Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best in area Chose this hotel because it was in the style of a hotel and not a motel like the other chains in the area. Was clean, comfortable and good for the overnight school function we were in town for. Only complaint (and it is minor) is that there was no thermostat to control room temp - only dial on unit that asked you to pick "colder" or "warmer" which is hard to determine when going to bed which resulted in my jumping in and out of bed several times through the night to make adjustments. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Just ok Unlike all of the other Holiday Inn Express this one was just ok. I have stayed at ones bigger, less expensive and better quality rooms. The frig didn't work, and hadn't worked in awhile. The bedding quality was poor, sheets kept coming off of mattress. I have even stayed at one in Florida that gave a complimentary beer and had a bar in the hotel. October 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great hotel in all areas Everyone is friendly and has a positive attiuted. There is one thing that I have to add that is not related to this hotel. When going to the web site to make a reservation and you check for the best rate. You have to continue to go back and check off different options (ie Senior, Military) before you get the best rate. You send me an email to answer questions and before I can send my reply I must give you my email address again. October 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't disappoint We stayed here last year and on the basis of the previous stay I stopped again. Still a great friendly staff-they helped me when I locked myself out, no sweat-and still VERY clean. Breakfast is a singular pleasure and the pancake machine is still a trip.This is a destination for us on our yearly excursion South and back in the spring. The beds are a great relief from typical lumpy, soft motel stuff. Firm and clean mattresses in a roon that doesn't have any funky smell. Don't laugh... that is all too common in even expensive motels these days. This place shines in all areas. Stay there and you'll feel your dollars are well spent. October 30, 2013

Adam helped me in the business center on several occasions and enabled me to save more than $10.00 at the Ruby Tuesdays by printing a coupon that was sent to me e mail. They told us about partner motel across the street that had an outdoor pool that was refreshing to swim in after a long day on the road. In the morning at the breakfast buffet Nancy was most gracious and provided a pleasant experience by her professionalism and courtesy. Thanks for an enjoyable stay September 24, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by overnight stay during travel We arrived late and left early, only staying overnight along our travel route. The staff were friendly. The room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast choices were average. The date on the milk was near expiration, but tasted expired. The pancake maker was a bit hard to figure out, and the staff seemed to be abrupt with directions. The biggest disappointment was the pool. since our kids were enduring two long days of driving, we looked forward to allowing them a morning in the pool before getting back on the road. The pool is across the street, and it was green, not swimmable. We specifically chose a facility with a pool but was unable to use it. This is a fine spot to stay if the location suits your needs, but you may want to call about the pool if it matters to you. September 9, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Handicap room was completely lacking! Asked for handicap room when making central reservation-explained we had a handicap child in a wheelchair. When we got to the property, we were told that a hearing impaired room was set aside for us. The clerk did find one remaining handicap room but it did not have a roll in shower and my son could not use it. It got worse when we found out the air conditioner was not keeping the room very cool but since this was the last handicap room we had no choice but to stay in the room. The clerk did bring a fan and that is the only way we could stay in the room. Overall not a good experience despite the efforts of the staff. September 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel, great staff, bad baggage carts In the world of hotel baggage carts, when the hotel chooses the ones with those soft air filled tires.... and you add several suitcases, they simply don't work. The tires get 1/2 flat, the cart won't turn... makes check in and check out... lousy. Ruins an otherwise lovely stay. The staff member in the breakfast area was TERRIFIC. August 30, 2013

Our room seemed larger than the usual HIE rooms, and had a refrigerator, microwave, and actual closet. All of the staff was very friendly, and were happy to help me when I locked the keys in the room during breakfast. The hotel is also very convenient to I-95. August 20, 2013

We were tired, looking for a quiet spot and found it here. Breakfast was the standard fare, but again, breakfast staff was great. Would recommend as the price is a good value. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Family traveling on 95 We got a late start from Orlando and didn't make it as far as we usually do on 95 heading north to Philadelphia. We called several hotels in Walterboro, and the Holiday Inn Express had a competitive rate for the quality of room we'd be getting. Mind you, I HATE spending money on hotel rooms when all I need is a bed and a shower, but traveling with my family causes me to re-think my frugality. Needless to say, everyone was happy with our room and I was happy with the rate. The queen size beds are roomy and easily sleep 2 adults. August 12, 2013

Check-in was prompt and our room was all that we have come to expect from HIE; neat, clean, comfortable and everything of quality and in working order. We slept very well and had no problem finding delicious breakfast items to meet our tastes. Always a pleasure to stay here after a long drive. Cracker Barrel Restaurant is a short walk directly across the street, so you don't even have to drive for dinner. July 31, 2013
