We stayed here in 2002. This time we stayed there for my dad's funeral. What a change since then. The hotel looks run down from what I remember. Our room was on the 3rd floor right next to the elevator. Thought that would be a problem but it was fine, not noisy at all. But you could smell the smoke and the dampness as soon as we walked into the room. We decided to stay in the room as we were only going to be there 2 days.
I had reservations for one room for 2 nights and 2 rooms for one night (one for my sister). When my sister went to check into the second room they told her there was no room reserved under her name or my name. I waited at the front desk for at least 15 minutes for someone to appear to help me. We needed to use the computer in the lobby to make a CD for a presentation. There was no sound and the front desk person said there was nothing she could do. She was not going to make any effort to help us. On the other hand, the people who work the breakfast in the morning were very helpful and accommodating.
The gym is should not be called a gym or fitness room or whatever it is called. There is a treadmill, a cross trainer and a bike. No free weights or other workout equipment.
I would not stay at this hotel again.

The staff and hotel were great. Because of the rain, I was there for some baseball games, I got a chance to kick back and relax, in the room. I was very clean and really quiet.

The worst part about my experience was making the reservation and checkin. The website stated a pet fee of $45 per stay for 2 pets. When I called the hotel she said she didn't know that policy and she would accept $55 even though the site said it was a different rate. I also requested a higher floor. When I checked in she said that "people have allergies so that's not possible sorry" crudely. The location was fine but the staff needs some training. The treats in the lobby were a nice touch. Also ever since I made my reservation I started getting text messages about free vacations. I think the sell your info.

I stay in Hilton hotels very often. I have never had an experience like this one. The room was large and carpet and drapes appeared new - -- however, the mildew order was SO STRONG. I asked the front desk to have the housekeeping staff to address that - - seemingly no change. I bought aerosol can of room neutralizer and used the whole can - - burned 3 candles in the room and used a plug in air freshener. Two other strangers to me staying in other rooms indicated their rooms also had strong odors.

We have been in the Villages since 1998 and have seen the building of Holiday Inn Express...first time anyone stayed there...
It is a well worn facility..I had to dial up the phone, only to find that
the clerk was the one visiting with a couple of young gentlemen in the drive thru...she saw us come in....she told us that she assisting other clients...sure...right..?

This is an old HE, which I was somewhat surprised being that it is in The Villages, which is such a nice place. As far as HE's go, this one is a little below average. Front desk staff were disinterested, or appeared to be upon check in and check out. A little surprising.

Had to come up for a sudden funeral. Room was clean and quiet, comfortable. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Breakfast area was clean and offered enough variety. Wall tv available with current news.

Unfortunately there was a huge LOUD portable dehumidifier in my room. I turned it off when I was not there but the room became very musty. The bed linens were yellowed with stains. The pool was surrounded by a bed of weeds. Overall this place was a bust. I would NOT stay there again.

The mattress could have been softer and the air conditioner quieter. Why was there a dehumidifier in the room which was noisy and blocked easy access to the bathroom? The toilet could have used a toilet seat.

From arrival to my late checkout, everthing was better than I could have hoped for....front desk was super, priority club membership fast tracked my registration, breakfast was hot and
tasty & had everthing that I could have wanted. The property
looked as though it had recently had renovations since all the
common areas including the room was clean and updated, (no
worn furniture or carpets or dingy bath appliances...a big plus)
Will certainly return here next time we visit the area.

We need to stay for a few days as we were having construction done at our house and need our dogs needed taken care of . The hotel was clean and the room quiet. Everyone slept well. The front desk was very helpful. P by allowing us to come in a little earliers. My only suggestion would be to have a trash can in the back so when we pick up after the dog we can dispose of it not bringing it to the room. We recommend this hotel in the Villages.

You can walk to Spanish Springs and not too hard to get to Sumpter. The Villages is getting pretty well built up. Traffic can be a problem during Spring Break. Need reservations for dinner.
Motel is really nice but time to refurbish.

My wife and I stayed just one night. We would have stayed more, but we had to get back home. Our stay was very nice and relaxing. The breakfast was just what we needed. I do recommend this motel for anyone.

Reservation & check-in process worked smoothly, Mgmt seemed to be glad we were there..
Driver's car was equipped with a Garmon GPS device and he trusted it explicitly. Garmon could not find property even when the address wa keyed in.

our stay with you was very pleasant. Our car battery died during our stay, and the manager used his own car to give us a jump. I didn't get his name, but what service! Thank you so much. Were planning a visit next year and will be staying with you again.

The manager, Dave and his staff were very friendly and helpful.
We will be going back next year.
The only issue was that the room to room insulation was not real good. i.e. you could hear the people next door.

Originally tried to check in at 1:30 pm and room was not ready. No problem, went and had lunch. Came back at 3:20 - Check in time is 3pm and the room was not ready. The room was not ready until 4 pm. The front desk person seemed annoyed when we came back, and didn't seem to care. Don't you think that if we tried to check in early, they might have had the room cleaned by 3 pm. Both chairs in the room were broken one got fixed. I am a platinum member and was not recognized as such. Had to ask 2 times to have the AC looked at.
I will say that when we asked to extend our stay an extra day the gentleman at the front desk was able to get it done, even though it was peak season.
I am planning another trip and am really uneasy about staying at this holiday inn.

Our beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. Good breakfast and a good location, near restaurants and the Village Square.
Our only complaint was there was no recognition of Priority members and no USA Today available, only the Village paper.

Standard hotel stuff; good room, good bed, clean.
Hotel gym was rather weak. 1 treadmill, 1 bike, and 1 elliptical. No weights.
Hot tub had a little funky smell (maybe it's just Florida). Above-ground type. . . eh.

Went above and beyond to honor my request to make sure the room was free of any allergens (highly allergic to scents of any kind). Comfortable bed, friendly staff and recognition of priority club members. Newly remodeled room and very quiet. Didn't eat breakfast there do to meeting relatives at another location. Definitely would stay there again.

My husband has been a priorty club member for twenty years and this the FIRST Holiday Inn NOT recogzize his extensive travel and use of Holiday Inn over his extended military career and provide a "government rate" As a result, this facility was on the very HIGH end for nightly rates for us. the Manager of the facility was too busy on the phone to converse with us about the requested rate and put a staff person in the position of refusing to recognize a reduced rate. We also belong to Marriot's Club which has a beautiful facility just down the street--guess were dollars will be spent next visit? Wish we would have seen it first!
