I live 2 hours away. I thought I was purchasing a room over the phone for my family to stay the night. But once they arrived holiday inn wouldn't fulfill the reservation because I was not present with the card used to purchase the room. I clearly explained to the reservation Dept during the time of making the reservation that I was not going to be present and even had them add my family member's name so there would not be any problems during check in. They took my card info and sent me an email confirming. I had no worries knowing my family was safe for the night until I get a phone call that they will not fulfill the reservation. After talking to corporate my call was recorded and the reservation Dept neglected to have me complete a form required when you will not be present. All this mix up because someone didn't do their job! Beware of the reservation dept. You must double check everything.

Our experience at this holiday inn express was the best. Except for the breakfast there is nothing I would complain about.
I would recommend it. It is a comfortable distance to the attractions of WDC.

The hotel was clean and the rooms were comfortable. We had a king suite. The layout with the separate sitting area, two TV's small table and desk was extremely nice. The refrigerator and bar sink were nice but the faucet was not properly fastened to the sink and you had to hold it in place while you turned on the faucet. I tried to tighten it up but whoever installed it never put the nuts underneath it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I'm sure they would have addressed this for us but we were too busy to deal with it. The breakfast buffet was good and very convenient. The front desk staff seemed to work extremely hard; trying to answer calls and check in guests simultaneously. I think that the management should have more than one person there. We found it hard to get a decent night sleep with the noise from a bus garage behind one corner of the property; and we were on the 4th floor. We would stay here again but probably request a room that was further up the hall in the hotel. One of the elevators was out of service the last 2 of the 3 days that we spent there which was most inconvenient. It is hard to imagine that the management was unable to have the elevator fixed in a day.
