Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Five Star Experience In all facets (service, room quality, breakfast, high-speed internet, amenities, etc.), my experience would have to be rated 5-Star, and I would heartily recommend this hotel to both business and leisure travelers. May 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PLEASANT STAY We were in my hometown to wrap up details related to a death in the family and family business. This was not our first stay at the Holiday Inn, nor will it be the last. We found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating, some of them recognizing us from previous visits.. The breaksfast - they had sausage gravy and biscuits every moning, all we could ask for! The facility is very clean and quiet, providing an excellent atmosphere in which to conduct business and relax We always enjoy a visit to the Van Wert Holiday Inn Express. April 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very nice all around good stay we have family in Van Wert so we are over at least once in the winter to stay. The hotel was clean the pool was warm, not to busy so very quiet. March 1, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Potential is There Not really thrilled with the new pillow choice as a chain and lack of options. The window treatments in the room were waterstained and falling apart. The staff was very, very nice and made the stay better. I know restaurants usually submit information to hotels, but with the limited choices in Van Wert it might be beneficial for the hotel to highlight choices to attract people back to the area versus Ft. Wayne or other nearby cities. February 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clearly the best hotel in the area. I always stay at this HIE when I am in the Van Wert area. Their 1BR suite is ideal for families and couples with different sleeping habits. The two rooms are small, but very comfortable. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly and my stays have been pleasant. The hot cinnamon rolls at this hotel are the best "free breakfast" item I have ever had at any hotel--ever. The Motor Inn Truck Stop, about 15 miles South of the HIE, has the best breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches in the area. January 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel - not much in town There isn't too much in Van Wert, but this Holiday Inn Express is great. It looks pretty new and is certainly the best option in town for a hotel. I travel to VW for business and always stay in this Holiday Inn Express. It is convenient to what IS in Van Wert, is very comfortable and offers a pretty good breakfast that is free. Not just bagels and doughnuts either, they usually have hot biscuits with gravy, eggs, pancakes, and some sort of breakfast sausage or bacon. In room I have always received a king size bed with a full bathroom. There is a nice little wet bar area with a fridge and microwave and even living room area which is great to watch some TV on the couch or to do a little work at the desk. You get a national brand newspaper outside your door in the morning. Free WIFI is a plus even though the connection can be spotty at times. I will be coming back to this hotel whenever I travel to the area in the future. December 11, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay!!! I travel a lot for work and usually stay with 4 to 5 different hotels every month. At the Holiday inn in Van Wert I was received very well by the front desk staff which was very efficient during my check-in. The hotel looks very nice and feels very cozy. My room was very clean, specially the bathroom, the bed was very comfortable and it had a great desk where I could sit down and do some work. During my stay I also enjoyed using the fitness center and the swimming pool which were both very well kept. I really recommend this hotel for anyone who travels or would like to enjoy a weekend with the family. December 11, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice and new, no PC perks unless you ask. I stayed here for 5 weeks for a project. The hotel is newer, and very clean. The pool is nice, and quiet. This is a mostly business/wind farm hotel, except for the occasional weekend wedding. The desk staff at night is inexperienced, and I was not once offered a water or chips (with a quarter million point balance) and only upgraded once in 5 check-ins. They were very nice, though. The local dumpster garbage truck came at 4:30 AM and was the LOUDEST thing I have ever encountered staying at any hotel. Jarred out of bed thinking the building is falling is no way to start your day..... It is not really the hotel's fault, but I would think they would be able to let the trash folks know that this is not cool. That being said, I would stay here over any other area hotel.
