Great stopping off spot in route to San Luis Obispo from Reno. Easy day's drive distance, breaking up the drive at somewhat of a mid point location.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KV888 Great Place and Great Staff, a pleasant place to stay on I-5
This Westley Holiday Inn is one of the older ones, or at least it's showing it's age. The rooms are a bit smaller than some of the other Holiday Inn Expresses I've stayed in. Being a Platinum Elite Member, I've seen a lot of Holiday Inn Expresses for my business travels. I arrived mid week just after official check in time of 4pm. Not too many people around, but the dust from the road construction just out side the hotel was all over. There is a big truck stop just up the road, so you have a lot of truck traffic around here.
But once inside my room, I didn't hear any noise. Like I said, the rooms are a bit smaller with the bathroom sink vanity out in the same room as the bedroom. The desk was a bit smaller than what I am used to. The air conditioning worked well, although a bit noisy as with most wall mounted units so common at these Holiday Inn Expresses. The TV worked well and I was able to hook the TV to my laptop and play Netflix on the TV! The wireless internet works pretty well, until later in the evening when everybody else gets on the internet and the speed slows way down. I forgot my wired connection, which may have sped things up. So, tip: bring an ethernet cable for your computer and you might see full speed better.
The staff here was quite helpful in keeping up with my requests of having a room on the ground floor and near the front. If you get a room like this, there is sure a lot less walking to do when you come and go from your room and to get to the free breakfast buffet in the morning, especially if you want to serve breakfast in bed! The buffet was pretty standard for all the Holiday Inns, it's feeds you but don't expect anything to write home about. The pancake machine is quite amusing to watch as the pancake emerges out from the rollers and plops onto your plate. Every room has a fridge and microwave, so that help with food storage if you have any. There are not too many dining opportunities surrounding this hotel, but there is a great Mexican restaurant just up the street, otherwise it's fast food. Good place to spend a night if you are on your way along I-5, but probably not really a reason to spend more nights here. I'll still use the place again, if I'm in the area.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by norkar68 First time stay
We were travelling from Vancouver, BC to Palm Springs, CA and looking for a place to stay. After checking in we went to look for a place to eat, it was OK but not a lot of choices were available. We did however find a coupon book which had one for the Holiday Inn and we took it back to the check-in. I probably wouldn't have bothered if the amount had been for $10 - $15 less but the discount was almost 50% off, when I asked if they would honor it, the complied and when checking out the coupon had been applied. Very appreciative. The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety and suited our needs perfectly. Will look again for a Holiday Inn Express when we return to Canada in the spring.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Seagal07 Great hotel and service with comfortable accommodations along the 5
If you want a great place to stay, with inside doors, well updated rooms, great service, and a comfy bed, this is your place. It is both affordable and easy to get to from the 5. The rooms are updated and look like the current era, rather than 1970 or 1980, and the staff is top notch.
During my relocation, I stayed here as the halfway point and was exhausted. The staff was great and very helpful with all of my questions. The room was also pet friendly and gave few hiding places that couldn't be reached in the morning when it came time to go.
I have stayed at this hotel in the past and have always had a great experience. Once detractor is the semi-truck noise on the back of the property. Try and get a room that faces the driveway on the front. The truck stops and restaurants draw a lot of traffic and can be noisy, particularly on the first floor.
