We were in town filming something, and the staff at this hotel was super nice. If you are searching reviews wondering which hotel is the best in the area, book this hands down.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Don359 GREAT REST! GREAT HOTEL! GREAT STAFF! GREAT LOCATION! GREAT BREAKFAST!! JUST GREAT!!
I truly enjoy stopping here at THIS Holiday Inn Express!
It is VERY sad indeed that this hotel was struck by calamity. They are WORKING SO VERY HARD to rectify the problems caused by the water line break! It is so sad that most people do not know the facts about why the conditions exist they only see the current state. And, they have done a GREAT JOB with the repairs they have already made!! Very Very Soon they will have it as good as new!!!
BUT, I know, I know they are working so very hard to correct this horrendous calamity that has befell upon them... To imagine All that water. Please allow me to digress, fire suppression systems use large diameter pipe. That means a TREMENDOUS amount of water and, Water does tremendous damage so very quickly!
I was a firefighter for 25 years and, we worked very hard to limit the damage OUR water would do to unaffected parts of a structure. Water we desperately need to extinguish fire! Any way, All I am trying to say is this place has had a tough row to hoe and, I am proud to see them working so hard to correct this issues.
I will stay here again and, again! The Staff is Wonderful! The property WILL be wonderful again soon! I love all the space they have for parking large vehicles and I hope they purchase and, pave some of that area so they will keep it in the future when the neighboring plots of land are developed.
Keep up the GREAT work Wilcox HIX!!
I'll see you again the next time I come thru!!
Thank You for reading my review! I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making the post!

We love staying in HIE hotels when travelling, because they are the most consistent in comfort and quality. We love the breakfasts, as this helps us get on the road quickly in the morning. This hotel was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the experience and had no complaints.

Some friends and I were in eastern Arizona for several days and were lucky enough to stay at the Holiday Inn in Willcox. The staff is great. I had had some disastrous experiences with one of those on-line booking agencies, and Susan was able to help me out with reservations. The hotel is new, quiet, well maintained, and a real delight. Lots of restaurants close by, plus a large Safeway. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn.

First, thank you to this Holiday Inn Express for being dog friendly!
It is in a convenient location right off the freeway, it's newer with clean, comfortable rooms, and the rates and pet fee are very reasonable. Great choice if you are in the area and traveling with your dog.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DSpencer Smoke from outside
I have stayed here many time and have always had a good experience. However, this last time I had a room on the second floor above the front door. Everything was OK until about 2:00 AM. I woke up with a strong cigarette smell in the room. It was coming from the smokers sitting on a bench outside by the front door. What good is a non-smoking room if smoke still comes in. I called the front desk but they were no help. I never got back to sleep and was very tired the next day. I may stay again but only in a room far away from the front door. Also, when entering the hotel you must hold your breath as you pass thru a gauntlet of smokers.

I started staying at the Willcox HIX five years ago when it first opened. It was a great addition for this small town and with the growth of wineries and festivals it has been a nice new option. However, five years later, if there was another option, we would stay at another hotel. Management is letting this hotel run down and run down fast. Also, the mattresses are as hard as a rock. I felt like I was sleeping on the floor. I just hope they will start taking better care of this hotel, so we can stay over night vs drive back to Tucson. It's been a great option in the past.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Brenda824 Clean with Comfortable Beds
Good - it was clean and the beds were comfortable.
Bad - We arrived very late and the night checkin was horrible. The woman was rude and the least helpful we experienced during our entire cross country trip. We were tired and not thinking clearly. Instead of being helpful, she would sigh loudly. She kept repeating over and over your "id and credit card" even though it was clear my hands were full and I was trying to set stuff down to get to my wallet. She did the same thing to my sister who had already put hers on the counter. My sister finally asked if she needed to place it directly into her hands. When we told her we had been traveling for over 14 hours and could she have some patience, she just stared at us... Need to train night staff on customer service. Otherwise would have given an Excellent to staff & service.
Great - The rest of the staff were wonderful. They were friendly and very helpful. So much so that when we got down the road a few miles and realized we had left our grandson's blankie, they made sure I was able to check both rooms thoroughly. We found the blanket and had a happy child.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pat40 Comfy bed and great breakfast.
Recently visited Wilcox, touring the wine country and of course Apple Annies. After reading reviews on all the local hotels, we chose Holiday Inn Express. What a delightful stay. Rooms were very clean. updated and bedding soooo comfortable. In fact I have ordered their bedding on the internet. Front desk staff was super friendly. The breakfast was yummy, with many choices and they have a great pancake machine. Will stay here again next year.

I was in town for work. The hotel had good wifi which I really need. There was also an option for a direct internet hook up for better security. There was no charge for the internet. It is very nicely located near the I10 for getting in and out town which was helpful to me. The facility is very nice and relaxing. The staff was really friendly and helpful.

Was happy to see this HIE between El Paso and Tucson. I arrived early in the evening and had already made my reservation more than an hour ahead of time. I had to tell the person at the counter I was a rewards member and she told me I was not.
I was surprised to find there was no refrigerator in the room. This is one of the reasons I stay at these hotels. I called the front desk and was told those rooms were gone and they charge extra for that.
Early in the morning they rattled the door when they slid the bill under and was unable to get back to sleep.
Nobody was at the front desk when I left so I tossed the card key on the counter.
Rooms are updated pretty well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Peachtime24 Nice clean hotel
There are not many choices in Willcox, but this hotel was much better than expected. The staff went out of their way to be sure we were happy, the lady in charge of breakfast stayed on top of making sure tables were clean and food was refreshed as needed. The bed really was comfortable and the airconditioner did not wake us up when it cycled on and off during the night. A good night sleep!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by yogi12 Rested well
Everything was good EXCEPT for our breakfast experience.
However, it was other guests having breakfast at the same time that gave us a "memory plus a headache". Let me explain:
Two families had children who were allowed to run, yell and scream in the breakfast area the whole time. The "Breakfast Lady" was no where to be seen at that time. We quickly ate our breakfast and left. This does not bother some people. We were raised differently, so I have to remember that. Other than this, I would recommend this hotel.

We were extremely pleased by the kind considerations of the general manager for my wife, who is a wheelchair-bound amputee, and for the kind and considerate assistance by the evening clerk on duty at our arrival. We have stayed at a number of HIE properties, and this one is a great example of what genuine superior service is. Thank you, HIE!

We always stay at a Holiday Inn Express whenever we travel and have never been disappointed. This one was no exception. All of the staff was friendly and helpful, the room was comfy and clean, and breakfast was great! The only thing missing was the sausage gravy at breakfast, but we survived, and probably didn't need the extra calories anyhow!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bsb814 Failed to even come close to expectations
The hotel was undergoing construction so getting access to the temporary lobby was difficult. There was no warning about the construction or discount offered for the inconvenience. The room key wouldn’t open the exterior door near our room so we had to go through the temporary lobby to gain access to the hotel. The staff’s key was able to open the lock. The staff was unable to fix the lock so our key wouldn’t open the door.
They didn't have the type of room we reserved. They claimed people stayed over. Don't accept the reservation if you can't provide the type of room which was reserved. They didn't offer any compensation for not having the type of room we reserved.
They charged their high pet fee per pet. The pet policy on the website did say the fee was per pet. Whether there was one or more than one pet in the room, the cleaning was going to be the same. Any extra cleaning wasn’t going to be done for each pet in the room. So they were charging twice for the same service that they were only going to do once. Any reasonable pet fee would not charge per pet. Especially, since the State sales tax was applied to this fee. That just doesn’t seem right. The policy should limit the number of pets to no more than 3. If each pet is going to be charged, then the fee for more than one pet should be reduced. For example, the first pet is $10 and the each additional pet is $5 up to a total of three pets making the total fee for 3 pets $20.
Since they accept pets and charge a high fee for them, it would be nice to have waste collection stations around the hotel so pet owners can clean up after their pets. If they don’t provide waste collection stations, they should at least provide garbage cans so the pet owners who pick up after their pets have some place to discard the waste.
A designated pet area would be nice. A fenced area would be great so the dogs could get off their leash for a while.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by kieta cheap furnishings
I have stayed at this hotel regularly since it opened. The staff has ALWAYS been extremely polite and accomodating.
But........when this hotel was built, they used very cheap furnishings in the rooms. And now, through normal wear-and-tear things are falling apart in the rooms.
I have had one desk and two chairs fall apart (completely!)
And in every room that I have stayed in over the past year, at least one of the chairs is too wobbly to sit in.
These chairs are the ones that service the desk where I do my laptop reports in the evenings, and these chairs don't even have wheels on them! VERY CHEAP.
Though the rooms are clean, they are still in need of repairs with new plaster and paint.
Recently, they had a water leak on the top floor and they have closed off several rooms and the lobby.
Even with out that disater, the rooms were in need of sprucing up.

The hotel is undergoing renovations and I believe they should have closed the facility, renovated and then reopened. There is no clear entrance, sheets of plastic are hanging everywhere, and our room was in a very noisy area.
