Free breakfast was wonderful. Room was a good size. AC unit was a little noisy but not bad. No other complaints.

Yep there were bugs in our room. My sister and I didn't see them at first. But in the middle of the night, bathroom visits reveal hundreds of tiny mite-like crawly things. They just seemed to be in the bathroom and not in the beds. Couldn't tell about the floor. Yucks, folks. When we tried to tell the front desk when we were leaving, we couldn't find anyone to tell this to and we certainly didn't feel like waiting around. We stayed somewhere else on our return trip.

We stayed just one night. Room was comfy and even though situated close to Interstate, the noise was minimal. It was great the Old Country Buffet was right next door. Pool a bit small and there was no recognition for priority club membership.

The staff was a little slow on waiting on me. In fact it took a little while for someone to appear at the front desk. I actually, almost went to a neighboring motel. When somebody finally came to the desk, the check-in was average. The room was very spacious, comfortable & clean. Which for me matters the most. Very comfortable nights sleep. I would stay again.

There is no excuse for IHG's website not to advise visitors that the property is under construction. If HIX does not want to lose guests, it could give a lower rate or even more priority award points for the inconvenience. We did not know about the construction until we arrived after the 6pm cancellation cutoff. IHG can do better than this.
No complains about the staff. Jayme was very nice and apologetic--just too late.

Arrived and found out the property was undergoing renovations, so had to maneuver around boxes of tile and other items. We went to our room and found the door was propped open, so we did not enter. Had to go back to the front desk and get a new room. We were "upgraded" to a suite. The room was definitely dated, ceiling was peeling, bathroom walls were in need of repair -- overall just in general need of attention. Okay stay, staff was friendly.

I choose to stay with your brand because I never seem to be disappointed. that changed with my stay at the property in Troy Illinois. the property was run down, smelled of disinfectant, the bed was hard and lumpy and at the price I paid, i felt cheated..
I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS PROPERTY AGAIN! i am also rethinking my loyalty to the brand.

I stayed here two nights with my son. It was crazy packed with kids...wrestling tournaments, cheer, gymnastics. You could hear kids running up and down the hall all hours of the night. Could not use to pool because there were so many kids. All of this I know the hotel can not be responsible for. However, the room was not very clean. The heater made noises all night that kept me up and when you have to get up at 5 it makes an early morning. The sheets smelled so much like bleach that it made me sick to my stomach. The first night check in was smooth...came back to the hotel later that next day and my key did not work....had to pack all my stuff and a tired kid back down the elevator to have my key redone....I will not stay here again.

Check in was just outstanding with Jamey working the front desk. Jamey was very outgoing and made check in very smooth. There was really no work area in the room just a very small table and two are chairs. One of the chairs was broken and Jamey gave us a armless chair to replace it. Founf the Breakfast buffet to be very short on food. Another guest came to the breakfast bar around 8:45 and the bar was out of hard boiled eggs, hot egges and other items. She asked the hostess if she would be putting out some more food. She brought out some hard boiled aggs but that was it. She informed the guest that she had done all the cooking for the day. I think a trip to Cracker Barrel across the street is the best bet. I was then even surprised to have housekeeping knocking at our door at 9:05am to ask if we had left yet. Checkout time is noon why check at 9am. I have worked as an AGM in hotels and we always checked the rooms that we did not know if the guest had left after the check out time not before. When I was in the hall I noticed that there was 2 people going into the rooms to clean them. One was a woman in uniform and the other not in any type of uniform. What bothered me about this was the one without a uniform had a very big shoulder bag with her. What is to say that she might put something in her bag from a stayover room. Check out in the morning was also outstanding. We can not give enough credit to the front desk staff.

Each time I visit Hol. Inn Exp. in Troy is a great experience.
The beds are great but I feel more important to me is the friendliness of the staff. All shifts give you the same experience, it doesn't matter if you check in early or late. they are always pleasant and accomodating. I never have an issue that isn't taken care of . That's why I stay there about 30 times a year.
