Although the hotel is on a hill, it appears that the entrance needs re-engineered to make it easier to spot and to enter/exit. Would suggest a second entry/exit lower on the hill. September 17, 2014

I am not knocking Holiday Inn here, and while you would generally expect a solid product from Holiday Inn, I didn't anticipate ending up in the 5 star hotel that we ended up in. We would definitely stay again in a heart beat next time we are in the Shenendoah Valley. September 10, 2014

The pool area wall was being worked on and the wall by the hot tub was ripped open and had what looked like black mold. They should put up a screen to shield the work when not actually working. The bathroom door to toilet had about 1/2 inch clearance and made the bathroom seem cramped. September 9, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This place has really gone down hill Bugs in the hallway, sink did not drain, hot water on the wrong side, Breakfast bar was not kept stocked well! I used to like this hotel, but it has really gone down hill. I was never asked how my stay was. As a Platinum member I stay in a lot of Holiday Inns. This was a free night for my loyalty. What a waste. This is my last stay at this hotel. Happy that it was only one night. September 8, 2014

As a single female traveler, I was placed in a room on the damp musty lower floor with an entrance in a dark creepy corner. Even the view outside my window was of an almost completely hidden, easily accessible area to gain entrance into my room through the window. I was unsettled all night due to concern about my safety and the dankness of the room and entire floor. September 8, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bugs in room, poor quality matresses We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Waynesboro. We arrived late at night after a road trip and got the kids into bed. Only after they were asleep did we see three or four water beetles running around the room. It were earlier in the day, we would have checked out and moved, but we decided to rough it for one night. We found a few more beetles in the morning in the room and bathroom. We advised the front desk at checkout, and the clerk said that the hotel had been battling a water beetle problem, but that they thought they had gotten them all. Clearly not. Also, the mattresses in our room were very old, noisy, and not comfortable. The hotel is well-located in Waynesboro, though. September 5, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Old hotel that needs an update My family stayed here for one night. For the price I was terribly disappointed in the quality of the hotel. The lobby was very nice and newly updated, however the rest of the hotel was not including the guest rooms. Our room was big, but that's the best thing I can say about it. We tried to move a lamp to get a little more room, it had been set on a "base" of concrete that was completely broken and in pieces. The vanity was coming apart and had been screwed back together, the sofa bed that my oldest daughter slept on had rips and springs coming out of it, the regular queen beds that the rest of the family slept on had plastic coverings on them under the sheets so it sounded like you were sleeping on a diaper, and the vent in the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in 10 years or more. The heated pool was not heated very warm at all and there was plenty of open plywood on the walls where they were doing remodeling, but there were so many water stains that it was obvious they hadn't done any remodeling in a while. On the plus side, breakfast was pretty good and the staff kept everything filled up. Front desk staff was very friendly and check in-check out were quick and efficient. For the price paid there have to be better hotels in the area. August 19, 2014

We have always had a pleasant experience and this year was no different. The desk staff, kitchen staff, and cleaning staff could not be more accomadating. We are already making our plans for 2015.
