My wife and I stay every month of the year for one night at your hotel. On our last trip on May 4th, we arrived at Piarco and called for the shuttle at exactly 9:12pm (the time is on the cell phone). We were told that the van was already there and we waited patiently for 20 minutes, until I called again. Then we were told that the van had returned early and that we would have to wait until 10:15pm. It is outrageous that we had to wait for over an hour by the airport sidewalk (for fear of missing the shuttle), when what we needed was an early bed, in order to wake up at 5:00am the next morning. We believe that this new shuttle schedule will spoil our hotel experience, and are looking for other alternatives, for us and for all the friends to whom we've recommended the Holiday Inn. Traveling is already enough of an ordeal, and we believe that it is not only very tiresome, but also very dangerous, to wait for an hour on the street, to be picked up by the hotel. It defeats the whole purpose of an airport hotel.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by girl123456789 O.K. Place with No Internet
This is a very standard HIExpress. Room was nice enough. A little musky and stale. Breakfast was bare - no fruits, toasters did not work, coffee was horribly sour.
The worst part was NO INTERNET. It's a joke. They "have it", but I got no work done. With that many business travellers not having other Internet on the island, the hotel should make it available. They have plugs in the room that don't work. They pretended that I could come down to the front desk and they would fix it -- but then I heard from repeat travellers that it hasn't worked for years. Wish they would have been honest instead of lying and saying that this is a one-time problem. People crowd around the lobby and breakfast room to attempt to get wireless. Mine was SO slow it was worthless.
This was a dealbreaker for me - a Platinum Elite Priority Club member. I am always going to stay in Port of Spain at the nice hotels. Even the Capital Plaza has internet.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Annash This is indeed the ideal, tranquil place, when you feel the need to slip away from it all.
I had the opportunity of staying at this hotel during the period 18th February, 2013 -21st February, 2013. My boyfriend was here for work , and I had the opportunity to enjoy all the amenities that were offered. Complimentary breakfast was great. I'm very conscious about healthy eating, and the breakfast choices kept this in mind. Our room was exceptional. It was on the ground floor, yet cosy and elegant.
The staff was really warm and friendly. I even became friends with a member of the house keeping staff, Syliva. She did a tremendous job. Everyday she made sure I wasn't in need of anything. She helped to make my stay more comfortable. Despite being alone during the day, Syliva helped to give me that feeling of being home, even though I was away from home. I even left her a special ' Thank You', and a note when we checked out.
The view was captivating. What supprised me the most was, how quiet and remote the location was. This is indeed the ideal, tranquil place, when you feel the need to slip away from it all. There is no noise of the traffic from the nearby highway. The scenery is breath taking. The shuttle service is great, if you need to go to the nearby mall it takes you, and picks you back up.
WIFI service was very low and couldn't be accessed at our room. Nevertheless, a plug in port was available in our room. I would however, recommend a more in fresh fruits, besides apples available at breakfast. Fresh muffins should be available every morning, like those you'd pick up at a cafe' or nearby bakery. Bottled water should be available in your room upon check in, and not go to the front dest if you needed a bottle of water. A much stronger server, with router be installed so to ensure, that WIFI be accessed from your room without having to access it from the lobby area. This needs to be taken into consideration.
Would me and my boyfriend revisiting this establishment? Most definitely! I know what it is like to check out a hotel, read the reviews and get cold feet. Holiday Inn Express Hotel, have risen above my expectation. Looking for that next big get away? You have my review, now you decide.

Stayed for a week for carnival and will likely return for carnival 2014, depending on rates.
Remotely located from POS but shuttle service to airport and local businesses is available. However, shuttle pickup from airport was not extended to me when reservation was made.
Internet room access, though slow, was a plus. Increasing speed would be welcomed.
Overall, a good stay.
