Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 2 major issues for business travelers 1st major issue. The internet is the worse I have ever seen at a Holiday inn property. The internet was up and down all the time . It would go down for 20 minutes at a time. It took me forever to finish my work. When I informed the front desk I was told they were packed and they don't have bandwidth. This is unacceptable for usiness travelers. 2nd they ran out of hot food and coffee from 7:15 to 7:50. There was no one working the kitchen area and the front desk was doing there best to do both jobs. May 17, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Beware of Management I have many issues with this Holiday Inn in Waller TX. Issue number one is I booked a room at this location 3 months in advance for an event in the area. The event provided a discount code but this also required prepayment of the room. I had no issue with this and booked the room at the discounted rate. I get to the hotel to check in and they informed me they canceled my reservation because the credit card was declined. The card had been stolen and canceled two weeks before the reserved date. I was not contacted by the Holiday Inn Express in Waller TX when that happened. They informed me that I now had to pay the daily rate which was 50% more for the exact same room I had booked online. The manager on duty would not adjust the rate back down to the event rate. Then while I was there I booked a room for another date 3 weeks out. This is where the problem happens again. I show up on the evening of the event and they inform me that they had booked it for the evening before, they did not have any rooms, and they are billing me in full for the room plus taxes. Basically I would avoid this place as they refuse to take care of the customer. I would look at the Holiday Inn Express in Sealy TX instead. April 22, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not recommended if fitness center is important to you Check-in was a struggle. I arrived at 9PM, there were people in line trying to get a room and they were struggling to do so. When I reached the counter I had no issues with check-in. I went to my room which was very nice and changed into my workout clothes. I went to fitness center and the sign on door said hours were 6am to 11pm, it was about 9:30 pm and I could not get in with my room key. I went to front counter and had to wait on other guests being checked in and they were having problems again. I asked the counter attendant if I could access the fitness center and he told me the fitness center closes at 8pm but he would allow me in, I mentioned the sign on the door says open until 11 and he said, well after 8 you have to request admission....didn't understand this, but whatever. When I got in the fitness center I was disappointed to find non-brand name equipment. The treadmill felt like there was a 10 degree incline even though I was at 0 incline. I used machine for about 20 minutes and gave up, I usually work out for about 45 minutes. March 1, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay! Our family booked 3 rooms for 2 nights each here for our trip to the Ren Fest this year. We usually stay in Conroe but decided to give Waller a try this year, and we are so glad we did. We will definitely be back next year. The staff was very helpful and the manager was especially personable! Hotel was very clean, tidy and the staff was friendly and helpful. Even our miniature schnauzer enjoyed his stay! We had to use the business center during our stay and it was very accessible and functional. We will be back next year for sure! January 15, 2014

Our family came as a group of 15 to the Texas Renfest and had a marvelous stay. The staff was kind, all of the rooms immaculate, the food choices plentiful, the beds were comfy. No complaints! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Avoid if you are a Light Sleeper The hotel's amenities are standard for Holiday Inn. Quality of Breakfast is on the poor side, mainly because at 9 am already the coffee in all the coffee dispensers is lukewarm to cold. My main problem is the attitude of the reception staff: I asked for a room on the back side of the hotel because I am a light sleeper and jetlagged. I was told that all rooms in the hotel are very quiet, and we were consequently accommodated in a central room next to the elevator and adjacent to the ice machine (pillows against thin wall separates guest and ice machine room). I could hear the loud noise of the ice machine all night. I checked in at 5 pm, there was only 1 car on the parking, so the hotel cannot possibly have been fully booked at that moment. I left with an extremely unpleasant feeling - my worst Holiday Inn Experience so far. October 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Manager is very nice Stay here often. Very nice and clean. Thank God. It's the best hotel in Waller, tx. Only thing I would ask for is a 12 noon checkout and for pancake batter to be available during the entire breakfast time. Could not get corporate rate even though I had a corporate credit card. I was told I needed a specific card to get corporate rate. Not sure what that is since I never have before. Girl at desk then would not give me first floor room because of a discounted rate that I was finally given. The girl could not do anything without a Manager, and there were none to be found. I have never had so many problems at any hotel. I am considering using another chain for my traveling needs. I specified I needed a microwave and refrigerator and was told I could only have one in an upgraded room...The last thing a person on the road wants to hear when they finally stop for the night is no, no, no to every comfort always available to them. The hotel is close to several food chains, a local restaurant, and a CVS. Excellent location for my needs. Only issue was the front desk...not one time during my stay was there a person at the desk. I understand they are probably working, but for security purposes, I like to see a person there at all times. First time I have ever encountered this issue. When I arrived I had to call on a phone to get a person to check me in and get my room assigned. Rewards benefit was a bottled water...less than most places, but still appreciated. It appears the "Rewards" program is an after thought here. Not a problem in my decision to stay there next time, just not typical of a lot of the hotels I stay with. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff... The staff is very nice and professional. Check-in was fairly quick and they upgraded my room. The cost is average for a hotel of this type. The breakfast in the morning was good and I enjoyed getting a warm meal to start the day. The only two problems I had was the cleaning solution scent and lack of Rapid Express Checkout. The rooms and major areas are cleaned with something that leaves a very distinct scent that gave me a headache. The room was spotless and except for the scent I had no issues. If you are not sensitive to scents then it would be no big deal, for me it was exactly the opposite. If you are sensitive to smells it can be an issue. I would suggest something with a neutral scent to keep it pleasant for everyone. The lack of Rapid Express Checkout may also be no big deal to most but if you are in a rush it makes it a lot easier. Outside lighting important for security, but there has to be a better way of reducing the amount of light that comes into the room after the drapes are drawn and the lights turned out.
