and one would be in my room, she even called it erbonomic chair which is no more then a computer chair. this was the only thing that went wrong and i ended up sleeping in my wheel chair. but everything else was very nice. thanks for the very nice breakfast experience and the evening snack was a pleasent surprise. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotels and making new friends We have always chosen Holiday Inn Express when available. We never dreamed we would be staying for something besides pleasure. This hotel, I would recommend to anyone. We have been making periodical trips to The Moffett Cancer Center. My husband has been sick since last year. The people at this hotel have been so wonderful. When my husband didn't feel like being disturbed, Marie and her helper worked with me to put my trash and wet towels outside, or whatever we needed and always with a smile. Venda, at the front desk, was so sweet to us. She offered anyway she could be of help she would be there. The lady that prepared breakfast, I didn't get her name (she was short, dark haired with a grey streak). She had the sweetest smile ever. Every morning, she met me with that smile and a great big hug. Then she would ask about my husband. I had such a warm feeling and felt like home instead of being 7 hours away. I will be looking forward to when I get to go for pleasure, For now we will be returning to the Center and this hotel. People that I have mentioned is what makes Holiday Inn Express so successful.
