Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Location This hotel has a great location near shopping as well as restaurants. It is a nice, clean, well run hotel. The only unfortunate time to stay is when youth groups are also there especially boys soccer. Parents allow their children to misbehave and hotel staff is caught in the middle. The regular patrons end up with an uncomfortable stay. April 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff This hotel has the greatest staff. Breakfast begins at 6:30, I had to depart early and went to the breakfast area at 6:15 hoping just for some coffee. The entire breakfast was already available. I am always impressed with the staff here. April 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Palm Sunday in Turlock We have been staying at the HIE since it opened as my daughter attended school at CSUStan. The quality has not changed...the staff is fabulous, especially Teresa who does breakfast with a smile. This time, for breakfast, there was the little cheese omelets. Not my favorite at all - not fond of american cheese. However, everything else was GREAT! The room is always super clean and inviting. Slept like babies on the bed. Thanks for another great visit! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good recovery! Staff were co-operative and gave me an early check-in but somehow there was a mix-up and we got keys to a room that was not ready. Somehow we had been given keys to the wrong room which is why our keys did not work when we got to the hotel at 1 a.m. We were quickly fixed up with keys to the correct room where staff had left a basket of goodies. It is a sign of great staff when they recover well from a mistake. The room was great, I wish we had had more time to enjoy it but our stay in Turlock was brief. March 22, 2013

I like the Arts & Crafts style and therefore appreciate the fact that this hotel is in that style. I come to Turlock to visit a 95 year-old aunt in a retirement home, which is not far from this hotel. March 19, 2013

I never expect much for hotel breakfast buffets so it's standard fare. Very nice woman keeps everything in order. The front desk is consistently the nicest in town. March 13, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Frustrating property I've stayed at this location numerous times on business in the last six months, and I would be otherwise coming back a whole lot more, but i'm more frustrated than anything over the small issues that prevent this from being an otherwise outstanding HIE. I have status with other chains and am a Platinum with priority club, and I basically live in and out of hotels. I have one very simple request: Put me on the top floor. Specified on every single reservation I ever make, anywhere I stay. I would have to say at least 98% of all IHG properties I stay with honor that request with absolutely zero issue. On my most recent stay here, I ask if they were able to get me on the top floor during check in, and i'm told "I'm sorry, she put you on the second floor" Lady checking me in acknowledged my status, is super friendly, very apologetic, no issues with her at all. But still, I get into the room, and the same issues I've experienced before when this happens: Person is checked into the room directly above me and walking around *constantly* combined with a hotel that was built in a way that makes it pretty loud and very miserable for the person below. That said, there's a lot of things about this property that I do like and really appreciate...the design and building features are actually very nice, rooms are always clean, staff is consistently really friendly, helpful and hard working... gift packages left in the room for priority members, good breakfast, and a fantastic location in Turlock. But I guess for me, traveling as much as I do, it's the little things...and if I stay with your chain as often as I do, and i'm the highest status I can achieve in your rewards program, and you can't find *one* room on your third floor so that I don't have to listen to stomping footsteps during my entire stay and while I'm trying to sleep, I just don't understand that. With all the other things I really love and appreciate about this property, it really disappoints and frustrates me that something like this becomes an issue that prevents me from wanting to stay here anymore. I hope they improve with their ability to honor fairly simple platinum member room requests, but for now, this has happened too many times, and I'm finding somewhere else. March 5, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall a good hotel. I have been to this hotel numerous times and have always enjoyed my stay. However, this last time I was not overly impressed. I was put in a room along the wing that faces the train tracks and was awaken numerous times by the passing train. On top of which, I arrived back to my room one day early, 3 p.m., to find it had not been cleaned. I would expect the staff to clean the rooms of patrons who will be staying at the hotel the next day first. Otherwise, clean and well centered establishment. February 28, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fairly New Property Needs Customer Service Training Check-in was chaotic by an untried staff member, computer system went down, resulting in a long line of guests out the door. To make matters worse, the manager couldn't bestir herself to communicate the issues to her waiting guests. Despite the property's newish exterior and comfy-looking lounge, I found the bed linens to be subpar, especially the rough sheets and ultra-thin blanket. I gave this property a chance since it was closer to my business meeting, but given my unhappy experiences, I don't think I'll be going back. February 18, 2013
