Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tucson Stay Rooms were clean, furniture updated and clean. Facility was very nice and close enough to local food stops within walking distance. We have stayed there serveral times and no issues to complain about at all. March 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service When we checked in your staff helped with our bags. This was the first time any one at Holiday Inn helped us. As seniors we appreciate the help. We will diffentely be back to the Holiday Inn in Tucson. Thank you March 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely, hassle free stay Great customer service, nice room, super comfortable beds. Large breakfast room. Convenient location. Great weekend spot! March 15, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by They have done better in the past.... Pro's: Recognized as a platinum member upon arrival, had weekly newspaper delivered to my room each morning. Con's: Lots of door slamming noise on the floor I was staying on, a bad odor in my room that I noticed when checking in and that never seemed to leave, even when house keeping cleaned my room. The company that I work for has a special rate that I was told that I would not get since I booked my stay on-line. There was a bar of soap left in the bathtub from the previous guest. Normally I don't write reviews for hotels but I was supposed to stay at this property for a couple of weeks and three things made me leave: (1) The bed was uncomfortable (2) The room stank (3) I found a better IHG property to stay at by the airport which has friendlier staff, comfortable/clean rooms, and is cheaper in price. I did not report any of the above problems to the front desk other than the fact that the company I work for has a special rate. I will not be staying at this property again and I stay at a lot of IHG properties to maintain my platinum status each year. March 14, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not so hot We actually stayed here twice--the first time when we checked the toilet in our room was really dirty, but they did come and clean quickly. Next morning we left early and were gone all day--when we returned at 5:45 the room had not been serviced. A call to the front desk got a ho hum response--we decided to wait until maid came & go to jacuzzi while she cleaned. She finally showed up at 6pm. Next day again we left & were gone until 5:30--when we returned, she was just leaving our room--we wanted to take showers, but only one of us could because they had left us only one towel--said they were having dryer problems. Jacuzzi was full of foam & no towels--not the dryer's fault--they just hadn't put out--why weren't they supplementing room towels w /these? At breakfast, the bananas were all very dead looking--I asked attendant if they had some less ripe ones & she did bring out a couple, but said her boss got mad if she didn't serve the black ones first. Why in the world did we return? The hotel is right next to a superb bike path & they were busy first time & we were staying only one night so decided to give them a second chance--bad mistake--we were gone one hour for dinner--when we left cookies weren't out--when we got back the empty container was, but no cookies--I asked at desk--she shrugged & said no more--why was container still out? She didn't bother to remove it. Next am, more dead bananas and a broken pancake machine. Nice bike trail, but we will look for different hotel if we ever come back! Oh, yes our priority club bonus--a package of gummy bear type treats--we are senior citizens! March 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very expensive! This was the most expensive Holiday Inn Express Hotel we stayed in on our trip. We were told it was because of the Gem Show in Tucson. We were not there for the Gem Show!! There was only an outdoor pool and it was too cold to swim!! February 24, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sub par EVERYTHING I made multiple reservations ( eight ) for the week. I knew it was going to be bad when I couldn't get into my room, the desk clerk tried three different sets of key cards and none worked. I was tired so I told him to just find me another room. One of the other rooms I had booked was even worse. The hair dryer didn't work, the outside door wouldn't shut properly, and there wasn't a shower curtain in the bathroom. We told the desk clerk and he handed the shower curtain to us, which we asked him to install it. He said everything else would be fixed b the time we returned, it wasn't so another trip to the manager was in store for the next morning. He assured us all would be fixed. When we returned the issues were resolved but now the tv wouldn't work. To be fair the mgr did comp one room for one night but IMO, not enough. I expect more out of HIE. February 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by R jackson Over all excellent. Pricey, but Gem show was on. Staff was excellent, and rooms very quiet February 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Express Tucson We are loyal Holiday Inn Express customers and we were not disappointed. January 31, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Saved the best for last? The hotel is way back behind several others. Very nice staff and excellent rooms. Wireless speed was about 1.5mbp down, but couldn't get skype to really work well with my iPad. Overall good value and was by what I was in town for. January 30, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Easy on and off I 10 and access to attractions Difficult to make left turn on Grant Road certain hours of day but easy access to I 10 and nice dry riverbed to run in if you are a jogger. Restaurants we prefer were all on other side of town which was time consuming in the evening. Needed to have the keys remade each day of our stay. Breakfast staff seemed more musical (whistling, singing or humming) than what my husband liked, it didn't bother me however so maybe it was just during early part of breakfast tine. January 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel Always a pleasure to stay at The Holiday Inn! I always know what to expect when my family and I stay at one of the many properties. Nice clean modern rooms, friendly staff, and a good hot breakfast. Couldn't ask for more! January 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A comfortable room We did not have a reservation for this location, so we were pleased to get a room quickly with no hassle. As a Priority Club member, we were also given a welcome bag of goodies which came in handy after being on the road all day. Once again, the attendant gave us a knee-jerk reaction when we informed her that we were traveling with a service dog. The same staff member did however check up on us shortly after we were settled into our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. The fridge and microwave are some of the best amenities offered at HIE and this one did not disappoint either. I like having 4 pillows that are both soft and firm. This location was also reasonably priced for the area. January 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just like home The beds in our room were as comfortable as home. It was like we were in our own beds. And there were FOUR pillows!!! December 12, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice staff, room housekeeping leaves something to be desired Dresser drawers not clean (old slice of pizza in one), shower did not drain, light not working in bathroom. December 9, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Service I make our travel arrangements between Holiday Inn Express locations, because we know that we will always find courtesy, cleanliness, safety, well maintained facilities, and good service. November 30, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Veterans, senior discount I asked for a veterans or senior discount, but was not given the option. Is is because the rate given me the best you could give. November 29, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loved the Pancake machine Bed was great, loved the monograms on the pillow cases to the firm and soft pillows. Front desk was super welcomeing, Showed was great room nicely layed out and Breakfast was ample...tons to choose from and CLEAN. The pancake machine was a blast...I need on of those. I'd stay again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and convenient Hotel experience was very good. I attended an event at the University of Arizona and the hotel was a good choice. November 26, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Value in Tucson We have frequented this Holiday Inn express many times over the past several years. We didn't think it could be improved, but they proved us wrong once again. We like to keep such venues to our self's but that would also be wrong. Anyone traveling trough Tucson and doesn't stay over at this facility will be loosing out. Once again, Holiday Inn Express has proven to be the best. November 15, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff Great directions to local restrauants by the front staff. October 27, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff & service Feel like at home here. Everyone is helpful, rooms clean and almost always ready for early check-in. October 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and ammenities Clean hotel with good staff. Solid breakfast, fridge and LCD TV in room. Close to U of A campus conveniently right off the highway. Would stay here again. October 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, up to date, convenient We stay here several nights per year when in Tucson. The location is most convenient. You can't get much closer to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and still be close to downtown, U of A, good restaurants, etc. Highly recommended October 17, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fair to Average hotel This hotel is rather typical of a Holiday-inn Express. My primary complaint is the reception desk attendant on duty when I arrived last Tuesday (09-Oct. 2012) afternoon/evening. He was rather aloof/unattentive. I don't need to be showered with attention; however, as a paying guest (and a Gold Priority Club Member#, I do expect to be acknowledged upon arrival to the hotel. This guy acted like I was inconveniencing him by checking in. Seriously? Other than that, one thing I really can't stand about this hotel #this is my 2nd stay there) is how loud the bathroom fan is and how it automatically turns on with the bathroom light. I've been to enough holiday inn expresses throughout the U.S. to know that the nicer ones do not have such an arrangement. October 15, 2012
