While the hotel seems aged it was clean. The bed was comfortable. Pillows were a little small not use to that at HIE. Front desk was very helpful. Priority club members don't get recognized.

I could have easily complained about a few things that would have placed this property sub par for my idea of a HI Express, however the customer service was Excellent. The fact that the staff actually seemed to care that we had some issues that needed addressed while not once making me feel like a complainer was truly appreciated. Thank you all and especially, Amber, who is a perfect example of great customer service.

We have stayed at many holiday inn express hotels. This experience was not the usual. Booked a room with fridge and didn't get one. Was told they were first come first serve. They were nice enough to find us one the next day but the smell of cigarette smoke within the fridge was so horrid it left our can drinks stinking. Better luck nwxt stay.

We stayed here as a halfway point to Biloxi, MS. Where we was headed for an AMR disaster relief conference. Since its in the middle of nowhere basically we thought it would be okay, the room was decent, shower/tub was older and rooms could use updating but the TV had lots of channels which was great. There was an excellent Mexican restaurant one exit up. Only downfall was we woke up early to head on to Biloxi to find our car and been broken into overnight! Nothing was stolen, you could tell they done it quickly went through my dash and console and had all papers and stuff all over my front seats, didn't bother to make a police report since nothing was gone. Did tell front desk at check out and spoke to other guest only to find out this wasn't the first time it had happen so we will not stay there again & don't recommend it solely based on the break in. Also I was NOT recognized as an IHG me member at all!

While the room was clean and the front desk courteous...we were disappointed that a hotel of this nature would not have a frig or microwave in the room? Also, there was a problem (known by the desk) with the room key card machine and we had to have the key redone every time we left the room---frustrating! Will stay again? Maybe not.

We cut our stay short and moved to another hotel. The property was not up to Holiday Inn Express standards. The carpet was not clean and the mattress on the sofa bed was not in usable condition. we booked a king suite which we did not get it had been promised to another guest and none of the rooms had a refrigerator. The key cards failed to work most of the time as well.

My stay was good and the staff checking in was outstanding. But the breakfast was the worst I have ever experienced at a Holiday Inn. One morning at 8:00AM there were no eggs, no yogart do I thought I would just have a bowl of cereal but there was no milk, unexceptable for a Holiday Inn Express.

Overall this is a good value. Nothing fancy but clean and well priced. My rankings would have been higher but the coffee machine did not work at Breakfast meaning guests had to go elsewhere. It would have been appreciated if management had a contingency plan for this.
Staff was friendly.

Stayed here for a weekend and wish I paid the extra money to stay up the road at the new Opelika Holiday Inn Express. Our first room was on the 2nd floor right by the elevator and the room was not pristine clean and the bathroom vanity was collapsing but we dealt with it until a soccer team was planted next to us and the noise level elevated greatly. We were already hearing every conversation coming in and out of the elevator now playing up and down the hall woke us up in the middle of the night and we were moved to the last room on the third floor at the end of the hall. A vast difference in cleanliness and in quietness. I could immediately see that this room barely got used and it was in overall better more newer shape. It was then that I realized that hotels probably fill up 1st floor to last and from now on I am asking for the last floor first! The breakfast was very subpar for a Holiday Inn Express. I stay in a HIE hotel more than any other brand so I know how the breakfast is. For one there is always biscuits and gravy but not here. When we asked about it the front desk associate said that the server doesn't like to make it because it is too difficult. The eggs were old and hard as if they were cooked a day or two earlier and set out for easy prep. You could tell that the server likes to cut as many corners as possible on the breakfast but I have never been to a HIE that never had the biscuits and gravy or who didn't get the eggs right. This hotel is well below the avg HIE and I've stayed at a bunch of them so trust my comparison. I went to the Opelika location and had breakfast instead and the difference was way too broad. HIE should not make it a habit of out doing your own hotels especially when they are right down the road from each other.

I stayed here 1 night on my way to Auburn (27 miles down the road). I actually stayed just because of the 5,000 bonus points package.
The front desk staff was great. In fact the lady who checked me in was awesome. She even loaned me a cell phone charger since I left mine at home. I was also given the Platinum freebie bag upon check-in (bottled water, snack, etc..)
The room itself was average. I have certainly stayed in many worse HI-Expresses, but also I have stayed in many more nicer HI-Express properties.
My biggest issue was I stayed on room 110 I believe. Throughout the night I heard water moving through the piping systems. I actually had to turn the AC unit on just to block it out. If I would have stayed more than 10 hours in the hotel I would have asked to be moved. But didn't want to go through the hassle.
All in all, I would not stay here again because the HI-Express in Auburn is just a few miles down the road, but the property does have great staff.

We were told that cookies are not given out on weekends only during the week days. I would appreciate the reason that Corporate has chosen this policy. I believe that most families stay at Holiday Inn Express Hotels on weekends and most of the rooms are reserved by business people during the week days. Obviously Corporate is more interested in giving this small perk to business people. An answer would be appreciated. Thanks

My husband and I wanted to visit Callaway Gardens. This Holiday Inn Express isn't the closest, but the price is by far the best. We were so pleased ... every member of the staff greeted us everytime we encountered them and seemed engaged in the success of the hotel, cookies were baking, coffee and milk/yogurt were always available, the restaurant suggestion was right on. Yes, we would readily book a stay here again.

Heater was loud, left it off at night. Workers talked loudly outside my door early, like 5 AM. Someone was using a power tool at 5:30 AM one day. I could hear it through my bathtub, as if they were working in the space below (my room was on the 1st floor). There was one day where staff didn't tidy anything in my room except the bed. Towels were left on the ground, tea/coffee was not replaced, garbage was left in cans. Bed gave in too much.

I was traveling through on business, and this HIE location is very convenient to I85.
Staff was very friendly and made a "big deal" about priority club membership.
I was upgrade to king suite. Room was clean and comfortable.
Rates were very reasonable compared to some other small town market hotels.

This was our first stay in Valley, AL and we were delighted with the personable and helpful staff at this Holiday Inn Express. The hotel was convenient to the interstate, the rooms were clean and quiet and the hot breakfast had a surprisingly large variety of items. Everybody treated us well and made our stay enjoyable.

Stayed one night; didn't have breakfast. Room was comfortable, but the hot water for the shower wasn't hot enough. I experienced the same problem in staying at another HI Express in another state earlier in the same week. Perhaps this is an economizing measure being adoopted by HIE.

This motel was a delight to stay in being away from home. The staff were all very friendly and pleasant, from the desk clerks, the kitchen staff, even the maintenance man. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I would recommmend this motel to anyone looking for a peaceful and friendly stay.
