First, we LOVE most all Holiday Inn Express hotels. Beds are always comfortable and showers are great. Breakfast varies from hotel to hotel, but normally pretty good. We have stayed at this hotel in the past. Once we booked a smoking room and upon arrival, they said they "gave our room away just before we arrived". I understand that this request is good if a room is available, but the staff was not polite about it at all. Another stay we found an old cleaning rag in the window. We reported it and the staff apologized. Finally, this last stay was the kicker. We arrived around 8pm and went straight to bed after traveling for 10 hours. When we got up the next morning we found the following....old (may have been used, I didn't touch them) tissues on top of the tissue box in the bathroom, dirty coffee pot, which we washed then found an old dried up coffee filter where you would pour the water, no cups by the ice bucket and the bucket was half full of melted ice. As well, a towel in the bath was not folded(rolled) like the others. Obviously, the room was half cleaned, at least I'm hoping the bed had been changed!! We also waited over 30 minutes for them to restock the breakfast foods and left without any. The attendant seemed to be visiting with friends. We spoke with the front desk when finding the issues with the room, and they asked us if we wanted something from the sweet shop, that they were supposed to give me sweet shop bucks upon arrival, but forgot. They said they were sorry they had not recognized me as a priority platinum member when we arrived. What a rip-off!! I did email this info to corporate office as well a few days ago, with no reply...yet.

Never wrote a review for a Hotel before, never saw any need to, But this place was Great!! We don't do Hotels much as we have an RV and that is normally our Lifestyle. Been doing a little Hoteling as of late, and this was a Wonderful Experience!! Never thought we could afford the HIE, but since we have been Priority Club Members we have really been enjoying all the the great places out there!! Texarkana being an exception, it was "" The Best"" First and foremost the Clerk that welcomed us started our first impression, then every thing fell into Great after that, The Breakfast Room is soooooo special, Fireplace, Modern in every way, and choices, and more choices as far as the Food, thank you, Texarkana!!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Alwaysworkingoutoftown Great room, great staff
We stay here often, 4 to 5 days at a time and the rooms are clean, comfortable and the front desk staff are generally helpful and friendly. The breakfast isn't always the freshest, the coffee not always hot and the fitness equipment (elliptical) is in desperate need of maintenance, but overall it's a good long term stay. For a one night stop over in Texarkana it's great.

I stay at this hotel often, and I am always pleased. The property and rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is pleasant and have always assisted when needed. The breakfast is GREAT! There are restaurants in close proximity to this hotel. and easy access to the interstate. I feel comfortable when traveling to this location alone.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DeanB50 Awesome Rooms great front desk service.
We stayed here for my wife's 50th Birthday with friends. We paid for an upgrade to a suite which was awesome. Everything was spectacular with the exception of the breakfast. The coffee was cold and most containers were empty. Not sure where the staff was for that morning.
The front desk arranged to have champagne and a Birthday card in the room when we got back from Dinner. May be one of the best Holiday Inns I have stayed at in along time.

The staff and management always provide me with the best of care and amenities when I'm in town. This was my second stay and with my company having a year long project in the area...it definitely will not be the last. Here's the kicker, I left something behind this time and they helped get it back to me within the week.
You don't get service like that anymore. Thanks again!

We have stayed at this hotel many times and each time it is a great experience. The staff is wonderful and friendly and the rooms are neat, clean and homey. We received an upgrade this time at no request of our and it was greatly appreciated! We always feel safe here and look forward to our next trip so we can stop and stay.

This one will be hard to describe because I've always loved staying at HIE hotels, but this one tops all stays ever! Great people, great hospitality, wonderful and warm welcome, and a great room! I've had upgrades before but this one was,...well, just awesome! I'll always stay at this hotel if I'm ever within 50 miles of here on any highway. What else can I say. It was the best! Thank you so very much!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Inconsistent staff and services
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the last year and the thing that is most noticeable is the inconsistency from one stay to the next. I stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels quite often, however this is the ONLY one I have been to that will SOMETIMES refuse to make the bed if something is on the bed. Since I am usually traveling alone I sleep on one side of the bed and put my stuff on the other. Most of the time this is not a problem, the housekeeping staff will make up my side of the bed, on my most recent stay at this hotel I had a note that they could not make the bed because "We cant touch yalls things". I don't mind playing by the rules, but be consistent with the rules.
The room was not very clean, especially the bathroom that had someones used soap and HAIR in the bathtub/shower.
My other complaint is that when I stayed at this hotel October 12 there was a Managers Reception offered from 5-7 pm. With my most recent stay (November 13-15) there was not a reception and when I inquired no one acted like they had a clue what I was talking about.
The front desk staff changes rapidly at this hotel, there are always employees in training, which is understandable, but there should always be knowledgeable people at the front desk.
I have recommended this hotel in the past, but probably will not do so in the future.

Ok... The girl working the front desk at check-in was awesome. She cancelled my reservation at another hotel for me, got me checked in, found a room with a king size bed and took my information for a wake-up call. And I was here for an early check-in because I got into town several hours before expected.
The hallways were by far the brightest I have seen in the past 3 years of travelling for business. The property feels very safe. Now for the bad... I never received my wakeup call, there was hair on my towels and the room smelled musky, almost like B.O. I always stay at HIE for business travel, and the bed on this stay felt like it had plastic under the sheets. It made a lot of noise and was very uncomfortable. I didn't both to find out more because i had already unpacked everything and was climbing into bed aroudn midnight; was not in the mood to change rooms. This stay started off wonderful and seemed to take step backwards at each turn.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Northyork Dairy creamer in the room w/o refrigeration???
I loved the idea of the Keurig coffee maker in the room however, this was accompanied with dairy coffee creamer just sitting in the room (unrefrigerated). When I added it to my first cup of coffee, I could tell it was spoiled. I called down for fresh creamer which was never delivered to the room. When I addressed it with the front desk, they explained to me that it wasn't an issue for the creamer to sit out in the room - despite the creamer package clearly stating that it needed to be refrigerated.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by JMP3004 Strange Holiday Inn
This was a new property and the people were friendly but they had the strangest rules, for instance I left my jacket, a work coat, on the foot of the bed and they left a note saying they were sorry but they couldn't make the bed because the coat was there and they were not allowed to move it.
Seems strange that this is the only Holiday Inn I have stayed at that has these rules for their customers.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by PJ33 Good and average
I have stayed here twice now with different experiences.
The first time was perfect. It was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The junior suite was very large and comfortable, clean and quiet. The second time we used priority points and reserved a room with 2 beds. The size of the room was what you would expect, it was quiet and comfortable. However, the toliet flushed so forcefully it splashed on the floor, the plug on the drain in the tub would not close all the way so we could not take a bath, there were used soap bars in the tub/bath upon arrival and the carpect needed vacuuming. Most disturbing, was that ABC went on the blink during a VERY important football game that we had been looking foreward to watching. We had to go to a resturant and spend more money to watch the game. The desk clerk insisted it was the network, not the hotel cable-however it was being broadcasted everywhere else in Texarkana.
