Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed First Trip to Va Beach I stay constantly at Holiday Inns, so when I checked into this one I was a little disappointed. The quality was not up to the standards of the holiday inns I have experienced. Staff was unfriendly when you asked questions as if you were bothering them. The room was not clean there was mounds of dust on the walls. There were food particles behind the nightstands and on the floor. In the corners there were so many gnats that I had to go buy bug spray and spray the room. We got room service one day and that was only to change our towels bed was not made nothing was wiped down or cleaned, trash not emptied. And the beautiful pictures on the site of the way your room looks with the bedding I'll room in bed did not look like that. On a positive note we had a beautiful view and having the free breakfast in the morning with a nice touch. August 23, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Over prized and noisy We got there at 3:00 and were told that the room was not ready, it was 7:30 when we got into our room and found out that this was a problem with a lot of the guests. Out side our room there was a man pounding on some drums all evening until midnight. could not get to sleep until it stopped. The next day I observed the same problem with other guest not being able to check in. I talked to one of the workers there and he told me that they were understaffed and they had to work long hours to get rooms ready. Out of the many years that I have stayed at Holiday inns around the country this one was the worst. August 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location Right on the Boardwalk in the center of Virginia Beach. Within walking distance of all attractions. Only criticisms are the lack of variety in the breakfast menu (especially since most visitors stay several days) and that there is no service elevator so housekeeping uses the main elevators which causes long backups for people going to their rooms. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unlikely to return unless housekeeping improves Took a family vacation here. Been to VA beach oceanfront and similar areas (e.g., Ocean City, MD) many times in the past. Also stayed at Holiday Inn/Express hotels with family in the past. So was disappointed in the stay here. Expected more. Room was not ready at check in (arrived at 5:30PM). Once in room, noticed bathroom toilet had not been cleaned - yes gross. Also at check in and during the stay we had to repeatedly request toilet paper (until our last night). It's like it was being rationed out. Elevators were a little slow but it is what it is. Breakfast was really good in taste and value. Really, Staff were ALL super friendly. Honestly, it is the housekeeping accuracy and efficiency that will keep us away from this hotel. Should it significantly improve would consider staying here again. August 21, 2015
