We have stayed at this hotel in the past and will stay here again next year. I highly recommend it. The location is great, the staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean.

Drove from Charlottetown PEI to attend wedding in Kitchener-Waterloo. Three night stay at HI Waterloo-St. Jacobs was very enjoyable and exiting. Comfort and privacy when needed and the ability to host in our suite added to the enjoyment. Staff very friendly and professional and helpful Stayed in HI Kingston enroute but this one was far superior. Thanks to all at HI !!!

The bed was very comfortable, firm enough for me yet soft enough for my spouse. The pillows were beyond fabulous, and so many of them! Wonderful for propping oneself up to read or do puzzles.
The bed is set up so you can watch tv either from the bed or the "living" area. We were there in-between destinations, but chose the hotel specifically for its proximity to the Farmer's Market. You literally walk across the road and you're there.
I have to say, the room was so comfortable that I had the best sleep I've had in ages. There is nothing worse than having an uncomfortable bed while on vacation, and there is truly nothing that improves a vacation than an amazing sleep on a comfy bed.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. You don't hear noise, you're coddled in a lovely bed, and enjoy pampering yourself. Bonus? The playhouse, outlet stores

I stayed here for business and found the hotel clean and the staff friendly. I will return the next time business takes me to this area.

Enjoyed expressing a number of small issues with the Manager.
i.e. the use of Sweet n Low in the breakfast area as a sugar substitute, very poor quality, won't use personally and Splenda is healthier and if it's used by MacDonald's?
the other issue was a scent plug-in in the public Women's washroom off the lobby, it was over powering and totally unnecessary.. especially with allergy issues these days.
and we discussed an accessible room's need for 2 Q beds, when space could be better utilized, but I understand the hotels decision for usage purposes.
Very personable manager and am anxious to see if he implements any of my suggestions before I return in June.

My daughter's basketball team was staying at this hotel for a tournament. When one of the coaches tried to check in, he was told that the hotel was full and then offered a room at a hotel in Guelph (which is even worse when you consider that he was car-pooling with another coach and didn't have his own car...).
The room reservation was guaranteed and was part of a group for the team. It is obviously not acceptable to have one of the coaches staying at another hotel, much less one that is not even close by. Clearly the hotel should have made sure it had the available rooms for the group (& then not given those rooms to anyone else), but that is obviously not how they think.
It doesn't matter how nice a hotel is (& this one is basically average). If you cannot trust a hotel to hold all the reservations within a group, then you cannot try to stay there.
While we managed to put the coach in a room with another parent for a night, the hotel could not have known that this was going to be possible.
In summary, be careful when dealing with this hotel. I know I'll never go back.
