We had an overall good stay ... the one thing that I was not pleased with was the vent in the room ... we did not realize (until the next morning) that there were different setting for the fan ... it would blow REALLY hard - then go off - every time it did that during the night, I woke up ... the pool was small, but my sons did enjoy it - the best part, as far as my boys were concerned was breakfast ... cinnamon rolls - warmed - with peanut butter on them ...

We had a short overnight visit and found the staff to be upbeat, accommodating, & friendly. The rooms were well-appointed and very comfortable.

I had to make two drippy trips to the front desk to get towels for the pool. Another patron took towels I'd set aside for me and my kids, but I didn't mind that since she had a small kid. After the first trip, you'd think they'd check and restock. Concession was poorly stocked. Barely anything on the shelf. Other than that, not a bad stay, but a little pricey given I paid $35 less at another HIE, where I got better service and the concession was well stocked.

Champaign-Urbana is a nice town so a hotel has a lot of competition; the Holiday Inn Express holds up well. The fastest check in I have ever had, yet good, knowledgeable, helpful service. Room was larger than most, beds were very comfortable with a good tv and a nice desk area for work. Choice of either wireless or (faster) dsl connection to internet. Very, very clean. It was quiet and peaceful. Reasonably close to good places to eat, especially the ones downtown near the university, but nothing is really very far. Breakfast was a bit better than most HI Express locations, which are almost always above average anyway, and the attendant in the breakfast was friendly and thorough. Price was better than most, too.
There are good local restaurants that merit checking out, but the best meal I had was at Biaggi's. A cut above the others in the chain.
Overall, it's a place I'll return to and I recommend it very highly.

The staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and comfortable. I always request additional pillows and most locations do not have the pillows ready and I have to ask again. Not the Urbana location. The pillows were already in my room, in fact, there were 2 more than I asked for which led to the perfect nights sleep.
This location is perfect on the trips where I am driving from St. Louis to Chicago.

No remote control, when we did get one, the TV didn't work. No basket for the coffee maker. Linens in poor shape with one sheet having a rip all along one side making it difficult to get out of bed without catching one's foot in the rip, bathmat totally frayed along 2 edges. No sound insulation whatever. We were in a room above the automatic front door and every time it opened there was a loud mechanical noise in the room. Normal conversation in the next room sounded loud in our room. The front desk did reduce the price for us, but the value just was not there. No recognition for me being a priority club member. Furniture, carpet and facilities look worn.

This has been the best Holiday Inn experience yet! We arrived earlier than expected so our room wasn't ready yet, so the front desk lady was able to give us lots of tourism ideas about seeing the area. She gave detailed directions about where to go and what to see and assured us our room would be ready in an hour. It was ready when we returned and she put us in a room near the pool and hot tub. The hotel was clean and all the staff was friendly. We were there for a concert and they allowed us to use the pool/hot tub after the event which was very accommodating for us. I appreciated all they did to make this such a great experience. Thank you Holiday Inn Express - Urbana-Champaign.

I have stayed at this hotel over 20 times.
The front desk staff is always friendly, the decor is updated, and the rooms very comfortable.
Great pool area. At check-in they give you a free drink coupon for the Holiday Inn restaurant next door or a bottled water if you are a Priority Club member.
I highly recommend

We stayed during a state wrestling tournament. The hotel was full of teenage boys. Fire alarm was set off, breakfast items were devoured before we could get much of anything, Aside from that the room was nice and the staff excellent.

The desk clerk for the evening was Excellent! Upon going to my room, one of my pet peeves was realized; 4 of 7 light bulbs was burned out. The desk clerk, contacted someone at the HI next door and eventually I had working light bulbs. Glancing at the operation certificate in the elevator revealed that is was overdue an inspection. This is negligence on the part of whomever is in charge of operations.

I travel for both work and pleasure, and have stayed in many a Holiday Inn Express. This was one of the nicest rooms I've been in. It even smelled good! :) Loved the layout and the decor. The staff was friendly. I will choose this hotel again. I will say though, that this was the only HIE or HI I've checked into in which I haven't received anything (even a bottle of water) for being a Priority Club member. Could have just been an oversight though, and the rest of the place made up for it!

During my entire stay there was never anyone at the front desk. The clerk was in a room behind the desk. I am a platium priority club member and I was not acknowledged at all. I wasn;t even offered a water. This is the first Holiday Inn that I have experienced this.

l really enjoy staying at the hotel when we come to Ill. This time though i was a little taken back by the cleaning of our bathroom or should I say the lack of it. In the tub area there were a lot of long black hairs all over the tub. the bathroom was not cleaned very good to many hairs everywhere.

The water pressure in the bathroom sink and shower was horrible. It trickled out. It was difficult to take a shower.
