A well thought out and executed hotel caters for visitors with dogs and visitors without. Many hotels could learn from this about how to cater for both. Excellent staff and will be staying again.

Comfortable stop for overnight stay and our well behaved dog was allowed, whereas Exeter does not allow dogs,
We had an excellent night's sleep.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ellaroly No adequate sound proofing in adjoining rooms
Hotel staff very welcoming on arrival. Room was clean and had everything we needed however the room was an adjoining one. We only checked in late after a long drive from the North so we were tired but were woken up just before 6 in the morning by the young children in the adjoining room, this was not excessive noise but the noise most young children make, however it sounded as though they were in the room with us and woke us all up including our two older children. The idea of us stopping off on the long journey was so we could arrive refreshed at our holiday destination, this did not happen though and we feel we wasted our time and money, we did make the hotel aware of the situation and they again were very polite and gave us a sealed envelope and said we had been given a discount, when we opened it it was £20 reduction but I do feel we should have been given a full refund as we all arrived in Cornwall tired and grumpy and may as well have just done the journey in one.

Once again, we were able to start our Easter holiday break using Taunton. It is an ideal location for visiting local or further afield attractions.
The staff were very friendly. Our stay was very enjoyable.
We had an extra day to use, so made a trip into Wales.
Our room was clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was well stocked, and plentiful. More than enough for 3 teenage boys with hollow legs!
We are always greeted with a warm welcome. It is the main reason we chose to return to Taunton again and again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by American Tyreman Great Base to visit the West Country
We stayed at the Taunton HIE over Easter to visit our daughter who was at re-enactment event at Glastonbury. The hotel was everything that you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. When we were there it was under going a refurbishment, our room looked as though it had been recently updated but had not been checked off as there was a few filler spots but nothing that would ruin our stay. The bathroom only had one working light so we asked that 2 bulbs were replaced while we went out for the evening, this was done no problem but they had blown again when we turned them on in the morning.
This is an ideal Hotel to access any location in the West Country, the room is compact with not a great deal of space but at the price offered it cannot be faulted. If you want more space or longer then there is a Holiday Inn next door.
The breakfast was really nice, the only problem for the staff was that the clocks went forward the night we were there and therefore nearly all the hotel guests arrived for breakfast at the same time, it was full and the 2 staff were unable to keep up with clearing and keeping hot food in the trays.
I would recommend this hotel.
