We must have hit a 'bad day' but the desk clerk couldn't have been any ruder and the overall hotel appearance - rough. Breakfast was iffy and the 11pm fire alarm made for a tough nite.
We have become fans of Holiday Inn Express but our cheers for Mt Holly are pretty faint.

Stayed for 4 nights. Every day arriving back to room, room was made up, but no towels to be found, had to go to the front desk and ask for them. One of the nights, the woman behind the counter seemed very annoyed that she had to stop talking on her cell phone long enough to tell me I couldn't have any towels because she was washing them (after 5pm). Every night, had to have the key to the room re done because it didn't work anymore. Breakfast, which is supposed to start at 6:30, never got started any earlier than 7. Service was absolutely horrible, wouldn't stay here again if you paid me.

The hotel at first glance wasn't to exciting. It was next to a Court Yard Marriot that looked much better. Once in the very small lobby we were able to check in with out to much trouble. The elevator was broken so we had to carry ou luggage to the 3rd floor. The rooms were not that clean. I had a constant problem with the ac/heating unit. It did not work properly. The furmiture was very basic and cheap. The beds were very uncomfortable. I've been at other Holiday Inn Express and they had much nicer beds. The towel rack in the bathroom was hanging on by a wing and a prayer. Everytime you took a hand towel off the bar would fall to the ground. Only 1 roll of toilet paper in the room. I had to go down to the front desk to get another. Just a disapointing stay.

Compared to other hotels at the same price or better, we were disappointed with a lack of amenities and an overall lack of maintenance. The room was clean and comfortable, but had no refrigerator, no guest services book, very few towels, and a creepy flickering light. The elevator was out of service, and we needed to use the laundry, but only found one washer and one dryer which were in use all evening.

Our stay was welcomed by a great group of employees and we really enjoyed the hospitality and friendliness of the team there. The hotel manager was great to us. Thank you all.

I stayed at this hotel many times but this time I was not acknowledged as a platinum member and I had booked the Presidential suite and the lady acted surprised. Wasn't told about breakfast or nothing. Normally the staff is great but she must have been having a bad day. Everything else was great and I will be back.

OK place - easy access to interstate - avoid the TGIF and go across to "Recovery" good happy hour prices and selections.
