Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DuckyDaBest Platinum not honored!
I felt not welcome at this hotel. Although it is quite new and the rooms are acceptable, there are a few things which are absolutely annoying:
- the room walls are quite thin, so you are able to hear the neighbours babbling (or doing worse things)
- the air conditioning system is making noises in the middle of the night, even when switched of!
- rooms are quite small, but well, it's a HIE after all
The location is horrible - in the middle of nowhere; train prices to Marseille are 4.50€ each way (7,80 first class), which is for this short journey completely inacceptable (though, going by car and parking in Marseille would amount to the same).
Now, the personnel does not really know that a Platinum status is something valuable, and I have NOT been given an upgrade with the lame excuse that "for longer stays we can not offer any upgrades" - come on! the hotel was virtually empty every day during my stay in January!, and no extras at all! Besides, when I was going to eat a piece of cake in the lobby (because my room was quite small), they immediately started to interrupt me "this is against the law in France, and there could be a control"... well of course, there are hundreds of controls in the industrial area where the hotel is situated! Come on, don't think I am stupid! Hey, I even would have ordered (and paid for) a coffee!!!! No, the personnel has a lot to learn - though they possess the typical "American friendliness": hi howdoyoudo, glad you give us money, but everything else we don't care about!
Well, you got what you deserved: instead of staying 38 days, I just stayed 7 (that was, unfortunately, unavoidable for logistic reasons), and most certainly I will not return! Instead, I favour other hotel groups than Holiday Inn now...

This is a clean and comfortable airport hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The shuttle to and from the airport is a plus.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ButtondownAcademic Worked for me
The room had all the features I needed for an overnight stay near the airport: convenience, shuttle to/from the terminal, comfortable beds, clean bathroom and nice hot shower. The only major disappointment was meal service in the evening. The advertised buffet was not available, only a very high-priced, fairly unappetizing dinner. If it wasn't cost-effective to serve a full buffet, it would have been a courtesy if some lower-priced alternatives (even sandwiches!) had been made available. I also had trouble with the Internet connection, which faded in and out throughout the evening. Despite these issues, I found this stay a positive experience and would definitely use this hotel again if I need to be near the airport in Marseille.

Excellent Facility, and knowledgeable staff. Although it was a short stay for one night, I had a deep 3 hours sleep and enjoyed a good breakfast.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by markcov Comfortable bed, modern room, disappointing "restaurant"
The bed was large and comfortable.
The shower was big and enclosed with a glass door. So many other European showers are open and splash water on the floor. The toilet was far too close to the side wall / toilet paper holder and the seat was a very cheap and flimsy plastic.
The faucet on the sink wasn't the proper size for the sink bowl, so it was hard to put your hands under the nozzle without banging into the edge of the sink bowl.
The styling of the bathroom was modern, new and most important, clean. There were plenty of towels available.
The modern and clean styling continued into the room itself which was well laid out and comfortable.
There was no minibar/fridge available in the room.
The windows only cracked open a little bit to allow some fresh air in. The windows had full blackout curtains so I could fully darken the room in the middle of the afternoon and take a nap.
The internet service was spotty on the afternoon I arrived. It worked fine for several hours and then was intermittent for most of the night. I complained to the desk staff, but they didn't know what to do about it. Fortunately it appeared to just be a wireless issue, I plugged into the ethernet cable in the room and had no further problems.
No gym available on site, just the pool which isn't a useful option in the winter.
While checking in / out of the airport I had two large bags and the hotel staff didn't offer to help me with my bags either to or from the hotel to the airport shuttle, or up to my room. There were two of them behind the desk and they just watched me shuttle it from the front desk to the elevator, no offers of assistance.
The dinner restaurant was horrible. The "menu" was 8 eight items scribbled on a chalk board and that included the soup, salad, entrees and dessert choices. I had a 4 cheese tortellini dish and the pasta wasn't fully cooked. The dining area was the same as the breakfast area and not what i would expected for an actual restaurant. The hotel is located on the far side of the highway and there are no other options to walk to if you don't have a car. The other hotels near the airport at least allow you to walk to another hotel or even the airport at the worst.
The breakfast was nothing special, scrambled eggs, bacon, assorted breads, and a mix of coffee and tea. Definitely on the low end of what I would have expected compared to other Holiday Inn Expresses.
So, as long as you're staying here and have other dining options available, I recommend the place. If you're depending on the hotel for dinner, you'll be happier elsewhere.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Arthur1 The Best Holiday Inn Express Ever
As a Platinum business traveller I found everything about this hotel was excellent, the staff, the room, breakfast & evening meals, complimentary WIFI.
Remember this is a Holiday Inn Express so do not expect the same services found in a Holiday Inn.
And it was so close to the airport with complimentary shuttle.
The location may not be so good for family holiday makers without a car.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Steve19 Perfect for our itinerary
We stayed 7 nights in October, 2012. This hotel is an excellent value, very modern with clean, attractive rooms and American-quality bathrooms. It is not close to any restaurants, shops, markets, but the train station is within walking distance. There is a free shuttle to the train or the airport. Breakfast was very good with the usual choices of breads, cereals, yogurt, coffee and juice. There is a limited evening snack/entree menu. You may want to have a car in order to travel more of the Provence area, but we used buses and trains without problems. Staff here is excellent and English-speaking. There is internet and wi-fi service in the hotel. We did not try the pool, due to cold weather when we were there.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Josip Excellent location.
The hotel is designed and built in accordance with modern trends in the hotel industry. It is very comfortable, located near the airport. However, the mini bus driver would have done better if he was dressed a little more formally, similar to his female colleague. His clothes too sporty, too few working or official.
