As a business traveler, I was very happy to find upon arrival that all the matresses in the hotel were new. The staff here are friendly and I was very comfortable during my stay.

This hotel is my all time favorite. I have stayed here many times and have never had a bad experience. The staff are super nice, down to earth, real people. The rooms are clean, spacious, safe, and well kept. The breakfast and little ladies that work it, are awesome.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Overpriced for what amounts to an average experience
For the price that we paid for our stay, I just expected a little more out of our room and the experience over-all.
It wasn't necessarily bad (the rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was generally friendly) but I could expect that with a hotel for half the price that we paid.
Ill start with the pros: Very friendly welcome staff when we first arrived. Room was clean. Hotel is older but has been kept nice and renovated with the times.
Cons: The room was warm when we arrived as the air had been cut off. I expect that in a less pricey hotel, but for what we paid, most hotels at least have the air on a comfortable level. The in room fridge was unplugged for some reason - maybe to save electricity? Plugging it in required moving heavy furniture to access the outlet.
Breakfast was advertised as a valuable amenity, but the setup is too crowded for the number of guests and the food is very low quality - mostly frozen items that had been heated up. Some guests had to wait in line 20 minutes on Sunday morning just to get to the little buffet area that was set up. The breakfast staff was not friendly and was very slow.
The side door key card only works when it wants to. We were told this by the front staff the first night. At first it worked for me, and then the next night it didn't and we had to walk around the building to get in.
Overall the experience was just ok. I would expect to pay at least $50 less for a comparable room, but as the Holiday Inn nearly has a monopoly on hotels in Wilkesboro, it seems that they can charge what they want. If I have a choice, I may not stay here again.

WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE UNCOMFORTABLE MATTRESS, , ALSO THE LINENS WERE LIKE SAND PAPER. EXPECTED MORE FOR THE PRICE PAID. ON THE WAY HOME HAD TO MAKE ANOTHER NITES STAY, PICKED DAYS INN, EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE BED AND THE TOWELS IN BATH WERE PLUSH, PRICE FOR THE NITE WAS HALF OF WHAT WE PAID. HOW IS IT, YOU CHARGE THE HIGHEST PRICE AND GIVE THE CUSTOMER THE LEAST VALUE WE ARE HOLIDAY INN PRIORITY GUEST MEMBERS, AND VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED.

For the area, this is the best choice within the Holiday Inn group.
The standard rooms do not include a suitable work area. However, when I asked for a room with a desk, I was upgraded to a larger room that was OK. The staff of the hotel was very attentive and helped make the stay better. The hotel is out of date and needs upgrades. I would stay here again, but will be selective about my room. There are many local restaurants in the area and I did feel safe and secure. The breakfast was good and well stocked and the area was clean.

Overall the stay was good. All employees were great! Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is older, bathroom was extremely small and all the doors in the room needed to be replaced, they were very worn/damaged. There were some nice modifications to this hotel but it still had a sense of "old" to it. It was clean. I always stay at Holiday Inn Express, but I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the "oldness" this hotel had. All of the others I have stayed at were a lot nicer.

Stayed here while on a motorcycle trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway. Awesome folks with a family approach. Will definitely stay here again! Wish I could give it 10 stars, they deserve it!

I spent the greater portion of August at this hotel. The property was well kept, and the rooms were great. The most memorable thing for me was the excellence of the staff. From the front desk staff to the house keeping staff, they were all great. I cannot speak highly enough of the courteousness and professionalism exhibited by everyone working there. My son and I stayed in Wilkesboro when we visited Tweetsie Railroad. Although it was a half hour away, we were pleased with our choice because the cost was less, there was a Golden Corral and other choices for dinner very close at hand and we had the breakfast buffet in the hotel. Over all a comfortable and relaxing visit.

This was our second stay at this hotel and we plan to be back next year for Merlefest. The manager has been very helpful to us and she keeps the breakfast buffet well stocked. Everyone on the staff is friendly and personable.

I had en eventful weekend and drove 1070 miles on Sunday to be in Wilkesboro, NC because I had a 5:45 AM start time on Monday. Arrived Sunday night at about 11:20 PM for check in. Asked for a 5 AM wake-up call and tried to get to sleep ASAP. Unfortunately I awoke at 5:40 AM on Monday due to the fact that I didn't receive a wake-up call. I don't like to be late for anything, least of all work on a Monday morning. This is not the way I wanted to start my Monday or my week!

We were in town for family memorial service. We were impressed with everything about our stay. The staff was courteous and helpful. Our rooms were spotless. The best reasonably priced motel we ever had the pleasure of visiting. Would heartily recommend it to anyone. And not to forget the full breakfast. even the eggs were good! The children especially liked the automatic pancake machine. they thought it was so cool to push a button and watch two fresh pancakes come off the mini-conveyor. Like magic!!!

During our stay as well as previously, the beds were extremely terrible and need to be replaced. However the servers both behind the desk and in the food area was extremely helpful and wonderful to deal with.
I believe however, the beds are hard enough that I could not in good health stay at that Holiday again unless they were changed.

I stay at the Holiday in Wilksboro very often for my job and I like it a lot. The staff is really friendly and helpful and the rooms are always clean and cozy. I also love the complementary cookies : ) The hotel is in a very convenient location which is great! The only thing I can say is that the breakfast isn't amazing. Its pretty standard, nothing spectacular. But I still highly recommend staying here.

Was very pleased with our stay. I've stayed in many motels, but the staff here was very pleasant and friendly, the room was very clean and the breakfast had many choices. Had a good nights sleep as it was very quiet and comfortable. Will plan to stay here again ASAP. Extend to your staff my appreciation.

Our family has stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Wilkesboro for years on the weekend after Thanksgiving. That is our lodging location when we go to the mountains for our Christmas tree. The staff are always so polite and efficient. The room was very clean.
