We enjoyed our stay @ Holiday Inn Express Valparaiso. Staff was friendly, room was comfortable...they even loaned us a wine key @ the front desk. We will stay there again.

We left a wake up call on the automated system and never received our call; got no satisfaction from front desk as to why.
Hotel older, room small and bathroom very small with old, small sized and overused towels. We did not have breakfast at the hotel so can't comment on breakfast.
Although we didn't spend much time watching tv the choice of channels was limited.
Location was good.

This is just what you would expect from a Holiday Inn. Clean rooms. Friendly staff.
I had a meeting in town and it was on my daughters birthday. My daughter and my niece skipped a day of school and came with me. the hotel was walking distance from several great shopping areas my daughter really enjoyed.
The pools was clean and kept up. a door lead to an outside patio area that was very nice.
The breakfast was not the greatest the day I was there. Some regulars said they the hotel normally offer more for breakfast. I had pancakes, eggs and sausages. I guess they normally have some really good cinnamon rolls.

We continued to be disturbed by the (Personal) noise of the room next door (226-ours). The acoustics were just plain inadequate.
The noise is able to come through the wall as if there were only cardboard between us. At the very least I would request a refund of at least 1/2 the cost of the overnight stay.

Our stay at the hotel was excellent. Larissa in reception was exceptional. She understood our special needs for a room on the first floor and near to an outside exit and immediately met our requirements. She is a very pleasant young lady. We also experienced other staff there who were very friendly and offered assistance. A very pleasant stay. We stayed on the Friday night, went to Chicago for one night and then returned on the Monday to Valpo. We would definitely stay at this hotel agin. We do like staying at Holiday Inns all oer the world, and they all vary any in both comfort and service. Yours is one of the best

Our family stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Valparaiso for my son's wedding. We actually had 3 rooms on the second floor and my now daughter-in-law had one on the first. The manager saw my daughter-in-law leaving with her bride's maids and without anyone asking, had her room cleaned..again...made the bed and added a few special touches like putting flower petals on the bed. It was a wonderful surprise when they returned to that room for their first night as husband and wife.

We thought the hot tub was very cold. We also thought the breakfast varity was very small compared to most places we have stayed.We weren't giving anything at check in for being platiumn plus members until I asked. The first rm. they gave us didn't have any soap in it Then the second rm. didn't have hand cream, we asked for some and got it.

Recently I had a negative experience at a different local hotel in Valparaiso, IN so I decided to go to the Holiday Inn and stay there that same evening. They were able to take me (with very short notice) and I realized that I should have made my reservation there from the beginning. Everything about my stay was excellent and the extra benefit is that my room rate was the lowest of all of the other quotes that I had received. From now on I will ONLY stay at the Holiday Inn and my daughter is at the local college for 3 more years. The room was exceptionally clean and the staff attended to details - even down to how the towels were folded in my room. My visit to take my daughter to college was stressful so the wonderful experience at the Holiday Inn was a gift that I gave myself and I enjoyed every minute of my stay!!

We have 2 sons attending Valparaiso University and we always stay here. It is close to the campus and they have been accommodating when we have needed a late checkout. The Valpo rate also helps! Karen is particularly helpful.

The breakfast bar had lukewarm coffee, no cream, one milk carton left, the pancake machine didn't work, and I could go on. All this took place at 7:30am. Later one guest came to the front desk to tell them "I just drank curdled milk, I'm going to my room to throw up", no apologies were given. One person who I was traveling with had a maintenance man enter his room at 6:30am. The only explanation he got was the guy thought the room wasn't occupied. When the front desk was told of the incident, no apology was given. This is a beautiful, new hotel that seems to be poorly managed. I won't stay there again the next time I'm in Valpo.

I travel a great deal for work and reside in the platinum status of IHG. I was very disappointed here. The housekeeping was horrible, bed sheets not changed before arrival on several occasions, and poor customer service. I stay at this chain a lot and cannot believe this property has four stars. I am staying at an alternate location while finishing my work in Northern Indiana. Very unsatisfied!

When I checked in for all of us, the manager was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a problem with one room, it had not been cleaned at all, and the manager immediately apologized for our inconvenience and the fact that we had to see an uncleaned room. She had us another room before I returned to the front desk. :-) We were there with our sons and grandchildren. The little ones really enjoyed their own "big people beds" and the swimming pool. It was a very relaxing and wonderful stay. We have stayed here before and we will be staying again!

There was no microwave, no refrig, pool was milky water. The breakfast was cold. No one was friendly especially the woman at front desk. They didn't even care that we were priority club members and the price was very high for a standard room. We left after 1 night and found a nice Country Inn and Suites for the rest of our vacatjon. I would not recommend to anyone to stay here!!

INCOMPETENT IN SOLVING FAST THE FALSE FIRE ALARM! NO BACK UP PLAN OR ANYTHING IN REGARDS TO RESOLVING THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE! VERY INCONSIDERATE ON SERVING BREAKFAST. SINCE WE DID NOT GET ENOUGH SLEEP BECAUSE OF THE FIRE ALARM 130AM, WE WOKE UP A LITTLE LATE & WHEN WE GO TO EAT BREAKFAST THEY TOOK EVERYTHING & EVEN LOCKED THE MINI FRIDGE :( THEY DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO ASK IF WE WANT ANYTHING BEFORE THEY TAKE AWAY FOOD. VERY VERY UPSET & SURELY A HORRIBLE & MISERABLE STAY EVER!!! :(

very nice staff on check and in the restaurant in the morning. Hotel was clean. Was difficult to find by our Garmin GPS, which seems to be an issue with Garmin. The clerk at check in remarked this has happened with more than one traveler

I am not picking on this Inn, but HI Express breakfast offerings all over the country are getting worse and worse. How about some fresh cut fruit, not old bananas,and lean sausage, not the fried mush that passes for sausage at most HI's. Granola, and better cereal choices,coffee that is more than brown water.
The rest of the experience at most all HI Expresses is quite good. It's just breakfast that is below average.

We stayed in this hotel when visiting the Amish community of Northern Indiana. The hotel is clean and has a wonderful modern feel in both the lobby area and the bedrooms. Our room was very nice with great beds, a large clean shower, and a quiet stay. There are cable TV and free WiFi in the room and plenty of easy to reach outlets for recharging. To finish off the stay is a great free breakfast.

It was a room to stay for the night. It was clean. That is about all I can say.
First, the clerk who checked me in didn't tell me about breakfast hours or where my room was located. Nor did she indicate if there was WiFi available and if there was she didn't tell me a code or how to access it.
Second, there was no microwave in the room but there was nothing saying it was a special request or if they were even available.
Third, the beds were lumpy.
Fourth, the air conditioner did not cool the room properly.
Fifth through ? how many cons I list, there was no chair to lounge on in the room. It was sparsley furnished and had only one shampoo, conditioner, lotion in the bathroom. The coffee maker was under the night stand-- and there were no clear cups to use. The floor had an ice machine but it didn't work so I had to go to the first floor. There was no soda/pop machine or snack machine in the floor. There were no door sleeves that inform housekeeping that we were late travelers and needed privacy so they came knocking on our door as we were sleeping. Also, I am a light sleeper and the noise from the freeway traffic was annoying which made it difficult to sleep. As a matter of fact, for the value, this was one of the worst Holiday Inn Expresses I have ever stayed in. I highly doubt I will stay at the HI Express in Valparaiso, IN again.

Everything about this hotel was up to Holiday Inn Express standards except for at breakfast. I have stayed here multiple times and they have never had the signature cinnamon rolls and the breakfast selection is not up the the standards that makes me want to stay at Holiday Inn Express chains.

The staff at this hotel were all very friendly and helpful (even when we locked ourselves out of one of our adjoining rooms), and are the main positive for our experience. Despite working over a holiday weekend, everyone was cheery and happy to engage and help out. The hotel itself is a bit dated. The AC didn't work great, and we had ants in one of our rooms and a small (not otherwise identified) yellowish bug as well. And the pillows suffered from the "lumpy foam" problem of many HI Express hotels.

This Express raked on the lower end of the ones i stay at. It was not horrible or anything it was just bare minimum.. The thing that really was NOT good was the breakfast. Despite a lady walking around there was nothing being restocked.. NO pancakes, NO bacon, NO Eggs. Did not pay to tell her she was not going to fill them.

As a Platinum Elite member, we experience perks from the Holiday Inn hotels we have stayed at. This hotel not only didn't acknowledge us as Priority Club members, there was no perk! No bottled water, no little baggie of goodies. Very disappointing!

While at the Valpo Holiday Inn Express, I remembered I had not made rooming arrangements for a conference we were attending the next week. I needed to fax in a reservation sheet. For some reason the fax would not go through. The G.M. took my reservation forms to her office and scanned them into her computer and sent them for me that way. I was very impressed. They also lent me scissors to complete table decorations for my granddaughter's high school graduation and opened the kitchen, not once but three times for me to wash some things. I cannot ever remember staying at a hotel that worked as hard as the staff of this one to make sure that we had everything we needed. My hat's off to all of the staff!

The new general manager welcomed me when I checked in. I had just driven 5 hours after a full day of work and was so pleasantly surprised. She was very nice and made me feel welcome. Definitely better than the Merriville HIE nearby.
