I have stayed here many times. they are in the middle of upgrading the property and that is good as it needed it. My only concern is the work out room. The treadmills are old and the belts slip so you cannot run on them.

Checked in at front desk. Person (may have been manager) took our information. Did not mention that we were platinum members. Did not seem to recognize that we asked for a quiet room on an upper floor. Assigned us a room next to elevator on second floor. Not happy with the situation, but had to run to an appointment.
Came back and was greeted at the front desk by "Jessie". She saved the day: thanked us for our loyalty; looked up our reservation and apologized for room location; assigned us another room very much to our liking. She is a credit to Holiday Inn and the Priority Club as a whole.
Night manager was also extremely helpful in every way.

If I ever travel through Topeka this is where I plan to stay. Staff was very courteous and helpful. We were traveling through and we appreciated the location as well. Lots of restaurants near by yet the hotel was 'off' the busyness so liked the quiet. Nice rooms, probably nicer soon since they are remodeling. Thanks HIE staff in Topeka.

My family and I enjoyed the stay at HI express in Topeka. The Breakfast selection have improved. Would like to have seen a microwave there.But the front desk was very kind to reheat the cold Oatmeal for my kids. The towels are much better and preferred over similar hotels at another major chain.

Glad I picked this hotel vs. other locations! I was in town for a family emergency and had to pick a hotel on-line, not knowing anything about the area. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful giving me directions to find my way around town. The location is off a main street where you will find all the restaurants and stores you would need. I would recommend this hotel!

Even with remodeling underway it was hard to tell. The Staff was excellent offering a beverage upon our arivial and asking if there was anything they could do to make our stay relaxing.
Morning food and coffee was presented very well and was a perfect start of the day. This location is perfect, close to freeway and almost anything else (food, entertainmant and shopping).

We usually like to stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels but this one was unusual. They were in the middle of a remodel and we are still not sure whether we were in a remodeled room, a partially remodeled room or one that still hadn't been worked on. The desk unit along the one wall covered the whole wall and was bar heighth rather than counter height. To compensate for this high counter, they pushed a rolling table under one end of the counter to be rolled out (to the bed to be useable and then blocked the walkway) and used for the computer. This was very inconvenient and really didn't make any sense at all. The flat screen TV was quite nice but my husband had to call the desk to ask how to turn the thing on. And where was the easy chair that we are accustomed to?
Usually our stays at Holiday Inn Express hotels are uneventful but this hotel has left us wondering what they were thinking when they installed this furniture. There was also never any mention when we checked in that the pool was under renovation; might have been nice to share that little tidbit as we like to soak in the hot tub at night and just assumed that the pool was operational.
Also the breakfast was good but the biscuits could have been used as hockey pucks. Guess they had been sitting out there for quite a while since the hotel was not very busy.

This is by far the best motel we have ever stayed in. The rooms have been updated to meet the needs of today. The beds are the best hotel beds we have ever had and we have stayed in some 5 star hotels. The staff is great and friendly from the desk to the room staff. Lamps on the headboard direct light to the book you are reading while your bed partner can sleep in darkness or watch TV. Excellent breakfast with coffee and tea 24 hours. Of course computer friendly with WiFi and a great office chair and desk to work from.

This is an older property that is nearing the end of a very nice renovation. You could tell all of the beds, furniture, fixtures, etc were very new. Big Plus for all of that. And it is very convenient being literally 1 stoplight off the highway. Big Plus there too. This was also the first time at a HIE where I was given a beverage at checkin for being a Priority Club member. All of my paperwork was also ready to go when I arrived. The only CON would be the road noise from the trucks on the highway kept waking up all night. If they replaced the windows that problem would likely go away. till then, i think i'd ask for a room on the opposite side of the building (front side, away from the highway).

I was in town for business. Despite ongoing construction, the room was quiet and dust free. When I checked out my last day I forgot my laptop and left it in the room. I packed up and left for home 200 miles away. I didn't discover my loss until 12 hours later. Housekeeping had delivered it to the front desk in its travel case untouched. What a relief! With professional staff like this, I will be back.

the staff was gracious and accommodating. A greeting rendered whether coming and going and apologetic that their property was under renovation and attempting to limit the effects thereof.

Everything was as expected with a more than normal quiet room with the exception of a drunk wedding party that set off the fire alarm at 3:30 a.m. but this was no fault of the staff who made many appologies in the morning. Breakfast was as good as usual and the manager on staff was very helpfull in making sure the pancake machine was operating correctly including making pancakes for my daughter.
