I stay at this hotel often and am always treated well by the front desk staff. The rooms are well maintained and always clean. My only negative comments are that my room smelled of smoke during my last two stays. I've also noticed that the dining room hostess does not keep some of the breakfast food items, related condimentsand coffee fully stocked. Quite often, guests have to ask for items to be replinished. I would and have recommended this hotel to friends and co-workers.

I was scheduled to take a national licensing test in Tupelo so I came down the night before and stayed here. The front desk ladies were friendly and efficient; the room cool and clean. Despite the fact there was a big event in town and the hotel was almost full, my room was quiet. The breakfast ranged from cereal to cinnamon rolls, oatmeal to fruit. I travel often and this was one of the best stays I have experienced.

Check in was a joke...a maid was on the phone in a loud argument with someone. After hanging up, she used a few expletives. Take your conversation somewhere other than the lobby where every guest can hear. My Platinum Status was not mentioned and I was assigned a standard room. I asked the front desk about upgrades and he said "Oh, I didn't even look at that..." There was a suite available, which I was then assigned. Unfortunately, the suite (216) was next door to a maintenance closet that contains a compressor of some type. This compressor kept making loud noises throughout the day and night about every 20 minutes. If you're trying to sleep late, forget it! The maids (who are super nice, btw) become active at 8:30 am and talk loudly and carry on in the hallway so sleep is impossible in the mornings. Upon check out, my bill was incorrect. The rate was totally different (by $40 to $50) on the folio than on my confirmation. The front desk changed the rate and I brought all of my concerns to light. I was offered a "Well, I'm sorry you feel that way." response which I view as complete apathy. If you're a loyal IHG patron, as I am, do yourself a favor and DON'T book this hotel. Book the Candlewood Suites or the Holiday Inn up the street. You'll have a much better stay.
