Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quills ALWAYS a GREAT experience at ANY Holiday Inn (or Express)
Don't take the sleep quality issue the wrong way, I have a very hard time sleeping in any hotel. My sleep issues have nothing to do with this hotel.
Overall, a GREAT stay! I love Holiday Inns and HI Expresses for their QUALITY breakfast and consistently high quality rooms. This property delighted me and provided exactly what I was expecting.
-A very satisfied customer!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by maradona66 My last stay at Holiday Inn
I had the pleasure to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Troutdale over tle last weekend. We made a habit of staying at the Holiday Inn recently and, overall, we had an enjoyable stay.
The only problem, which was addressed by the staff and corrected promptly, was the fact that our initial room smelled really weird (more than probably from cigarette smoke remains) and my wife (who is very sensitive was very troubled by it), also the kids and myself noticed it and didn't like it. After we changed the room, everything got back to normal. therefore the positive reviews that I put here so far.
Overall, we liked it and we will continue staying at the Holiday Inn Express.

First, I enjoy HIE hotels because I always know exactly what I'm getting. I love the beds and pillows and the cleanliness. I've stayed at the Troutdale, OR HIE several times because I've found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The location is convenient to the charming main street of Troutdale, is near the Outlet stores, and close to areas I like to hike and explore. Cinemas and shopping are close-by as well. It's a great value for the price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by kdconesmom beautiful area to visit
HI Express offers one of the best peaceful, clean, safe places to stay... This one had a lot of construction; once it is complete, it will be much easier to get to.
The only issue I had was the price for their "pet friendly" option... $25 per pet / per night is a little high. The manager was very professional and kind and after discussing he charged 25 per night. I will select another pet friendly hotel if I have pets and I will read HI pet information better; they all charge different fees.
This area is so beautiful. It is the 5th best place in the US to see the changing of the leaves. Old Hwy 30 and Multnomah Falls is worth the trip...

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ebartman Good value overall, pleasant stay
Overall this is a good value with clean rooms, good variety of breakfast items, heated pool and hot tub, quick access to freeway, good variety of channels (but no HGTV!). Staff was great upon check in, but during the course of our stay the service was a little indifferent when we brought up two issues that were just kind of brushed aside. Despite this non-service, we would still stay here again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by RMTB2015 Old Remodel
This particular hotel is independently owned and operated under the HEI name. It was pretty apparent that this was the case. The attention to detail was not there. The room was an obvious attempt to bring the style of HIE to an older, dated hotel.
The remodel work was superficial only, and a weak attempt to make it feel equal to other HIE hotels.

I would recommend this hotel! It was close to shopping, as well as many good restaurants.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jonny08 Not up to the HIE standard
It was painful to stay at the Troutdale, OR location. There was mold growing in the shower, and judging by the allergies I suffered from all night, it was probably growing other places as well. (Allergies cleared up as soon as I checked out.) Everything was just very low quality, from the towels and ironing board, to the missing door stoppers and misaligned HIE sign in the lobby. This place is more like a $39/night hotel masquerading as a HIE than an actual HIE.
