Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RDRICT It's a great place to stay.....
Erik and the staff at the Wheeling/Triadelphia location make your stay very comfortable. The hotel is very quiet and the housekeeping staff keep the rooms very clean and stocked up very nicely. The beds are super comfortable and rooms are large. The morning breakfast is always fresh and hot, Kelly keeps the dining room very clean, I swear she never stops moving. I would highly recommend this hotel for your next trip...its a great place to stay!
There is a cheaper hotel in the area, and others are much more expensive, you get what you pay for and this one is just right.

I was very impressed with this Holiday Inn. It's new and the improvements in hotel design are obvious here. Great layout in the rooms. We had 2 queen beds, flat screen tv with a coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator below in a cabinet, desk, 2 chairs, a lounge chair with ottoman, and another bench! Even with all that it didn't feel crowded. There was plenty of room to move around, without stumbling over stuff. The closet was spacious and the bathroom, too. I really like the complimentary soap, shampoo, etc. that is provided. The packaging is botanical with a touch of luxury. It looks very upscale. The beds were wonderful, but I would like softer pillows. They provide 2 soft and 2 firm pillows for each bed, but the soft ones are not soft enough for me. That's why I usually bring my own. The breakfast was out of this world. Very impressive spread including bacon, eggs, waffles, fruit, cereal, yogurt, a variety of pastries (excellent cinnamon rolls). This shopping center has lots of amenities. Definitely will stay here again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Inspector023 Conforms to Holiday Inn standards of quality
I have stayed at this particular facility four times for a total of 15 days since they opened. The staff is friendly and as helpful as they can be. The rooms are clean and pleasant to walk into after a long day on the road. The facilities are well maintained and clean. The indoor pool and exercise room are very nice and user friendly. Breakfast hours are generous, serving early and late risers as well. Shopping is just across the highway which has very easy access. I will continue to stay here whenever business brings me to the Wheeling area.

We stopped at this hotel on the way to Washington DC from the Chicago area. It was very convenient to get to from the highway and get right back on the next day. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was good.

We had a pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Wheeling. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I would have given the hotel 5 stars if the breakfast choices were better. Holiday Inn Express needs to revamp their continental breakfast. In particular, the so-called omelet with cheese whiz is horrendous.

I have stayed at this location on many Occasions, all work related. Hot tub is a nice big round size. The staff that I have interacted with have always been nice & polite. Have never had any problems that were not dealt with in a timely manner. Facility, is a newer one and management has recently changed. The location is convinient to a lot of restaurants and shopping.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jazzmine Nice Hotel
We went to the Highlands to celebrate my husband's birthday and were pleased with this hotel. Will, front desk, was very helpful with our room arrangements and check-in. Our king feature room had two TVs, microwave and fridge. I appreciated the free Wi-Fi, many places charge for this service now. The room was clean and comfortable. We spent four hours at the pool area. It was very relaxing. I liked that they did not have music playing, like many hotels do. There is a patio area off the pool with a table and chairs. It seems to be for employee breaks. The hotel could improve the area with a few umbrellas and potted plants. It would be nice to have an outdoor area for guests. I went out to sit at the table, then realized there was no room key entry back to the pool area. The breakfast had many options and was good. This hotel is on the other side of the interstate from all of the shops and restaurants, so it was very quiet.

Use laptop quite a bit for business when staying at hotels and depend on their wireless internet. This hotel had a very poor connection and signal, making for very slow service.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by AngiePR Stay somewhere else instead
We stayed at another property in Wheeling on the way to the East Coast, but it was booked on our trip home, so we stayed here instead. Although the common areas and our room were very attractive and well maintained, the service was very poor. 1. We checked in at 9:30 on a Saturday night and there was one person staffing the desk and answering two phone lines. We had to wait about 15 minutes to check in, when we were hungry and cranky. I understand that sometimes crowds appear unexpectedly, but honestly, why did they not have another person scheduled to work on Saturday night? 2. My husband was awoken by housekeeping Sunday morning around 9 because we didn't have a do not disturb tag for the door. I had gotten up around 8 to work out, and there was not a single do not disturb sign on any doors on our floor, leading me to believe that the hotel does not make them readily available. After my husband was woken up, I asked a housekeeper for a tag and explained what had happened, and she mumbled an insincere apology. 3. The hotel is supposed to be 100% smoke free but it was clear someone right off the third floor elevator was smoking in their room. I know managers can't prevent this, but if staff members were walking around monitoring the property they would know and should take care of it immediately, not just fine people. 4. The breakfast was very heavy on carbs, not good if you are gluten free (like our family) or just trying to watch carb intake. There were pancakes, pastries, biscuits, gravy and sugary cereals. They had hard boiled eggs and scrambled eggs, but the scrambled eggs tasted like they had been made from powdered eggs. 5. The breakfast bar staff person seemed overworked and hassled. There was not a drop of water in the hot water caraf, so I went to the front desk for assistance. After the clerk went into the back room to ask the breakfast bar assistant to fill up the caraf, he came back out and did it himself. I understand when you have a mob of people on Sunday morning that it's hard to keep up, but I think they needed a second person for the peak times. In fact, when my husband came down later to get coffee and accidentally spilled it because 3 different coffee cups had holes in the bottom, she came to clean it up and seemed indifferent to the problem, as if cups with holes and resulting spills are a common occurrence. 6. The sofa in our suite did not have a pull out bed. We made reservations via my iPhone while on the road, and I didn't know for sure from the web descriptions if the sofa had a bed, but we paid extra for the suite and my daughter had to curl up on the sofa. I asked the night clerk for a rollaway, and he said they didn't have any. We paid more for this room than we did for the other hotel the week before, and the other hotel had much better service and amenities for the same price. I realize many people would be perfectly happy with the breakfast choices and would think that being awoken at 9 a.m. is not a huge deal, but in comparison with the other hotel, this is inferior. I also believe that if some of these service and staffing issues are not resolved, then more customers will probably be dissatisfied. An attractive facility is only one part of the equation.

Only needed a night in the area and this was an "exceeds expectation" experience. Easy to get to, well maintained, nice amenities - pool, hot tub, exercise room & breakfast. The room was immaculate, comfortable and quiet. The location was close to restaurants and interesting shopping. I would stay there again if back in the area.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Leo716 Hotel Good Overall - Housekeeping Lacking.
We stayed for 8 nights and had difficulty getting the room cleaned in a timely manner on all but 1 day. Actually, the room wasn't cleaned at all for 3 nights. My wife, halfway through the stay, finally had to ask for clean sheets. The front desk did have someone bring towels and empty overflowing trash on the days housekeeping did not show. We were told there was an unexpected personnel problem.
The bed and the room was very comfortable and the bath had good hot water and good water pressure. The hotel itself appeared clean and check-in was not a problem.

We stayed at the Wheeling Holiday Inn Express twice in the last 2 weeks. Both times we had a good experience and I would recommend this hotel. Queen size beds, a microwave/refrigerator and thermostat controled AC unit made the room very comfortable for my family. My children loved the pool. It was clean and well maintained. Cons: The vending machine on our floor was not working either stay. Also, the breakfast selections are fairly poor...even for a Holiday Inn Express type hotel. There was very little fresh fruit. The cereal options were mostly sugary type cereals. The only bread offered was too big to fit in the toaster, etc. But given that breakfast was free, I guess you can't complain too much.

The staff were extremely polite & helpful & they continued to be this way my whole stay. The room was excellent, super clean, great bed, and robust shower. I am not a morning person & a cup of coffee & hot shower is what gets me going. The hotel delivered on both. I will stay there again on my next trip to the Wheeling area.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by larry7 Great room, but poor housekeeping service
The room was great, but housekeeping services were poor. We stayed for 3 nights and had difficulty getting the room cleaned in a timely manner on all 3 nights. On one night, we did not receive regular services at all. The front desk manager had to come up to bring towels and empty garbage. In general, the front desk staff was exceptional in their efforts to provide services.
We should have been "comped" given the poor cleaning service!

We stayed at the property Sunday July 28-Tuesday July 30. We left the property to go shopping on Monday & they moved all of our belongings out of our room because they thought we were only staying for 1 night. The manager, who checked us in & specifically made our keys for 2 nights, didn't even apologize. He tried to blame the mix up on other staff. I would definitely not recommend staying at this property!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mac47 Great Service at front desk
I don't know what it is about your hotels but you always have the most pleasant front desk people. They always have a smile and are very helpful. I don't remember the young man's name the night we checked in and got one of the last rooms but he held his composure and was so pleasant to each guest. Like always I am truly amazed with the hotels service. Your breakfast is also one of the nicest we have had while we travel through the USA.
Thanks again !!!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by shanghaiguy Neglectful and rude staff
I had a sprained ankle and was on crutches. I asked the front desk for a cork screw. The person on front desk said that a customer took it a week before, and they didn't have one. She gave me some suggestions where to go buy one.
Frustrated by the poor response, I called from the room and asked for the manager, who was the same person. I again asked her if she could get a cork screw as it was difficult for me to move around. The manager replied "Honey, I told you we don't have any cork screws"! I really hate being called "honey" in this way. A large hotel not having a cork screw for a week, and merely telling me to go out and buy one, showed poor management and customer service.

I stayed 2 nights for business. I am a platinum elite member, so I stay at a lot of hotels. Things started bad and just got worse. When I tried to check in, they said no rooms were ready (this was 35 mins after the check-in time)! They ended up giving me a king bed instead of 2 queen beds/suite. The next morning, when I had the do not disturb sign on my door, a housekeeper knocked on my door, asking when I was going to leave. I wasn't checking out until the next day! I tried to print a document in the business center - no paper and both printers had no ink! When I went to check out the next day, the staff were very rude and gave me $12 off my stay for dealing with this! No - do not stay here!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Zamboni Nice new Facility, close to highway
We stopped here on our road trip. The staff was good at the front desk, but not over the top. The breakfast bar lady however was superb. Extremely friendly, helpful and kept the food fresh and the area clean.
The pool was nice and the rooms were too. A good amount of eating choices nearby, a perfect place to stop for a night on the road.
There is apparently a lot of oil/gas exploration work going on in the area, most of the hotel was booked by those folks. That was fine, but room availability might be an issue over the next few months.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MOG0803 Decent accomodations
This was a standard Holiday Inn Express experience in a fairly new building. It was very clean and in good condition.
HI needs to improve signage to entrance driveway - somewhat confusing. (Also, use hotel web directions - our GPS sent us to wrong location when street address was plugged in)
Noise in hallways clearly audible inside the room - not great for 6 AM.
Could have used a little broader choice in breakfast menu, but the staff person was really hustling to bring in newly prepared food when the dining area was full of folks eating an early breakfast.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RandM Nice room layout, breakfast questionable
We really liked the layout of the room, with the frig and microwave in its own area. Had a nice roomy living area. We had trouble getting the room air comfortable, it was either too cold or too warm, couldn't seem to figure out how to keep it consistent. We went for breakfast around the middle of breakfast time and we noticed there wasn't staff around. There was an empty egg container but we figured someone was just getting them. There was no milk in the refrigerator. Several of the tables needed cleaned off. We saw other staff coming and going but half way through our meal, still no kitchen staff and no eggs. Other people were asking the other staff for help in cleaning off tables. By the time we finished our meal someone was finally bringing eggs and milk.
