Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Slipping over time I am a rewards member and have been staying at this particular location nearly every month since last summer. When I found it I was very happy as the location was perfect for my needs, the staff was very customer oriented, and the property clean and well maintained. However, i have noticed a steady decline in the last three or four months. My last stay was in mid-April, 2015 and it was very disappointing. The property has begun to look a little shabby, especially the elevator area. There was no hot water on either morning I stayed. I resorted to heating water in the in-room coffee maker and pouring it in the sink to take a sponge bath at 6:00AM. There was also no breakfast other than a few yogurt cups and some dry cereal. I was able to get 1/2 cup of coffee before leaving for the day. I understand that problems arise when there are unexpected staff absences, which was likely the case on the morning of the absent breakfast. However, I was greatly disappointed that no explanation was give and no apology offered to the guests. The same was true on the night that the fire alarm went off. We were not told of anything and were left to surmise that it was safe to return to our rooms by picking up on the discussion and actions of the fire fighters who were on the scene. On the positive side, the beds are very comfortable and the location is quiet. I wish I could say that these problems-no hot water, no breakfast, no communication from staff- were one time issues, but I have seen a pattern developing. I will have to seriously reconsider my choice of lodging in the future and this might be the loser. April 22, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not a great experience We must have hit a 'bad day' but the desk clerk couldn't have been any ruder and the overall hotel appearance - rough. Breakfast was iffy and the 11pm fire alarm made for a tough nite. We have become fans of Holiday Inn Express but our cheers for Mt Holly are pretty faint. April 15, 2015

Every day arriving back to room, room was made up, but no towels to be found, had to go to the front desk and ask for them. One of the nights, the woman behind the counter seemed very annoyed that she had to stop talking on her cell phone long enough to tell me I couldn't have any towels because she was washing them (after 5pm). Every night, had to have the key to the room re done because it didn't work anymore. Breakfast, which is supposed to start at 6:30, never got started any earlier than 7. Service was absolutely horrible, wouldn't stay here again if you paid me. April 10, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Stay The hotel at first glance wasn't to exciting. It was next to a Court Yard Marriot that looked much better. Once in the very small lobby we were able to check in with out to much trouble. The elevator was broken so we had to carry ou luggage to the 3rd floor. The rooms were not that clean. I had a constant problem with the ac/heating unit. It did not work properly. The furmiture was very basic and cheap. The beds were very uncomfortable. I've been at other Holiday Inn Express and they had much nicer beds. The towel rack in the bathroom was hanging on by a wing and a prayer. Everytime you took a hand towel off the bar would fall to the ground. Only 1 roll of toilet paper in the room. I had to go down to the front desk to get another. Just a disapointing stay. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room with a few issues Compared to other hotels at the same price or better, we were disappointed with a lack of amenities and an overall lack of maintenance. The room was clean and comfortable, but had no refrigerator, no guest services book, very few towels, and a creepy flickering light. The elevator was out of service, and we needed to use the laundry, but only found one washer and one dryer which were in use all evening. April 8, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel I stayed at this hotel many times but this time I was not acknowledged as a platinum member and I had booked the Presidential suite and the lady acted surprised. Wasn't told about breakfast or nothing. Normally the staff is great but she must have been having a bad day. Everything else was great and I will be back. April 4, 2015
