The Hotel staff was top notch. From the time we booked the hotel on the phone to the time we checked out it was a pleasant experience. We were met with a friendly smile from the reception desk at check-in. They were very knowledgable of the surrounding restaurants and shopping areas. The staff looking after the rooms were very friendly asking how our room was and if we needed anything extra.

I really enjoy the staff recognizing my IHG status and performing room upgrades. The early check-in and late check-out is very important to accommodate my visitation with my grand baby. My grand daughter calls the UTICA HI "Grandma's Hotel".

This Holiday Inn was not up to the normal standards of the Holiday Inn franchise. I would not recommend staying here unless they put a lot of effort into cleaning the facility, creating a more pleasant atmosphere, training the staff to be friendly, courteous, and helpful in a prompt fashion. If you want to swim beware as the water was like ice water when I tried to take my 2 year old grand-daughter swimming.

At first glance from the outside it looks modern and updated. That is where the perception ends. The interior was dirty, stains on carpets, walls were soiled. The hotel was dated and help had a poor attitude. One step better than sleeping in your car but not by much. I stay 100 nights a year in hotels and this is the worst Holiday Inn I have seen.

Stayed here for business, but had to change travel plans after the first day. Staff was more than accommodating.
