* some rooms with steel doors, not yet renovated
* water tastes horrible
* terrible landscaping, untrimmed yews
* milk, yogurt & eggs left in broken refrigerator
* stale muffins at breakfast
* do not stay here, unless all others are booked

We stayed the night for a concert at the Palace in Auburn Hills. It was a nice, clean hotel, and the staff was very friendly.

Service was excellent. I have stayed there on 2 different occasions and plan on staying there again. The staff called me by name. They made me feel very comfortable and cared about my visit. The bed was extremely comfortable. I was there on business. I could have stayed closer to my business, but after my first visit, I wanted to come back there.

Our bathroom faucet had a continuous run (not drip, but run). I told the housekeeper, who did not speak English so she followed me to the room so I could show her the water. I wasn't sure she completely understood so I stopped at the front desk to let them know, but the housekeeper had already called maintenance and they were already in the room assessing the problem by the time I walked from our room to arriving at front desk! The housekeeper, (unfortunately I did not get her name), should be commended on how quickly she addressed the problem. The problem with the faucet did not hinder our stay in any way; it was just a waste of valuable water.

There were no complaints about this stay. All of the things that were important to me staying at a hotel were top notch. Questions were answered and the registration attendant offered additional information about the area regarding great places to dine. The Holiday Inn Express out-shined in MANY ways other chain hotels that I have stayed in. My only recommendation for change is the pre- prepared eggs at breakfast be changed to fresh scrambled eggs but even at that, it isn't a deal breaker since there were many other choices for a healthy breakfast. One couldn't ask for a cleaner facility to stay at.
