Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hockey tournament Good location, near rink. Lots of restaurants nearby. Hotel is a good choice. Security roamed halls at night. Able to keep kids busy in the pool, no knee hockey in the halls. Breakfast area has tables and sofas, but not enough room to fit hockey team, parents and siblings. Nothing to complain about. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Has gotten worse I chose to stay here with my family on a recent trip because I had a good experience a couple years ago while I was out when my mom was dying and then when I buried her. However a nice and not too old property, the service was terrible. I initiated every conversation with the front desk staff as they chose to avert their eyes while I was walking through - not exactly up to brand standards before or after the rebranding process. The pool was nice and my daughter enjoyed it immensely. In the morning we were harassed by the housekeeping staff 3 times. While we were in the room we heard a faint knocking at which point the door was opened by a housekeeper with headphones on. This was 9:24 in the morning and check out is 11 a.m. Perhaps this is my fault for not putting the no Disturb sign on the door but I will do this at all times in the future at Holiday Inn if I chose to frequent them. The same housekeeping member came back at 10:22 after we had stated we were checking out at 11 a.m. Again they keyed into the room after a light tap with a room key not waiting for a response. My wife answered the door but guess what? We are checking out at 11am ~ listen to your guests and not your headphones as it really shows how much you don't care. After I started loading up our vehicle the same housekeeper with the headphones asked me a third time in the hallway when we intended on checking out of the hotel. Are you kidding me? You have a clipboard for a reason. We went to breakfast where there was no juice available, there were no paper plates presented to put food on, the pancake machine was out of order and there was not enough seating for everyone. Are you even trying?! It's not like it's a full breakfast. Needless to say I will not be staying at this hotel in the future. You work at a nice property there is nothing to complain about you just have to be decent to people and have the items that are supposed to be available. This is a base expectation and if you cannot meet it get out of hospitality. January 6, 2016
