Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by cold room Cold room, heater was completely turned off, took two hours just to get it to seventy degrees in the room. When the temperature is cold outside one does expect when they check in a room that they are not greeted with a cold room of fifty three degrees. When something like this is presented to the front desk that person should somehow offer something to satisfy the complaint. February 18, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Overall stay Gary and I are not fussy folks, but we do expect a level of cleanliness and good conditions when we stay at any hotel. We stay at the Holiday Inn for convenience and pay an equitable fee to expect the aforementioned. The associates were polite but very busy and this may have curtailed that little extra friendliness that we are used to w/those representing the Holiday Inn. Your associates did address any concerns or needs we had during our stay and did so post haste. I forgot to mention that the door windows were dirty when we first arrived - first impressions very important. Again, thank you for allowing us to share our concerns w/you. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by They made it up to me, but... First of all, I like this property. But when we visited, our trip coincided with a legion of kids here for hockey tournaments. They constantly screamed in the hallway and ran around, no parents in sight, and, sadly, hotel management was not around to stop them either. I tried to ignore this until one of the kids rapped on my door and rang the doorbell, then ran away. Finally, the kids pushed all the elevator buttons until it stopped working. A member of our party is in a wheelchair, so we were trapped for awhile on the third floor. Finally, I'd had enough, and I contacted hotel management. They were apologetic (but the kids continued running wild.) Finally, a nice manager credited us for one night of a two-night stay. I accepted the gesture, but in the future I would suggest that those running the hotel require parental supervision of young, rowdy kids. January 22, 2015

It had all the basics that you need including clean room, plenty of towels, free breakfast, LCD TV, and free high speed wireless Internet all at a bare bones price. I've stayed at several luxury hotels that didn't come close to the accommodations at the HIE that cost several times more. Highly recommended if you need a place to stay in the Springfield area. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Visit The hotel appeared clean and friendly. Unfortunately the pool was closed, but at least the front desk had called in advance to let us know in case we wanted to change our lodging plans. The breakfast was adequate and fresh. The beds and pull out sofa were not very comfortable. We were able to feel the springs in both beds and the couch...made for not a very good night of sleeping. Enjoyed using the breakfast room in the evening to play games with family members. Would have liked to enjoy the fireplace, but staff members did not know how to turn it on. January 5, 2015
