We booked our hotel stay well in advance and then did not catch an error that we booked a day earlier than we needed. When arriving at the hotel, we had no room because the hotel had cancelled our stay and then charged us a no-show fee. They gave us a different room and were nice enough to discount the fee. However, after visiting with the manager to discuss the no-show fee, she showed no compassion for the situation, insisting that the no-show fee is to collect so the hotel can make its money on the room because the hotel policy is that they cannot re-sell a no-show room. Regardless of the hotel policy, the way the manager handled the situation will cost them our future business as well as negative word of mouth advertising about the lack of customer service. The bottom line is that the hotel has chosen to lose our business rather that make the situation right and gain additional business. So the result for us as customers is that the one night stay turned into a 3-night's stay cost. There is ALWAYS a way to handle situations like this to be a win-win, regardless of policy…..and the hotel manager is unaware of how to manage such issues. We understand where our error occurred and we have learned our lesson. However, we will take this opportunity to share with others that this is not a hotel of choice, where service is the first priority.
To add to the review, while the breakfast variety was great, the room comfort was not the best HI Express we have stayed at, the walls are thin (be prepared to be awakened by loud guests at night), and less than stellar on cleanness in the hallways and common areas.

This was a nice hotel--clean-fresh-good breakfast.
Front staff did not recognize me as an Platinum Elite member without me reminding her.
Breakfast attendant lady was rude.

Have no complaints I just stopped in on my travel to north Dakota. Putting in 50 characters for the review of the hotel and services is a limitation I do not care for.

They had dairy and gluten free options for my daughter who has allergies. The pool is amazing and welcoming for kids of all ages. We will definitely be staying here again.

This is a nice motel with friendly staff and a fine breakfast in the morning. Ample parking for boats and trailer. Didn't notice if they had electrical plug ins for charging boat batteries. My room seem slightly cramped but that may be because I had been staying in a king suite the week before. No complaints at all. Nice stay.
