Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by staff where are you? I have stayed at numerous properties and have never seen one where the staff were this invisible. Upon checking in , I was greeted with an empty desk and had to wait for someone to appear from the back room. Throughout the stay I saw this to be the case.The area behind the counter was cluttered with boxes of supplies etc. Also breakfast personnel were not visible much of the time. Not a good pr deal for sure. Room was fine.seemed like maybe a large group with many kids was there. Other places have strategically separated these out to isolate noise, etc. Maybe not possible here. February 5, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Snow storm memories My friends and I were returning from a business trip and did not feel safe driving any longer in the snow storm. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I went across the parking lot for a burger and the gentleman that waited on me was very kind also. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and this one was excellent and made you feel very welcomed. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by My experience Check in was great, took elevator to 3rd floor and when the door opened trash on the floor. Turn left down the hall another piece of trash in the hall. Entered my room, 3 minutes after the maid enters the room. 8:00pm I went downstairs to get bottled water, trash in the hall was still there. Surely the maid that entered my room had to seen it. Elevator floor was sticky, 9:00pm room smells like something's on fire. A/c unit is now blowing hot air, shut it off and went the rest of the evening with it off as I didn't want to change rooms. 9:30am I leave the room , trash still in hall, elevator floor still sticky. Informed the lady at the front desk about the A/C and my experience. Left my number for a manager to contact me, never received a call. October 18, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great service! Our stay was fantastic! Our room was quiet and clean! I couldn't have been more happy with making this decision to stay at this hotel. I have never seen Bath and Body Works products in the bathroom before and I loved it! Also the breakfast staff was wonderful! My cousin asked if there were any bananas left and there were none, so we went about our business and as we were moving the car around to the back the breakfast lady went and personally got my cousin a banana! Amazing service! Will come again. October 16, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Seems to have changed I have been staying at this location since it opened and it was one of my favorite Holiday Inn locations. I feel that it has changed in it not being a nice as it has been. Our towels were shredded on the edges, every bath towel! This location use to have beautiful towels. I use towels like this as rags at home. For breakfast, we checked at two different times and the food was empty. No cinnamon rolls, no eggs. Our air conditioning unit never shut off all night long. It never was able to reach the temperature of 69 degrees and just kept running. It made for a noisy night to sleep. Maybe it was an off weekend...I sure hope so! September 12, 2013

I like Holiday Inn Express for work travel because of the convenient desk, comfy chair, internet, complimentary breakfast, classy rooms, etc. But this time I stayed with my kids, on a family trip, and found that those things plus 24-hour access to the fitness facility were a great package for us as a family. I will stick with HIE for the value and quality! September 5, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Large room but noisy fan and lazy TV We went there to drop off our son at UIUC. The hotel is near I 74 in a complex of several other hotels. The room was larger than we expected. Pillows were nice. The fan noise was very loud. We could not lower its speed using the controls. TV was very lazy. After switching the channels it took about three seconds to show the picture. Also several channels were repeated and several were not available. On one day the room service made one bed but forgot to make another. Exercise room was good. It had fresh towels, a TV and water. Breakfast was good. The people were friendly. They also kept it open slightly beyond closing time to allow late comers. They give two newspapers - USA Today and The News Gazette (local newspaper). Overall we are satisfied with the hotel. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Significantly better stay than expected I visit Urbana 2-3 times/yr and the HI Express was usually my last choice compared to other properties. It has been at least a year since I last used this motel for my family visit. It was an excellent choice. The room was clean, the bathroom was very clean and bright. We had an HD TV. The AC worked and was quite, the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast bar had a good selection and my grandson was amazed by the pancake machine. The HI Exp Urbana will be my first choice for hotel stay when we visit this area in the future August 28, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great experiences if you overlook the pool My family first stayed at this property in March of 2013 when we got stuck by a snowstorm on the way back to Iowa from Tennessee. The staff was fantastic and even offered a late check out the next day to give road crews time to work. Because of that we decided that this was our new "half way point" destination when we travel from IA to TN. We have stayed at this hotel twice since that initial visit in March and are still pleased with the staff and rooms however both times we've found the pool area to need attention. There have been large clumps of hair in the pool and on the floor by the chairs, the water has had a somewhat disturbing cloudiness that made us hesitant to even let the kids get in it, and we have had to call or stop at the front desk each time to ask someone for towels. For having staff that seem so helpful and accommodating in other areas, the pool definitely needs more frequent attention. August 9, 2013

That was plus #1. I arrived Sunday afternoon, tired, and wanting to relax before the start of a busy week, and the staff could not have made me feel more welcome! Both Brittanys, Torie, Debbie, and Teddi made my stay (thru Friday morning) very relaxing. Miss Robin and Miss Dorothy serve up a breakfast that made me smile every morning! They are so pleasant! The quality of staff working is amazing and Brittney on the front desk was very friendly and addressed my concerns extremely well. Dorothy and Robin, the Breakfast area staff were by far some of the nicest people I have met, making both my daughter and mines experience to be an outstanding one, they were helpful,friendly and polite. I would a 100% recommend staying at this hotel and understand why my husband will only stay at Holiday Inn Express whilst he is in Champaign for business. July 16, 2013

We did call the front desk about it and they said they would have someone clear the "floor". Not sure that happened, because the next morning the ants were back. July 5, 2013

The rooms are fine, but the staff are mediocre and the breakfast has limited selection, compared to other Holiday Inn Express locations that I have stayed. July 2, 2013
