Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The good and the bad Hotel was very clean, very friendly staff. That was the good. The bad was the breakfast. I understand that these hotels don't have executive chefs available to make breakfast for everyone but is it too much to ask that I not break a fork when trying to cut a biscuit. Gravy had no flavor, ran out of coffee on the second morning, no microwave to warm up a muffin. Did I mention they ran out of coffee on the second morning? Coffee!!!! This hotel was having a free pancake breakfast each night in the month of August from 8-12 pm. Nice perk to your stay except when I went to use the machine to make pancakes it was out of batter. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TOP SHELF EXPERIENCE Our stay at the Holiday Inn Express Texarkana East was very comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel. The mattress and bed was extremely comfortable and the AC efficient and cool, which was so important with 100 degree weather outside. The breakfast was inclusive and included hot food as well as the usual continental breakfast items. I would highly recommend this hotel. August 20, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I hope this is not typical My wife and I stayed here twice in the last month. The first time, there was no breakfast food available other than dry cereal. The person who was supposed to take care of this had apparently left, and the management had to bring in someone else. Either that, or the person doing the work was just that incompetent. About three weeks later, we passed through Texarkana again and decided to stop here again, figuring our first experience probably wouldn't be repeated. This time our room had very dim lighting and a bathroom door that wouldn't close. It was a good thing my wife and I are on good terms with each other, because privacy was out of the question. At least the bed was comfortable, and we slept well on both occasions. This is not uncommon among hotels at this price range, though, and we don't believe it makes it worth our while to stay here again. The next time we pass through Texarkana we will stay somewhere else. August 13, 2015
