Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service very nice staff on check and in the restaurant in the morning. Hotel was clean. Was difficult to find by our Garmin GPS, which seems to be an issue with Garmin. The clerk at check in remarked this has happened with more than one traveler August 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Express Breakfast I am not picking on this Inn, but HI Express breakfast offerings all over the country are getting worse and worse. How about some fresh cut fruit, not old bananas,and lean sausage, not the fried mush that passes for sausage at most HI's. Granola, and better cereal choices,coffee that is more than brown water. The rest of the experience at most all HI Expresses is quite good. It's just breakfast that is below average. August 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay close to Amish community We stayed in this hotel when visiting the Amish community of Northern Indiana. The hotel is clean and has a wonderful modern feel in both the lobby area and the bedrooms. Our room was very nice with great beds, a large clean shower, and a quiet stay. There are cable TV and free WiFi in the room and plenty of easy to reach outlets for recharging. To finish off the stay is a great free breakfast. July 31, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by About made me decide to stay away from Holiday Inn Express It was a room to stay for the night. It was clean. That is about all I can say. First, the clerk who checked me in didn't tell me about breakfast hours or where my room was located. Nor did she indicate if there was WiFi available and if there was she didn't tell me a code or how to access it. Second, there was no microwave in the room but there was nothing saying it was a special request or if they were even available. Third, the beds were lumpy. Fourth, the air conditioner did not cool the room properly. Fifth through ? how many cons I list, there was no chair to lounge on in the room. It was sparsley furnished and had only one shampoo, conditioner, lotion in the bathroom. The coffee maker was under the night stand-- and there were no clear cups to use. The floor had an ice machine but it didn't work so I had to go to the first floor. There was no soda/pop machine or snack machine in the floor. There were no door sleeves that inform housekeeping that we were late travelers and needed privacy so they came knocking on our door as we were sleeping. Also, I am a light sleeper and the noise from the freeway traffic was annoying which made it difficult to sleep. As a matter of fact, for the value, this was one of the worst Holiday Inn Expresses I have ever stayed in. I highly doubt I will stay at the HI Express in Valparaiso, IN again. July 31, 2013

I have stayed here multiple times and they have never had the signature cinnamon rolls and the breakfast selection is not up the the standards that makes me want to stay at Holiday Inn Express chains. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Somewhat dated The staff at this hotel were all very friendly and helpful (even when we locked ourselves out of one of our adjoining rooms), and are the main positive for our experience. Despite working over a holiday weekend, everyone was cheery and happy to engage and help out. The hotel itself is a bit dated. The AC didn't work great, and we had ants in one of our rooms and a small (not otherwise identified) yellowish bug as well. And the pillows suffered from the "lumpy foam" problem of many HI Express hotels. July 17, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nothing special This Express raked on the lower end of the ones i stay at. It was not horrible or anything it was just bare minimum.. The thing that really was NOT good was the breakfast. Despite a lady walking around there was nothing being restocked.. NO pancakes, NO bacon, NO Eggs. Did not pay to tell her she was not going to fill them. July 6, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best customer Service Ever While at the Valpo Holiday Inn Express, I remembered I had not made rooming arrangements for a conference we were attending the next week. I needed to fax in a reservation sheet. For some reason the fax would not go through. The G.M. took my reservation forms to her office and scanned them into her computer and sent them for me that way. I was very impressed. They also lent me scissors to complete table decorations for my granddaughter's high school graduation and opened the kitchen, not once but three times for me to wash some things. I cannot ever remember staying at a hotel that worked as hard as the staff of this one to make sure that we had everything we needed. My hat's off to all of the staff! June 16, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Our Board of Directiors enjoy the great service. We use the Holiday Inn Express several times a year for our Board meeting housing. The staff are GREAT at accommodating the various needs. The men always comment that is a pleasure to stay there. The staff have also been helpful in accommodating us when we have needed a meeting room. When making reservations the staff couldn't be more helpful. THANKS VALPO HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS! April 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by High and Dry Stayed at the Hotel during a significant rain event. Room was quite comfortable with a great view looking out over a rain soaked wet land. The hotel property and parking lot stayed high and dry during the entire storm. Other properties in the area unfortunetly cannot say the same. Great food, great service and overall great hotel - I will be returning! April 21, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bed was too hard I've stayed they a few times and the person working the front desk this time acted as though she was doing me a favor to check me in. I simply asked if she tell me how many points I had on my account and she responded "not enough to do any good". She did not offer a bottle of water either. It's the small things that we all choose our stays by. Her attitude left something to be desired. I also checked on my points myself and I had 108K. Not a lot, but what i can tell you is that they will accumulate slower if I am in that area becasue I will not stay there again. March 27, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight stay The front desk person was very nice and allowed me to access the local internet before i checked. Very nice guy. He was busy when i first walked in but assured me i was his next priority, which was nice. He then was having trouble with the computers while checking me in, and then he again satisfied me that he would get it all straightened out and would ring my room for anything else needed. Again, this allowed to relax in my room instead of at the front desk. thanks March 11, 2013

My daughter is in college in Chicago now, and this is a great location near enough but half the cost of a downtown hotel. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the whole property is clean and comfortable, the beds are great, the breakfast is great (best scrambled eggs ever!). The only down-side are the paper products in the bathroom. The tissues and toilet paper are thin, rough, and shred on exposure to any moisture. Otherwise this is one of my favorite hotels - period.
