The Holiday Inn express is truly the place to visit for that deserved get away. Desde hace un año me quedo aca e ido observando como van decayendo las instalaciones, los muebles y las alfombras en los cuartos. Pienso no hospedarme mas ahi, recomendaria a mi empresa un cambio . Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Greatly Satifsying Stay The room, staff, food, and accommodations were exceptional. The room very clean, comfortable, and decorated tastefully. Due to the location there was no outside noise noticeable at night so we slept peacefully. The front office staff were extremely courteous and helpful with insight into local foods, attractions, and customs. The stay was excellent! April 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unhappy with condition of rooms The grounds were beautiful and the hotel lobby areas were very nice. The eating area was large and nice and clean. The quality of the food was great, but the variety was minimal as we had the same food everyday. We had a number of problems including: a/c not functioning properly and needing to be moved; ant infestation that was 'cleaned', then came back the next day; paid for a room with two beds, but ended up sleeping on a sofa bed. The hotel staff made a small effort to mitigate these things, but for the price of the hotel, and the low level of amenities at this hotel, we did not receive any of the value that we were paying for. The staff were for the most part great (with the exception of a few of the female front desk staff that were cold and unapproachable). We do not think that we will be staying here on future stays. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average As a Gold Elite member I do know Holiday Inn standards. Overall my stay was ok since there aren't much choices near Piarco airport to have any competition to raise standards. The shuttle drivers were very good and helpful -thanks, since this hotel is in the "middle of nowhere" . We did walk to the Trincity mall one day and that was ok. We always felt safe and the locals were friendly in this part of town. Tip - you can take the hotel shuttle back to the airport and organize all your side trips from the airport. Plz tip the drivers since they try hard. The breakfast choices at this hotel were juts not good, they were constantly running out of items and staff while polite and helpful were not in a rush to replenish items. One has to constantly ask. Oh, please bring your own jam and jellies. This hotel provide none even though they have a good selection of toasts and Trinidad makes excellent local jams. IHG needs to offer more local items on the breakfast menu, as T&T is famous for their local food. Sunday am they offered a tuna "mash" and that was excellent!! The check-in staff were very courteous but they are handicapped by Housekeeping (HK). HK, while they are friendly, are in their "own world" and have no sense of urgency. Even after 6pm they are slowly cleaning rooms -This I have never seen in a USA IHG hotel. HK didn't clean our room on the Saturday even though we spoke with HK staff twice plus placed the card on the door. HK manager needs to seriously improve and be given a watch or other timepiece. My friends who arrived at 1pm had to wait past 5pm for their room to be ready (on a Friday). Overall our stay was very good apart from the HK items mentioned. The staff certainly tries for you and all were very courteous. We will certainly stay here again now that we are more aware. April 3, 2015
